Boston Marathon Bombing – Three Patriots Days Later
What a day and days.
Monday is Patriots Day in Massachusetts, the third Monday in April on which the Boston Marathon is run. The holiday commemorates the Battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775.
Three Patriots Days ago, on April 15, 2013, Islamic terrorists bombed the Boston Marathon.
I don’t remember where I was when I first heard of it. But I do remember covering it.
Here is a look back.
At 3:06 p.m. I turned the first post live.

While the search for Flashbang was on (and whoever else, weren’t certain how many were involved at the time) I moved my comfy outdoor chair from the back yard to the front yard, got a long extension cord for my laptop, chamber checked the 1911, and worked outside for a few days. Sadly, Flashbang never came dashing down the street. Fortunately, they got the dummy anyway. 🙂

Thanks, Prof., for the reminder.
Another of those days that SHOULD live in infamy. We have to keep them bright in our memories, and pass them to our kids and grandkids.
Never forget My job for over ten years was at the site of the second bomb. Did not know where all our kids were, one of most horrific days of my life. Fuck the terrorists, excuse my language please.
Let’s also not forget Rolling Stone Magazine’s celebration:

The bastards only have to get lucky once. Keep your head on a swivel. Keep your first aid updated. Know your location–in case you have to call it in. Know your combat skills, or carry.
Tourniquet. Modern ones are light, easy to use, very effective. Forget what you were taught about them in 1980. Can be in place a couple of hours without endangering the limb. All that matters acutely is stopping the loss of blood, which is single greatest preventable cause of loss of life in combat action.

One of the evil brother’s sister lived right near here. She was kicked out of her apartment for dealing drugs and attacking her boyfriend. She moved one town over where the Mayor couldn’t do enough for her. Supporting her 100%. Why why why wasn’t she deported?
