From Obama’s Birthday fundraising bash in Chicago tonight, via RCP (h/t @Allahpundit)(emphasis mine):

“It’s been a long, tough journey. But we have made some incredible strides together. Yes, we have. But the thing that we all ought to remember is that as much as good as we have done, precisely because the...

Obama fundraising fail – let the excuses begin

I previously noted that while Obama had a strong second quarter fundraising, the effort focused on two gimmicks — getting big donors to max out early and running up “small donor” numbers through a cheesy $5 $3 dinner raffle.

Now it appears that the fundraising is losing steam, so Team Obama is...

He just can’t help himself. He can’t get out of campaign mode.

After his absurd “I’m Mr. Reaonsable” speech earlier today, his campaign has taken to Twitter urging his supports to send tweets to Republicans in Congress:

This is laughable and childish.  But it’s what passes for presidential leadership these days.

What a twit.

Update: ...

Obama’s base is trapped

Because they have no where to go, and will hold their noses, lean forward, and give the lever a pull (or more likely, push a button).

So I discount the ultimate importance of this report that Obama is losing his base:

With the 2012 presidential election just over 465 days away, President Obama...

Huge Obama birthday fundraiser day after debt ceiling deadline

Maybe this is why he picked the arbitrary August 2 deadline to increase the debt ceiling.

He doesn’t want to miss his August 3 birthday fundraiser by having to spend time at work dealing with the likes of Eric Cantor.  Hey, there are priorities and then there are priorities.

Which means that on August 3,...

The Plum Line Guys Are Right About Jews and Obama

As you know, I’m highly skeptical of polls showing Jews turning against Obama in substantial numbers.  So, in what may be a first, I’ll have to agree with the Plum Line guys, Greg Sargent and Adam Serwer, about Jews and Obama.

Jews are not going to vote against Obama, at least not on the...

Waiting for the Prize Fight

The Billion Dollar Candidate is counting his dollars like he always does, while telling you how to spend yours.

I don’t know about you, but I want these primaries to be over before they’ve begun, because I feel like we’re watching the down card fights, and we’re waiting for the prize fight.  I’m not...

You will not see that headline.

Instead you will see headlines about Obama’s blowout fundraising of $86 million combined for his campaign and the Democratic National Committee.  Of that amount, $47 million was for Obama’s campaign.

But as The NY Times notes deep down in its article on the fundraising, that $47 million...

The story about a Rutgers professor confronting Rep. Paul Ryan at a Washington, D.C., restaurant over the cost of wine ordered by people at Ryan’s table rightly has been criticized, including by me.

But most of the criticism deals with the professor being a busy-body and snoop, not to mention a hypocrite.

The only way for Obama to stimulate the enormous private sector job growth needed to ensure Obama’s reelection is for Obama to announce he is not running for reelection, which would unleash a wave of investment and economic activity not seen since the Great Depression.<...

It’s all about the message:

Top Obama adviser says unemployment won’t be key in 2012

President Obama’s senior political adviser David Plouffe said Wednesday that people won’t vote in 2012 based on the unemployment rate.

Well no, of course it will not be about unemployment, considering the numbers continue to look dismal:

I still can’t put aside Obama’s press conference earlier this week. Obama was seething with mockery and disdain for almost everyone other than himself, with Republicans in Congress a focus.

To say that the press conference was not presidential is an understatement. Mark Halperin was right, although decorum on television dictated that...

What’s next, a free Slurpee with your $5 Obama donation?

As mentioned yesterday, Obama not only is running a cheesy $5 raffle fundraising stunt, he also is pushing donors hard to contribute something, even if it’s only $5, before the June 30 fundraising period closes.

Whether to pad the dollar amounts or the numbers of donors, or both, the frenzy at this...
