The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral argument this morning on Trump's Travel Order No. 3, which restricts visa travel to the U.S. from seven countries, Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Chad and North Korea. The Travel Order is not a "travel ban," it's an order regulating who can come into the United States. It's no more a "travel ban" than the U.S. immigration laws. But "travel ban" is how the media and even many Trump supporters refer to it -- at one point Trump himself capitulated to this media characterization as to earlier versions of the travel order.

In the wake of San Diego County's formal support of the federal lawsuit against California's SB54, the "Sanctuary State" rules, another California city has voted to join the #CounterResistance.
The city council of Beaumont — a Riverside County city with a population of nearly 37,000 — voted 3-2 to approve a resolution that declares Senate Bill 54, the “California Values Act,” is incompatible with federal law and, therefore, illegitimate. The vote followed a lengthy debate and impassioned comments from the audience, which filled both chambers and an overflow room.

The #CounterResistance gained an important, new member today when the San Diego County Board of Supervisors officially voted to support the US Department of Justice in its lawsuit against California SB54's "Sanctuary State" rules.
With the vote, San Diego County became California's most populous county to rebuke state policies aimed at protect select immigrants from deportation. The sanctuary state law, SB 54, limits cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities.

Three more California cities have several other Golden State municipalities in the fight against Sacramento's "Sanctuary State" law (SB54). The City of Orange voted to not enforce the rules, and Newport Beach is joining the federal lawsuit against the state, as SB54 limits the ability of local law enforcement professionals from cooperating with federal immigration agents in the process of deporting criminal aliens.
In Newport Beach, the City Council voted unanimously during closed session to support a federal lawsuit filed by the Trump administration against California. The Newport Beach council also voted 7-0 for a resolution that says the city is publicly opposed to the law.

As a "caravan of migrants" makes its way to our Southern border, President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions are working in tandem to tighten border security. The migrants are marching toward our southern border with the intent of entering the U. S. by seeking asylum, crossing illegally, or by exploiting the ongoing “catch and release” policy. Additionally, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has reported a 203% increase in illegal border crossings from March 2017 to March 2018 and a 37% increase from February 2018 to March 2018.

Over the weekend, Fuzzy blogged about a caravan of hundreds of Central Americans crossing over into Mexico in an attempt to cross America's border. The people want to apply for asylum or slip into the country illegally. At first, Mexico didn't do anything to stop them, but officials decided late Monday night to disband the caravan. The government will allow disabled people and pregnant women to stay. The others must leave.

Monday morning, Trump unleashed a round of tweets blaming Mexico and the Democrat party for contributing to America's Dreamer crisis, picking up a thread he began Sunday on the same subject. DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), the controversial policy created extralegally by President Obama, was rightly kicked to the legislature to legally codify protections for individuals who were brought to the U.S. as children without any legal immigration status.
