The Obama administration was stuffed to the gills with unsavory characters, but one that stands out above most others is Susan Rice. And now she's hinted that she might consider running against Senator Susan Collins (R-ME). As we've covered here at LI, Rice has been at the center of far too many Obama-era scandals. From lying about the cause of the Benghazi compound attack that left four men, including an American ambassador dead, to lying about the deserter Bowe Bergdahl having "served with honor and distinction, to unmasking Trump campaign officials, Rice was front and center.

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) is a notorious moderate in the upper chamber and one not scared to go against the Republican Party. This is why people have been pushing her to vote against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, but some have gone too far. Some people have threatened and wished rape upon her female staff members while others have raised money to defeat her if she doesn't vote against Kavanaugh. Collins claims that is bribery and she may be correct.

Sens. Billy Cassidy (R-LA) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) hope to pass their Obamacare "repeal and replace" bill by the end of the month, but have encountered opposition from a few in their own party. Sens. John McCain (AZ) and Rand Paul (KY) have already said no while Sens. Susan Collins (ME) and Lisa Murkowski (AK) remain on the fence. Even Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has said "that he's not yet on board with the legislation." This has led to a few changes to the bill, which includes boosts for Arizona, Alaska, Kentucky, and Maine as a way to entice these senators to vote yes.

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) has told Maine Public Radio that she will vote against Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to lead the EPA. She acknowledged his accomplishments, but the two of them have too many different views when it comes to the EPA:
“Specifically, I have significant concerns that Mr. Pruitt has actively opposed and sued the EPA on numerous issues that are of great importance to the state of Maine, including mercury controls for coal-fired power plants and efforts to reduce cross-state air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions,” she says. “His actions leave me with considerable doubts about whether his vision for the EPA is consistent with the agency’s critical mission to protect human health and the environment.”

Maine's First Lady has joined the working class ranks. Recently, she picked up a summer job waiting tables to supplement the household income. "People expect something different of you because of who I'm married to," Maine's First Lady Ann LePage told local news. Governor LePage makes $70,000 per year in exchange for his stewardship of Maine, making it the lowest paid governorship in the country. The average two-person family income in Maine is about $17,000 more annually than the governor's salary. First Lady LePage is saving her summer earnings to buy a car.
