European mainstream media were united in their condemnation of U.S. President Donald Trump's Fourth of July speech at Mount Rushmore. The coverage in the mainstream German, French, and British news outlets echoed each other, describing the speech as 'dark,' 'polarizing,' and 'divisive.'

Colleges and universities charge students fees so that the money collected can be dibursed to fund various student groups and activities. At Cornell University, the student government handed $10,000 worth of these funds over to a Black Lives Matter funding initiative which was not a recognized student group and which reportedly will transfer the funds to non-student groups. If you were a student, wouldn't you have a problem with your mandatory student activity fees being sent to non-student political advocacy groups? Many students do have a problem with what happened, and are speaking up.

Against the backdrop of a rising tide of anti-Semitic incidents across the country and the failure of many mainstream Jewish organizations to condemn anti-Semitism emanating from the left, communities of color, or Islamists, I've joined a group of Jewish-American millennials in founding a brand-new non-profit organization called HaShevet. It is my honor to serve on HaShevet's founding board of directors with a cadre of brilliant, ambitious, and passionate Jewish leaders.
