It's pretty clear that Democrats are more motivated to vote. Much of that is the nature of opposition -- it gets people more excited to be against something than to be for something. That explains the Republican surge in 2010 against Obama, and midterm surges against just about every other president in the past several decades.

In the saturated arena of anti-Israel political activism in the U.S., the once little-known Washington D.C.-based organization IfNotNow (INN) is catapulting its way to the forefront of the pack. In one of its boldest moves, IfNotNow is planning to train camp counselors to "teach" campers at Jewish summer camps about the Israeli "occupation." Given IfNotNow's politics, described below, the teaching without a doubt will be anti-Israel. Parents who are sending their children to Jewish summer camps, motivated in part by establishing their children's connection to Israel, will be undermined without knowing it and probably without the camp administration's knowledge.

A chemical attack in Syria has left dozens dead.  Assessment is on-going, so reports vary as to how many people were killed.  Early reports say that at least 42 people were killed, with hundreds in need of medical care.  The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is reporting that over 70 civilians were killed. According to reports, the victims of Saturday's chemical attack showed signs of chlorine and nerve agent poisoning. President Trump has responded vigorously on Twitter, tagging Syria's president "Animal Assad" and reminding us that Obama's 2013 empty "red line" threats against Syria's use of chemical weapons emboldened the Russia-supported regime.

Barely a month into her fourth term as German Chancellor, Angela Merkel is facing an open rebellion within her party. Around 100 politicians belonging to her Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and its Bavarian sister party Christian Social Union (CSU) have published a list of demands urging the Merkel-led conservative alliance to return to its Christian values.

The new film "Chappaquiddick" directed by John Curran and written by Taylor Allen and Andrew Logan opened this weekend. It's a straightforward examination of the events surrounding the death of Mary Jo Kopechne when Ted Kennedy crashed his car off a bridge on Martha's Vineyard.

On Friday, April 6, 2018, Hamas staged another "protest" under the banner of the Great March of Return. We already have documented how the previous March 30 "protest" was in fact an attempt to infiltrate terrorists into Israel under cover of civilians. Almost all of the people killed on March 30 were military members of Hamas or other terror groups:

In November 2016, New York City's Trump Tower became the focus of national attention as the unofficial transitional "White House" as President-Elect Donald Trump prepared to take the reins of power. This Saturday, Trump Tower was the epicenter of news again. A fire swept through the 50th floor and claimed one life.

In my New Year's 2018 predictions, I wrote:

1. Republicans will pick up 4 net seats in the Senate, and hold the House with a reduced majority of 10-15. 2. Robert Mueller will bring criminal charges for obstruction (lying to federal investigators) or crimes pre-dating or unrelated to the Trump campaign against more people, but will not assert any criminal conduct with regard to “Russia collusion” or by President Trump. 3. Get ready. This is the BIG ONE. If as predicted Republicans hold the Senate and House, there will be a clamoring for a Democrat candidate who can unify and motivate the Democrat base and establishment sufficiently to defeat Donald Trump in 2020: Michelle Obama.
