Senator Elizabeth Warren brought in a massive $19 million second quarter fundraising haul, passing up both Sanders and Harris and giving Biden a run for his money -- he raised $21.5 million. Fundraising hauls have to be weighed against the campaign's "burn rate" or how much of the money they're bringing in is being spent. Warren's campaign has dialed down the burn rate substantially compared to the first quarter.

Well, y'all, it finally happened. Several weeks after talking about how he was able to work with segregationist Senators in the 1970s, and just a couple of weeks after he was dramatically confronted by Sen. Kamala Harris (CA) at the Democratic presidential debate about his comments, Joe Biden has finally broken down and apologized.

The $11 million compensatory and $33 million punitive damage verdicts won by Gibson's Bakery and its owners against Oberlin College later were reduced to $25 million under Ohio tort reform caps. But there is an important piece left in the case, the determination by Judge John Miraldi of the amount of attorney's fees, after the jury found in the punitive damage verdict that the plaintiffs were entitled to such fees.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a law on Monday morning that allows Congress to access President Donald Trump's state tax returns. From The New York Times:
The bill requires state tax officials to release the president’s state returns for any “specified and legitimate legislative purpose” on the request of the chair of one of three congressional committees: the House Ways and Means Committee, the Senate Finance Committee and the Joint Committee on Taxation.

I honestly do not know where to start with this insanity. Penelope Green at The New York Times asked in a recent article if Americans need an air conditioner. The Atlantic staff writer Taylor Lorenz jumped onto this notion by declaring air conditioning is sexist because, of course, it is.

Last week, we covered the June 22 planning meeting and joint effort of four anti-Israel groups — Friends of Sabeel North America (FOSNA), American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), and U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) — to protest the massive annual summit of Christians United for Israel (CUFI) in D.C. on July 7-9. You can read about the background on these groups and their plans in Investigation: Anti-Israel groups plan disruption of Christians United for Israel Annual Summit.
