Obama saved GM and Chrysler, Obama saved GM and Chrysler.  Republicans wanted the companies to die quickly.  That’s pretty much a central Democratic Party talking point this election cycle.

Of course, it’s complete nonsense.  GM and Chrysler were “saved” by Obama with a bailout to preserve the position of auto unions.  The companies...

Hey, I know how it feels.

Professor,

I couldn’t take a picture because I was driving 70 miles per hour, but I saw a fantastic sign, printed on the side of an empty semi trailer on HWY 71 just north of Nevada, Missouri:

“ARE YOU A PRODUCER OR A PARASITE? DEMOCRATS: THE PARTY OF PARASITES”.

Wish I’d gotten a photo. It made me smile.

Although many in the media are using terms like “sexual harassment,” the woman appearing on Atlanta TV tonight alleges a consensual 13-year extra-marital affair.  Initial details here.

Update: More details here.

And, here’s the video.  The only proof she pointed to was relatively recent cell phone records.  That would prove they knew each...

“There is no such thing as liberal journalistic bias” Tweet of the Day

Chris Cillizza’s The Fix blog at The Washington Post presents itself as a political reporting blog, not an advocacy blog.  It purports to be journalism in a blog format.

That distinction in the mainstream media, of course, really doesn’t exist in the newsroom or the blog sections.  Except for blogs or bloggers...

Barney Frank retires, Democratic self-decapitation continues

I was in the car this morning when I heard on the news that Barney Frank was retiring and would not run for re-election.

Obviously there is a lot of snark which could be thrown around, but this represents a bigger deal than Barney.  As more and more senior Democrats retire, the...

Edward Jay Epstein wrote an extremely interesting piece on the day that the US became acquainted with DSK‘s name. Important parts of the piece that a lot of outlets left out:

  • What took place between DSK and the maid in those six to seven intervening minutes...

In case you were in a Turkey-induced stupor, you may have missed:

Newt’s immigration policy crazy like a conservative fox

Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann (as well as many Mitt supporters in the media) have been distorting Newt Gingrich’s position on immigration as one favoring “amnesty.”

Via The Shark Tank, here is a video where Newt explains his immigration policy.  I believe it’s a fully acceptable and conservative immigration policy:  Secure the borders...

On Sunday evening, October 30, Politico broke the story that two women had complained about Herman Cain while at the National Restaurant Association.  In that first week, Politico ran several dozen stories about the accusations without telling us what the accusations were, while characterizing the accusations as sexual harassment.

During the subsequent...

Like I said Friday, the fuse has been lit.  I think it’s too late for Assad to put it out without a major blow up.

Now the Arab League, in an unprecedented move, has imposed economic sanctions on Syria, including travel bans on senior officials and other measures which will make it...

The only reason, the only reason, the only reason anyone pays any attention to David Frum is that he is the mainstream media’s “useful conservative,” someone who screams about the crazy Republican Party and Tea Party movement.

He is worse than a carnival barker, because a carnival barker does not gain attention...

Newt Gingrich has picked up the endorsement of New Hamsphire’s largest newspaper, the conservative Manchester Union Leader.

This newspaper endorses Newt Gingrich in the New Hampshire Presidential Primary.

America is at a crucial crossroads. It is not going to be enough to merely replace Barack Obama next year. We are in critical need...
