Rick Santorum disqualified himself last night at the debate by his response to John King’s question to Newt about the ABC News interview with Newt’s ex-wife.

The issue was more than just another issue, whether it was the Newt-Freddie consulting, Romney’s tax returns, or Santorum’s election loss in PA.  The ABC assault on...

I was wondering when someone would bring out the Mike Huckabee line from the 2008 campaign, when he was attacked by Romney much the way Romney attacked Newt in this election cycle.

Romney always starts it.  He did it in Iowa in December 2007 against Huckabee and McCain,  and in Iowa 2011...

So now Romney is not historic (or inevitable?)

There’s a whole lot of punditry who have been singing the inevitability of Mitt Romney because for the first time in history a single candidate won both Iowa and New Hampshire in an open race.  The narrative was stupid...

More Romney campaign theater of the absurd.

The Romney campaign must know that Newt is surging in South Carolina:

“There are some increasing signs — though all of it anecdotal for now — that Newt Gingrich is gaining some momentum three days before the South Carolina primary. First was his strong debate performance on...

Andrew Kaczynski of BuzzFeed has located John McCain’s 200-page opposition reasearch book on Mitt Romney.  It’s embedded below.

I turned to the section on Bain, and at page 136 found this sentence:

Romney Served As CEO Of Bain Capital Through August 2001, Even Though He No Longer Ran Daily Operations. “Although he gave...

Tax return slippery slope

I saw this coming from a mile away.

Mitt Romney’s original position that he would not release his income tax returns, a position he held to for several weeks, now is slipping.

At the debate last night Romney gave a convoluted answer that he “probably” would release the tax returns in April —...

That was the reaction of more than one reader in response to the comments on the post Saturday Night Card Game (How nasty will the general election race card get? This nasty).  I agree.

I’m not sure at what point lines get crossed, but I certainly don’t want to see the comment section here...

It’s been widely reported that Mitt Romney handed a woman some cash to help her out as he worked a rope line in South Carolina.

Ann Coulter already told us that Tea Partiers opposed to Mitt Romney were just a bunch of “birthers” (emphasis mine):

Pemmaraju pressed Coulter on Romney’s conservatism, adding that the Tea Party has resisted him strongly, an indication he may not be as conservative as she thinks. Coulter replied that the Tea Party was...

Jon Huntsman will withdraw Monday from the race for the Republican presidential nomination, campaign officials told The Associated Press on Sunday.

Huntsman will endorse Mitt Romney at an event in South Carolina, the officials said. Huntsman believes Romney is the best...

This ad actually is going to run on television in South Carolina, although in a small buy on a single station.

It will be viewed by far more on the internet.

I think this will help Romney.

So suggests Randall Hoven:

I can’t say he’s wrong.  I can say that it will be a disaster for our general election chances if the primaries are over so soon, before the bubble of Romney’s electability is fully probed in the conservative media.

Andy McCarthy joins a growing chorus of people who do not necessarily...

I was hesitant to post the video below, but since it is receiving a lot of press coverage, particularly in Utah, it’s not like I’m helping spread something that’s not already out there.  And you have to see what is coming down the pike.

Via The Hill:

Restore Our Future, an outside group backing Mitt Romney, is taking its first shot at Rick Santorum. The group is running ads in South Carolina and Florida criticizing Santorum for supporting earmarks, part of multi-million dollar ad buys running in the states.

Fair? In context? All the possibly clarifying facts...
