‘Not in Check With Reality’: Manchin Won’t Stop Fighting Biden’s War on Appliances

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) told Fox News he will fight President Joe Biden’s war of on appliances.

Manchin scolded the Department of Energy (DOE) for placing too many restrictions on wash machines, dishwashers, cars, etc.

Everything must be electric! But what about the power grid?

From Fox News:

“It absolutely shows you how disconnected the [DOE] is with the facts and reality of what’s happening to the grid system,” Manchin told Fox News Digital. “We’ve had so many warnings from [the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission] and [North American Electric Reliability Corporation] and everybody else that the grid is strained to say the least.””And we’re taking more dispatchable power off the grid. That means 24/7, mostly fossil — because of the movement of this administration. It is putting us in the danger zone, the grid,” he continued. “With all the movement and demand for more electric appliances that would take the place of gas whether it be a stove or furnace. It absolutely makes no sense and is not in check with reality. Absolutely not.”

The DOE wants to change the dishwasher standard for maximum per-cycle water consumption (gal/cycle) 3.3. The current standard is 5, but most dishwashers are 3.5.

DOE Secretary Granholm supports making the military adopt an all-electric vehicle fleet by 2030.

Speaking of cars, the Biden administration is obsessed with making us all drive electric vehicles. It’s funny because last year, California had an energy crisis and even asked people to avoid charging their electric vehicles!

The DOE finalized restrictions on air conditioning window units, which would harm the poor and minority communities.

Washing machines! The DOE wants it to use less water, which means longer washing times and stinkier clothes.

Then there are the gas stoves. An official tried to change his words, but he said he wanted the government to come after our gas stoves. This sparked a frenzy in blue states. New York banished gas stoves from new construction.

Manchin continued: “You cannot eliminate your way to a cleaner environment It’s not going to work. It’s not feasible. It won’t be done. The rest of the world won’t follow and Asia is going to produce about 90% of all pollution in the next ten years. It’s where all the pollution is coming from. Innovation is the only way to go. If you want a clean environment, then you have to do it through technology and innovation.”
