Alleged NYC Antisemitic Stabbing Suspect Out on Bail as Incidents Rise 182% Under Mamdani
“The most disturbing thing about this: It’s no longer a shock to read such a headline.”
After Zohran Mamdani was elected mayor of New York City, it was only a matter of time before the attacks on the Jewish community were ramped up by antisemitic thugs who felt emboldened that their new mayor was “one of them.”
In December, for instance, one such attack took place on a city street in view of cameras:

Here’s another clip, which isn’t embeddable.
The New York Times reported on the attack at the time:
On the afternoon of Dec. 16, the 35-year-old victim had been walking near the intersection of Kingston Avenue and Lincoln Place, around the corner from the Chabad building, when Mr. [Armani] Charles approached him and the two exchanged words in a seemingly random interaction, the police said.
At some point in the back-and-forth that followed, Mr. Charles made “anti-Jewish statements,” the police said, though they did not specify what he had said.
Mr. Charles walked away from the victim, who followed him down the block. The two then got into another verbal altercation that turned violent and Mr. Charles pulled a knife and stabbed the man in the chest. The man then followed Mr. Charles across the street and down another block before Mr. Charles fled, the police said.
In an update to this story, and in an all-too-familiar scene in the Big Apple, the suspect is now out on bail:
The victim later said Charles had told him, “I’m going to kill Jewish people,” and, “We wouldn’t be in this mess if the Holocaust had happened.”
In his first court appearance, Charles is arraigned, pleads not guilty, and is released, posting at least $50,000 in bail, court filings show.
The 14 charges include assault with intent to cause serious injury, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and aggravated harassment based on race or religion. Six of the charges are hate crimes.

News of Mr. Charles’ release comes a week after the NYPD revealed that antisemitic incidents were up a staggering 182% in New York City since Mamdani took office in January:
Hateful antisemitic incidents skyrocketed 182% across the Big Apple in January compared to a year ago, even as other crimes such as murders and shootings reached record lows, according to NYPD data.
There were 31 hate crimes against Jewish people reported in the first month of 2026, which is 20 more than the same time last year, the startling stats show.
[…]
“Unfortunately, it’s never too cold to be antisemitic,” said Michael Nussbaum, a Queens board member of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York.
“The hate is going to be difficult to eliminate — it’s what’s in people’s hearts and minds,” he said.
Including, unfortunately, the city’s Democratic Socialist mayor and many members of his administration, as Legal Insurrection has extensively documented.
And in a further slap to the faces of Jewish residents, “leaders” in the city are set to make the problems worse:
Opinion: Antisemitic hate crimes in NYC have surged by 183%, yet city leadership is dismantling key protections. With the largest Jewish population outside Israel, NYC should be a sanctuary, not a warning sign.

Never fear, though, y’all. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) is on the scene, and she’s gonna take care of it… with strongly worded statements:
When a driver rammed into Chabad headquarters last month, it was just the latest incident to spark fear in our Jewish community.
I joined Rabbi Sperlin and our @Lubavitch partners to make clear we will always stand up to hate and fight for our Jewish neighbors. pic.twitter.com/4gYdeORk4i

What a sick joke.
Sadly, I fear the attacks are only going to get worse under Mayor Mamdani’s (approving) watch.

Ah, the “warmth of collectivism,” delivered on the knife (scimitar?) of antisemitism and salted with the promises of “something better.”
I knew the crash was coming, but I didn’t know it would be this fast.
Count me impressed/depressed.
Mommidaddi will fix all!
Edit: “The future victim followed Mr. Charles down the block.” Nothing justifies the stabbing, but can we agree following a crazed man and confronting him will no intelligence prizes?
this is a clue … leave …. while you can.
“…antisemitic thugs who felt emboldened that their new mayor was “one of them.”
Felt?
They have each other on speed dial.
Indeed, it’s time to get out. If there’s anything more dangerous than having an avowed socialist in charge of your city, it’s having a muslim in charge of your city.
What a travesty…
