The NY Times has whitewashed the anti-Semitic aspects of the Arab Spring in Egypt since the beginning of the protests last January.  NY Times’ columnists like Roger Cohen have sought to glamorize and glorify the so-called “Arab Street” and Nicholas Kristof has waxed poetic about Islamist forces in the Middle East.

I’ve said it before, it’s not enough to be a “not” candidate.  Not being Barack Obama is not enough, and not being Mitt Romney is not enough.  Any candidate who is to win the nomination and the general election is going to have to inspire, not merely be the default candidate.

The...

From The Razor (h/t SoccerDad), a brutal takedown of Mitt Romney followed by a “he’s electable” endorsement, The Case for Mitt Romney:

I don’t like Mitt Romney. I think he’s almost a walking cliche of the smooth talking, Country Club Republican. I think he’s about as authentic as a Coach bag bought...

The first American killed in the Afghan war, on November 25, 2001.  I’ve told his story before, but it is worth remembering every year.

This interesting video by The Daily Caller recalls the group of special forces similar to Spann, who worked with Afhan warlord Abdul Rahdis Dostum to route the Taliban in...

The second ad released by Scott Walker in response to the recall effort features a Wisconsin teacher.  Anti-Walker commenters at TPMDC identify her full name.  The first ad is here.

I think this hits the right theme, sour grapes and Walker doing what’s right.  I would call this preparing the battlefield and...

Israeli tanish-pinkwashing must be condemned

Yesterday I noted the accusation by an anti-Israeli LGBT activist writing in The New York Times that Israel engages in “pinkwashing,” the promotion of its not-gay bashing, not-gay stoning, not-gay hating policies to cover up its suppression of Palestinians.

How long before Israel is accused of tanish-pinkwashing for publicizing a recent medical breakthrough...

Did Newt set a trap for Romney on immigration?

Newt Gingrich’s statement on immigration at the national security debate is being called an unforced error by some in the conservative media.  Immigration was not the topic of the night, so why make it the highlight of the night?

I don’t know whether Newt’s position, that there should be some humanitarian exceptions...

Every time one thinks it is impossible for Israel haters to come out with a more bizarre justification for hating Israel, someone comes up with an even more bizarre justification.

One of the key supposed foreign policy achievements of the Obama administration is turning into a disaster.

Egypt is quickly devolving into chaos with only bad likely outcomes, as Barry Rubin writes:

Only days before parliamentary elections, Egypt is in a huge crisis whose outcome will determine the future of almost 80 million people...
