Axios ran an article this morning about how the Democratic black women running for Congress "feel slighted by Democrats." 43 black women have decided to run for seats in the chambers, but only Lauren Underwood has received "backing of the national campaign organization." The Democrat Party praises itself for being the progressive party and often props up black causes and people. DIVERSITY! Is this a case of actions speak louder than words? Maybe the Democrats are just like the GOP and care more about winning than sex and race as they've led many to believe.

Embattled Republican Missouri Governor Eric Greitens has resigned due to scandals over an affair and campaign finances. From the AP:
Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens has resigned amid criminal and legislative investigations stemming from an extramarital affair and campaign finance questions. The 44-year-old Rhodes Scholar and ex-Navy SEAL made the announcement Tuesday. The resignation takes effect Friday.

Very often happy to be an American, especially with things like this happening across the pond. Sunday, Fuzzy Slippers blogged about the Tommy Robinson case. Robinson, an activist, "was arrested Friday while filming alleged child sex grooming gang members entering court for trial," Fuzzy blogged.

Tuesday, ABC announced it was cancelling Roseanne Barr's hit TV show after the actress made less than kind remarks about former Obama advisor, Valerie Jarrett. Barr tweeted, "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj." After intense backlash, Barr clarified, saying she was joking. According to the Washington Times, Barr deleted the tweet:

The Islamic fasting month of Ramadan triggered a migrant riot in the German city of Dresden over the weekend, the local newspapers report. "Around 50 refugees attacked police after they attempted to stop a fight at a migrant center," German public broadcaster Deutsche Welle confirmed. These people "gathered and attacked officers by throwing lit cigarettes, then kicking and beating them," Dresden police said. The fight took place in the courtyard of a refugee shelter with asylum seekers using "knifes, chairs and fire extinguishers" as weapons, a German newspaper reported. Two police officers and a security guard were injured during the riot. Additional police units were called to defuse the situation.

It's on. It's off. It's on again? That's basically been the status of the summit between the U.S. and North Korea this past week. It looks like North Korea wants the summit to happen since dictator Kim Jong Un has sent an ex-spy chief to America to help revive the summit.

The U.S. has trumped Hong Kong to retake first place among the world’s most competitive economies, thanks to faster economic growth and deregulation that is promoting innovation. The Switzerland-based IMD World Competitiveness Center, which conducted the analysis, had Singapore, the Netherlands, and Switzerland rounding out the top 5 spots.
