Although General John Kelly had agreed to stay in his position until 2020, President Trump is reportedly removing Kelly from his position as White House Chief of Staff. Kelly was brought in to replace Reince Priebus and instill order to the chaotic Trump White House, and by all accounts he did an admirable job. Trump has announced that Kelly will leave his position by the end of the year.

President Donald Trump's Chief of Staff John Kelly said on Fox News Radio that the president will release House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes' memo soon. From Fox News:
In a radio exclusive, White House Chief of Staff General John Kelly, joined Brian Kilmeade at the White House to talk about President Trump's first State of the Union address. Kelly discussed President Trump taking the handcuffs off of the military in Afghanistan, working on a bipartisan solution on DACA, why his heart breaks over identity politics in America and President Trump releasing the Nunes memo "pretty quick and the whole world can see it."

White House chief of staff John Kelly held an impromptu press conference Thursday to address the disgusting spectacle created by Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL). According to the WaEx, "Trump told the widow of one of the four soldiers killed in Niger this month that her husband "knew what he signed up for ... but when it happens, it hurts anyway," Wilson recounted on Tuesday."

Almost every day some mainstream media reporter breaks a story about how the White House is in meltdown and the only thing standing between the nation and the abyss is Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly. Depending which "scoop" you are reading, Trump also is about to fire Kelly or Kelly's about to quit or Kelly is staying to protect the nation from Trump. These scoops create a media and political frenzy that have anti-Trump politicians and media talking about invoking the 25th Amendment or some other type of intervention.

On Joy Reid's MSNBC show today, analyst Malcolm Nance floated a scenario in which President Trump decided to use a nuclear weapon to stop the North Korean missile-testing program. Reid asked whether Kelly would be "the guy who's going to say, 'yes, sir, or the guy who's going to say, 'don't do it?'" Replied Nance:

"He may have to be the guy that tackles him."

Reince Priebus, Trump's Chief of Staff, no longer has that position. He is being replaced by General (and Secretary of Homeland Security) John Kelly. Trump announced the move in a series of tweets:

President Donald Trump's Department of Homeland Security did not touch former President Barack Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which allows undocumented immigrants, who came to the U.S. as small children, to remain in America. From The New York Times:
The Department of Homeland Security announced late Thursday night that it would continue the Obama-era program intended to protect those immigrants from deportation and provide them work permits so they can find legal employment.

Earlier this week, U.S. officials began discussions over banning electronics larger than a cell phone on flights to America from Europe as a way to deter terrorism. Our officials have already placed this ban on flights from ten airports in the Middle East and North Africa. Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly discussed this ban today after many European officials expressed worry about the ban and want to persuade Kelly to change his mind.

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions made a stop in my hometown on Friday. During the visit, he urged cities and other government jurisdictions with sanctuary policies to reconsider and work with federal law enforcement to identify criminals who should be deported.

The Department of Homeland Secretary has issued memos that provide new guidelines for immigration. These include hiring more agents and ending "catch-and-release," but kept Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) intact. Due to security concerns, Secretary Kelly wants to hire 10,000 ICE agents and 5,000 border patrol agents.
