Elon University Prof Allegedly Doxing ‘Far Right Extremists’ for Antifa

“program feeds data to the hyper-partisan organization Southern Poverty Law Center”

Antifa gets an alarming level of support from people who work in academia. What does that tell you?

The Daily Caller reports:

This Elon University Professor Is Doxing ‘Far-Right Extremists’ For Antifa

An Elon University professor has devised a “secret weapon” to fight “far-right extremists” on behalf of Antifa — she’s made software to keep tabs on 400,000 Facebook accounts whom she suspects to be members of the alt-right.

And she’s using that program to dox anyone she deems a “far-right extremist.”

A new Wired Magazine article, published on Tuesday, highlights the work of Megan Squire, a 45-year-old professor of computer science at Elon University, whose program feeds data to the hyper-partisan organization Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) — as well as a “left-wing activist who she knew might take more radical action.”

The magazine reports that the SPLC’s analysts then use the information she gives them to “provide information to police or to reveal white supremacists to their employers, seeking to get them fired.”

The SPLC’s penchant for recklessly referring to organizations as “hate groups” previously resulted in a domestic terror attack on the Family Research Council. The group’s headquarters was attacked in 2012 by a shooter who cited the SPLC’s “hate map,” which identified the FRC as a “hate group” alongside the Ku Klux Klan and Stormfront for its support of traditional marriage.

Far Right Extremists = Anyone to the right of Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov.

Another crapola school nobody’s ever heard of.

There are far too many crapola schools.

SPLC needs to be designated a terrorist organization. Use every tool so eliminate the scourge of political violence that has erupted on the left. Same for the right in theory but it doesn’t seem that there is any political violence to speak of from the right.

Did people see the news this week of an Antifa leader essentially clearing the Confederate statue supporter who rammed the crowd of leftist counter-protestors, killing one? Given the substantial speed with which the driver hit the crowd, and given that he was driving from outside the crowd into the crowd, it didn’t seem there could be any way that he was legitimately trying to escape any immediate threat, but the Antifa leader of an armed group called Redneck Militia has apparently bragged otherwise, crowing that he personally prompted Fields to flee at high speed by pointing his M16 at him.

Holy cow, so Fields is probably going to be found innocent and if the prosecutor’s are unbiased this Antifa leader could be convicted of second degree murder. Quite the turn-around.

Do you have a link to that report?

I saw video before the driver sped off of black clad domestic terrorists beating the car with very substantial flag poles. I think we will see a case made for the driver being acquitted. It looked to me as if the driver was fleeing not attacking.

We will probably see more video when the case comes to trial.

I don’t think news of the Antifa leader causing that crash is very credible. I suppose it’s possible, but I’m doubtful.

I agree with the rest of your comment.

Given the violent tendencies of Antifa activists, this could be placing people at serious risk — and of course this professor, according to the articles, doesn’t have a clear handle on what “far right” means other than “anyone who opposes leftist agendas.”

why do you use the term “doxing”? that is just a euphemism for informing to the fascists (government or otherwise) in order that vigilantes can exact violence on them. Call it what it is. Don’t sugar coat it

Not a euphemism – it’s the modern term that best applies – given that “outing” (like “gay” before it) has connotations implied the make it less clear what you actually mean to say.

The situation where a butter-wouldn’t-melt- in-his/her-mouth “moderate” Liberal doxes a non-liberal with the intent of someone else harming that person, his/her family, or their job reminds me of two things…..

    (1) A spotter pointing out targets for a sniper to take out and/or

    (2) the old joke about the difference between a “moderate” Muslim and a “fanatical” Muslim.
The “fanatical. Muslim thinks he should kill you for denigrating Islam/The Koran/Mohamed.
The “moderate” Muslim thinks a ‘fanatical” Muslim should kill you for that.

Yes, yes, I know not ALL Muslims think that way. But surveys of Muslim populations show wide spread liking for Sharia law and it’s penalties even among “moderate” folks who themselves are likely never to behead a person for breaking it.
