Some Journalists Reportedly Afraid to Return to Capitol Building After the ‘Insurrection’

“Six months after their office was attacked, the Capitol Hill press corps is grappling with how to cover the insurrection’s fallout”

At the beginning of Trump’s presidency, we were told that journalists are like brave firefighters running towards the burning building. Now we are told that journalists are still suffering from supposed trauma over the Capitol riot on January 6th.

Some reporters can’t even find the strength to reenter the building. Poor them.

Cameron Joseph reports at VICE News:

‘So, So Angry’: Reporters Who Survived the Capitol Riot Are Still Struggling

John Bresnahan spent January 6 watching a pro-Trump insurrection ransack the building he’s worked in for decades.

The congressional reporting veteran was in the House gallery when a colleague texted him that the Capitol’s exterior security fence had been overrun. As soon as he stepped into the hallway, he heard the roar of the crowd as they warred with police officers trying to protect the Capitol’s perimeter…

Bresnahan, a Navy veteran who has covered Congress since 1994 and co-founded the D.C. newsletter Punchbowl News, said returning to the Capitol after the riots was difficult.

“The next day, I was so angry. So, so angry,” he said.

Reporters have discussed their personal experiences in the days immediately following the Capitol insurrection. But few have publicly talked about the lasting effects in the months since—the toll that day took on them, the difficulty some have faced in returning to a site where they experienced trauma, and what it’s been like covering a Congress still deeply divided on the events of that day.

And the emotional scars are still there. Six months after their office was attacked, the Capitol Hill press corps is grappling with how to cover the insurrection’s fallout, as well as its impact on them personally and professionally.

Have you noticed that our media goes from mocking Trump supporters and other Republicans as stupid and powerless in on breath, and then in a shaky voice talk about how terrified they were by the unarmed mob at the Capitol?

Of course, other people were traumatized last year for different reasons and they have been almost completely ignored by our self-obsessed media:

As the Democrat party’s foot soldiers in BLM and Antifa burned and looted their way through American cities for months, the media told us it was just property and that the owners had insurance. Then a mob of Trump supporters entered the Capitol and it was immediately branded an act of domestic terrorism.

Democrats in Congress have tried to compare the riot to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor, among other things. They have also tried to act like the event deserves the same amount of reverence. Here’s New Jersey Democrat Andy Kim:

It’s all performative nonsense.

Ask the Minneapolis business owner whose family business was destroyed by the progressive mob last summer how upset he is about the Capitol riot.

I hate to be the one to break this to you Mike, but some journalists are liars.
PISD (post insurrection stress disorder) is not a thing.

Well now we know who won’t be covering WWIII when China invades Taiwan to start the dominoes falling.

Boo hoo. If they’re afraid to set foot there again, let them stay away. It’s not as if they were ever doing anything worthwhile there.

“Some reporters can’t even find the strength to reenter the building. Poor them.”

    Dear Reporters:
We left a “sleeper cell” of patriotic senior citizens behind, secreted in a utility room.
    Be afraid. Be very afraid.

“Reporters have discussed their personal experiences in the days immediately following the Capitol insurrection.”

I wish you wouldn’t say that. There was no insurrection. No one is afraid. It’s all misdirection and propaganda to support the democrat agenda.

Boo f*cking Hoo, snowflakes. Tell me, does it hurt to be that retarded?

JusticeDelivered in reply to Ironclaw. | July 7, 2021 at 10:56 pm

That depends on how retarded some is, at an IQ of 70 they generally are unaware of how stupid they are, at 85 they are very aware and resent it.

They are liars and poseurs. And spoiled brats.

When will some one stand up and push back on Progressives use of the term “INSURRECTION” ?

>> INSURRECTION is when you have 290+ days of attacks on a government authority (such as a Federal Court House) with armed combatants and hundreds of casualties on both sides. And where the intent is to OVERTHROW the Constitution – not uphold the Constitution.

>> INSURRECTION is when you secretly work to subvert society and government by indoctrinating kids to hate their country. And where you stoke division to cause mayhem and disorder.

>> INSURRECTION is when you don’t care to investigate an obviously flawed election because you want to rule the people.

>> INSURRECTION is when it takes 25,000 armed troops to occupy a Capitol in order to inaugurate a leader who was “supposed” freely elected by a majority of people.

>> INSURRECTION is when laws apply to your political opponents – but not to your cronies.

Let’s take back the definition of “insurrection” and not surrender it to the Progressive mob who want to control language so they can dictate the narrative.

Some Seriously Mentally Ill Journalists Reportedly Afraid to Return to Capitol Building After the ‘Insurrection’

Edited for accuracy.

Perhaps they should learn to code.

P*ssies.

Stunningly brave. Almost as brave as our troops who deployed, experienced the realities of war, went home only to be deployed again and again……

These clowns experienced one single day in which the proles stopped buying their BS and decided to violate societal norms. One solitary day.

In contrast how many days did the people in Portland face where a portion of the populace violated social norms? Seattle? Atlanta? St Louis? Minneapolis? NYC? Elsewhere?

What was so different and intensely frightening about that single day in DC? It’s not as if DC hadn’t seen it’s share of BLM and antifa mobs, arson ECT.

Ernie Pyle they ain’t. How many of them were on psychotropic drugs BEFORE 1/6?

Only need to recall all the stories after election 2016 from media and academia about the rush to mental health services simply because Trump won

These are people who think Punxsatawney Phil is incredibly brave to emerge from his burrow ACTUALLY LOOKING FOR his shadow.

LOL

I was going to ask, “Do these people have no shame?” I ended up answering my own question before I finished typing it, though.

I take this story as a sign their “insurrection” hoax is running out of steam. The kind of inane filler story they have to come up with when Biden* goes a day without an ice cream cone for them to gush over.

OT: there is independent confirmation of Tucker Carlson’s claim that the NSA spied on him:

http://ace.mu.nu/archives/394630.php

While most reporters are rooting for Carlson to be boiled alive, at least a few may still possess an instinct for self-preservation. They may be aware (however dimly) that they could be the next target of out-of-control spy agencies.

Ransack? Proof please.

Afraid…..ha ha ha. They can always bring their mom to cover the story for them.

They probably afraid that it is going to be discovered that they are part of the cover up and held accountable. But that is wishful thinking. They are the story now. The first rule of reporting that they have broken.

i guess none of them will volunteer to cover an actual war

Leftism is a mental illness, the same ones afraid to go back to the Capital would send you to a Gulag in a heartbeat.

Funny; I hear that all the law-abiding citizens of Portland are still afraid to live in Portland, thanks to the still-ongoing lawlessness, terrorism and thuggish violence committed by the Dhimmi-crats’ goose-stepping paramilitary goons in “Anti-fa” and in “Black Lives Matter.” One city out of scores of cities across the nation where the Dhimmi-crat mob destroyed neighborhoods and businesses, murdered innocents and desecrated synagogues. Note how the Dhimmi-crat media lemmings/lackeys/propagandists don’t care to report on this inconvenient history.

Several months back I saw a Dem Rep from Michigan literally crying on a news program about being treated for PTSD by a psychiatrist. Boo. Hoo.

My nephew, a good friend and a lot of old timers I know have no sympathy for this woos after what they went through in Iraq, Afghanistan and Vietnam.

These people should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves.

These pathetic human being who call themselves “journalists” should simply change professions. As Ted Knight said in Caddyshack, “The world needs ditch diggers you know”.

I wonder what they would’ve done on June 6th, 1944 !

Speaking of staged for maximum drama, I find it fascinating that Andy Kim managed to find an entire case of empty water bottles (of the same brand) to clean up in the aftermath, AND a professional photographer to document his heroic efforts. Amazing how that happens, right?

“Reporters Who Survived the Capitol Riot Are Still Struggling”
“And the emotional scars are still there.”

And this is a bad thing? Why is it a bad thing? All they seem to “report” is their feelings. That’s supposed to be journalism?

OMG, they survived the riot! How many were shot at, who was struck by a milkshake, who was beaten down? I’m sorry I have no pity for these fools. To begin, it wasn’t a riot it was a protest. Want a riot go to Portland or talk to Andy Ngo. Just more MSM gaslighting from BlueAnon.
