Capitol Hill Riot January 2021 Tag

GoDaddy told The Hill that it has initiated an investigation into some sites it hosts or for which is acts as internet Registrar for links to the Capitol Hill riot after a report by the Soros-connected partisan group Accountable.US. It's not just supposedly violent groups targeted. Political groups such as Turning Point USA are targetted as well in the pressure campaign against GoDaddy.

The coordinated Big Tech deplatforming of Parler is looking more and more suspect. Last month, I reviewed every arrest report the DOJ had made available at that time, and the overwhelming number of social media posts cited in these reports were those posted on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. There was barely any mention of Parler.

The takedown of Parler was purportedly based on its unique role in fomenting hate online relating to its alleged outsize role in the events at the Capitol on January 6th.  Having spent a couple days weeding through the DOJ's published arrest reports, I found little mention of Parler, but plenty of alleged criminal conduct referencing Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, in the charging document.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio wants to terminate the city's contracts with the Trump Organization due to the Capitol Hill riots. New York is in the midst of unprecedented health and economic crisis, much of it due to de Blasio's ineptness as mayor. He is using this situation to deflect and virtue signal to the left.

Trump issued a video announcement responding to the events of the last few weeks, in particular the violence last week and the massive and widespread cancellation of voices across the country.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi named nine managers to lead President Donald Trump's second impeachment trial. The list includes Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA), who had a recent controversy involving a Chinese spy, and Rep. Jamie Raskin (MD), who objected to certifying the 2016 election.
