As we mentioned in a recent Quick Take, conservative students at Berkeley decided to thumb their noses at campus SJWs by inviting Ann Coulter to speak on campus. First the school imposed a number of conditions, then banned Coulter's speech altogether. Ann is vowing to visit the school anyway. The Young America's Foundation has the story:

During today's Morning Joe discussion of the ouster of Bill O'Reilly at Fox News, Joe Scarborough asked, "Do they remake over the entire network? Is anybody else in the [Murdoch] family's crosshairs right now?" Replied New York Times reporter Jeremy Peters: "I think you have to look at somebody like Sean Hannity, and question whether or not his almost propaganda-like attitude and programming every night is going to be acceptable in the minds of the family, which is clearly trying to shift the network in a different direction."

Evan McMullin exploded onto the 2016 presidential election scene as an Independent with a message of conservative values and Reagan-esque ideals.  He didn't make a blip on the radar, and following President Trump's election has turned his sour grapes into a #NeverTrump box of sickly-sweet wine that reeks of desperation and, worse, of self-aggrandizement. To top off his head-spinning fall from grace, McMullin owes nearly $670,000 for his failed presidential campaign.

Bill O'Reilly's Fox News career now swims with the fishes. The conventional wisdom is that after the NY Times exposed a history of sexual harassment  settlements, and two new accusers came forward, advertisers "fled" the show, forcing the hand of News Corp and the Murdochs. That conventional wisdom is only partially correct -- advertisers didn't flee, they were chased away by the same organized effort as was used against Glenn Beck once upon a time, and Rush Limbaugh in 2012. Longtime readers will recall my extensive and groundbreaking research into the StopRush operation just after Limbaugh’s comments about Sandra Fluke in 2012, for which he apologized.

Twenty-two years ago today, at 9:02 AM, a homemade bomb exploded at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, OK. The bomb killed 168 people, which included 19 children. The attack at the time was the worst terrorist attack on American soil until 9/11. Every single year, us in Oklahoma City remember this tragic attack at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. Survivors and family members of the victims decorate the beautiful chairs that adorn the memorial, one for each victim. I did not live in OKC at the time, but the city has become my home and trust me, you do not have to be from around here to have it affect you.

After Heather Mac Donald was recently shut down by a mob of students who support Black Lives Matter at Claremont McKenna, the president of Pomona College, which is part of the consortium of Claremont colleges, defended her and the importance of free speech. That didn't sit well with some students. The Claremont Independent reports:
Students Demand Administrators 'Take Action' Against Conservative Journalists In an open letter to outgoing Pomona College President David Oxtoby, a group of students from the Claremont Colleges assail the president for affirming Pomona’s commitment to free speech and demand that all five colleges “take action” against the conservative journalists on the staff of the Claremont Independent.

Labelled a "surging dark horse" candidate in France's presidential election, communist Jean-Luc Mélenchon has a new proposal that he hopes will maintain his momentum:  a 100% tax on the rich.  Mélenchon is running as the candidate of the "Unbowed France political movement, in an alliance with the French Communist Party." Mélenchon is a colorful character whose repertoire includes showing up at rallies via hologram, enabling him to "appear" at seven rallies at once.

A growing pile of sexual harassment allegations resulted in Bill O'Reilly's departure from Fox News. Up through Tuesday night, O'Reilly's spokesperson was assuring reporters he would return to the network April 24th.

Beto O'Rourke, Democratic Congressman from El Paso announced his Senate candidacy just a few weeks ago. He has an impressive $500K in the bank, an amount that pales in comparison to Cruz's $5 million. O'Rourke had a successful first quarter, raising just over $200k. Not bad for a little known Congressman, but he has a long way to go if he wants to catch up with Cruz, who raised $1.7 million in that same timeframe.
