December 2017

As Venezuela collapses, stories have leaked out about the hunger in the country. But the one thing the socialist government has guarded the most are the malnutrition deaths, especially children. We all know it's happening, but the details remain dark. The New York Times investigated the effects of Venezuela's collapse on children and it's heartbreaking. It will make you cry, but the world needs to know this is going on. Children with severe malnutrition overwhelm emergency rooms across the nation since there is hardly any food.

President Trump has kicked Obama's unconstitutional Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) back to Congress and stated that he will extend his initial six month deadline if Congress fails to act. While there doesn't appear to be much (any?) movement on this in either the House or the Senate, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released a report that legalizing Dreamers will cost U. S. taxpayers $25.9 billion over the next 10 years.

It appears that the Trump Administration may be doling out even more policy goodness this Christmas season. A few short weeks ago it was being reported that the 2,400-page National Defense Authorization Act that Congress sent to President Trump contained language that contradicted his views on what constituted a national security threat.
...Changing climate is a “direct threat” to U.S. national security, endangering 128 military bases with sea rise and global destabilization that could fuel terror groups, according to the NDAA, which is a bipartisan compromise struck by the House and Senate.

Eco-activists enamored by alternative energy technology have long touted the potential for wind farms as a source of power. However, it appears that the industry's promises may be full of hot air. Take, for example, the funding for many projects. Many Americans are now coining the term "Big Wind" for wind farm installation firms who collude with government employees to obtain subsidies and funding for large-scale projects.

Today, December 16th, is the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, a response to a series of tyrannical actions taken by the distant King George III.  Although often downplayed as a fevered response to a single piece of legislation, the Tea Act, the Boston Tea Party represented an act of defiance against a long list of "repeated injuries and usurpations."  Each of which were enumerated three years later in the Declaration of Independence. Following is a brief history of the Boston Tea Party:
In Boston Harbor, a group of Massachusetts colonists disguised as Mohawk Indians board three British tea ships and dump 342 chests of tea into the harbor.

Apparently, some obscure Representative no one has ever heard of mused about whether or not President Trump will fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller next week, and the entire #Resistance freaked out.  They are hastily organizing spontaneous protests should Trump indeed fire Mueller, and Twitter is abuzz with their frenzied outrage . . . and a good bit of well-deserved mockery. The Hill reported yesterday that Representative Jackie Speier (D-CA) appeared on some local PBS channel and shared that there's a "rumor" that President Trump is giving a major speech next week and that he intends to fire Mueller on December 22nd.

Perhaps no agency has been so public about its #Resistance to President Donald Trump and his efforts to drain the swamp and reduce regulations than the Environmental Protection Agency. Perhaps, then, it is fitting that as we approach the 1-year anniversary of the Trump inauguration, the agency's headquarters appears to be the epicenter of a draining swamp.

When it comes to the Russia collusion narrative, the Democrats have got nothing. The investigation has been going on for months and we always seem to be just a few days away from the bombshell that will finally allow Democrats to declare the 2016 election null and void.
