Despite the Democrat and media "shutdown" fever, President Trump's economic and tax policies are creating real change, change that is improving or soon will improve the lives of tens of thousands of Americans. From over a hundred major companies providing "Trump tax" bonuses to major companies hiking employee pay to existing employees to major corporations announcing massive U. S. expansion and investment, the Trump economy is set to boom.

UPDATE: A cloture vote to end debate in the Senate on the funding bill passed by the House failed. So we're heading to "shutdown" unless there is a last minute deal reached. As a reminder of how Obama weaponized the 2013 shutdown, see my post Flashback to when Obama weaponized 2013 government shutdown. 60 votes were needed, and it fell 10 short. 5 Democrats voted Yes: Donnelly, Heitkamp, Manchin, Jones, McCaskill. 4 Republicans voted No: Graham, Paul, Lee, Flake.

The March for Life is an amazing event that brings pro-lifers from all over the country to D.C. to march in support of the sanctity of each and every human life. Life, we believe, begins at conception and is not subject to convenience or circumstance of birth. For years, anti-lifers, though they prefer the innocuous "pro-choice" moniker, have argued over fetal viability, have tried to convince themselves (and others) that a fetus is not really a person, and have discussed at length when a fetus becomes a baby.

More than 200 people were arrested in Washington, DC last year during violent anti-Trump demonstrations. Innocent people were intimidated, windows were smashed and a limousine was even burned, yet many of those arrested are getting off with next to nothing.

It's unclear at this point whether there will be a short-term budget deal, or a government "shutdown." Despite the drama, a shutdown is not really a shut down. Essential services continue. It's more of a scale-back, and the government has a lot of discretion as to what gets scaled back. In a press conference today OMB Director Mick Mulvaney made the point that many agencies have reserve funds that can be used, but weren't used in the 2013 shutdown.

Every year, pro-lifers from all over the country brave the D.C. winter to stand for the sanctity of life, representing a fraction of national pro-life support. The value and sanctity of each and every human life is by far one of the most, if not THE most important issue of our time.

During the 2017 Women's March on Washington and follow up Women's Strike, anti-Israel activists attempted to hijack the movement. Anti-Israel activist Linda Sarsour attempted to steer the movement against Israel, and the Women's Strike was co-organized by and honored convicted supermarket bomber murderer (and immigration fraudster) Rasmea Odeh.
