Former attorney general Eric Holder is reportedly thinking of throwing his hat into the ring for the 2020 election. The roster of candidates who will run as Democrats will likely be very far left, so he'll fit right in.

Wednesday afternoon, Senate Minority Leader Schumer announced the Senate had come to a budget agreement. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell called the deal “a significant bipartisan step forward.” The agreement keeps the government open for six weeks and provides two years of massive spending hikes.

In the annals of unintentional liberal self-parody, there is a special place reserved for a column by Ruth Mayor, "I detest Trump, but a ‘redneck’ fixed my Prius with zip ties." What makes it so classic is that Mayor doesn't intend it as self-parody. She clearly intends it to reflect a liberal's awakening to the goodness in some people she otherwise wouldn't associate with. So it's basically virtue-signaling in the age of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

On Monday, I blogged about how Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) asked the FBI to declassify the criminal referral he and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) sent to the DOJ over dossier author Christopher Steele. The FBI approved a less-redacted version and Grassley released it on Tuesday, including some parts of the documents that detail why the two senators believe Steele misled the FBI. However, the portion about Steele's second dossier that had information from an associate of the Clintons and member of the State Department remains the same. In other parts, it supports claims that the FBI used Steele's dossier to receive a surveillance warrant on carter Page.

The United States and Argentina are to work together to cut off Lebanese terrorist outfit Hezbollah’s funding networks in Latin America. U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Argentinian Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie declared their intention to cooperate in this regard during a press conference in Buenos Aires on Sunday. Argentina is home to a large Lebanese expatriate population and U.S. authorities believe that the Iranian-backed terrorist group has been raising funds for it activities through organised crime in the region, including drug trade.
