Elizabeth Warren Cynically Proposes Extending Reparations to Native Americans

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has a serious problem, and it just won’t go away. She tried explaining that her high cheekbones, family lore, and Pow-wow Chow recipes meant that she was Native American; she issued denials that she claimed Native American heritage status for years; she tried partnering with Native Americans on gambling rights; and now she’s trying out support for reparations for Native Americans in the vain hope this one will fly . . . and disappear her decades-long ethnic fraud problem.
For almost two decades she presented herself as Native American in a wide (and widening) array of professional documents. During her political career, Warren has repeatedly denied any wrong-doing with regard to her ethnic fraud, and she even went so far as to take a DNA test and to proudly announce the results, hoping against hope that this would finally put her Native American problem to rest.
She’s also apologized to Cherokee Nation for the enormous insult she heaped upon them by taking the DNA test in the first place, and she’s even flip-flopped on the issue of gambling to attempt to escape her “fake Indian” brand, asserting her surprising support for the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe’s gambling resort.
Warren has a problem, and she is desperate to make it go away as she attempts to be the last Democrat standing going into the 2020 presidential election.
Stacey wrote about 2020 Democrat presidential hopefuls enthusiastically embracing the idea of racial reparations, and she notes that this is not a winning issue for Democrats.
Consider this as well: While you’d think reparations in theory would be a winning issue for Democrats during the primaries, results from a January poll suggest primary voters are looking for someone “electable” who could beat Trump.
With the thought in mind that reparations do not sit well with nearly 70% of the American people, would a Democrat contender who thinks making the case for reparations a focal point of both their primary and general election campaigns be considered “electable” to their base voters?
Racial reparations are a tricky issue, as anyone who watches Finding Your Roots on PBS can attest. It seems that most Americans have more minority DNA than Warren has Native American.
But Warren has a problem to disappear, so she’s now expanding the racial reparations net to include Native Americans.
Warren is so far the only 2020 candidate to float the notion of reparations for Native Americans.
“I think it’s a part of the conversation,” she said when asked whether they should receive some kind of relief. “I think it’s an important part of the conversation,” she added, according to the Post.
Asked to explain her position on reparations, Warren offered few details but pointed to America’s “ugly history” of racism and pointed to her bill to address housing discrimination against black Americans, the paper reported.
“America has an ugly history of racism,” Warren told attendees, according to the paper. “We need to confront it head-on. And we need to talk about the right way to address it and make change.”
“I have a housing bill that talks about more recent forms of discrimination which we also need to address head-on,” she continued.
Gee, I wonder why “Warren is so far the only 2020 candidate to float the notion of reparations for Native Americans”?

Since i figured that out a few decades ago, I’ve come up with other dandy reasons to live Democrat-free. But the systematic racism of the Party is still the biggest one.

She’ll have to be more specific. The good ones? The tribes engaged in genocide? Slavery? Diversity?
EVERYTHING Warren does is cynical. Everything she does is self-serving and dishonest.
She’s never going to be president and that’s almost as satisfying as the fact that Hillary is never going to be president.

liz warren should give her wealth away to the Cherokee Nation. She can keep some of her money, figure out what the average democrat has in their investment/savings account, keep that, but the rest should be her reparations for stealing their minority advantage all those years. These top democrats. Always generous with other people’s money, but they love to make and keep as much as they can.

The entire world has a history of racism. We DID face it head on. We had a CIVIL WAR!!! Once national law recognized that blacks are in fact human beings, states were then forced to FACE and CORRECT their racist laws until racism became more of an entitlement issue than a present day problem.
I didn’t realize until reading it today that fewer black Americans see race as a problem than whites and that this has been true for decades. You would never know it listening to these self-loathing white liberal Democrats. They are so desperate to shore up their slipping grip over the black vote that they have to resurrect ancient history to create yet another phony race issue.
If anyone should pay reparations it’s the Democrat party for all of the lies they have told black people for the past two centuries.

Teh 3/5 compromise was only used for purposes of approtioning house seats according to population. The 3/5 compromise was an anti-slavery compromise. The pro slavery south wanted the slaves to be counted as a whole person for purposes of apportionment of congressional seats in order to have more house seats. The anti slavery North wanted the slaves to be counted as zero for purposes of approtionment. The compromise was 3/5ths person.

We’ve already been paying them reparations for a long time now. They’re all on welfare. There is no industry and no jobs on these massive reservations. There is no upward mobility or even a culture that pushes self-determination. They’re mostly drunks living on the dole the feds give them. It’s terribly sad to see.

I am against reparations, but if we were to have such Native Americans would deserve far more than blacks. Blacks were a valuable asset and were generally well fed with decent lodging, blacks were not systematically exterminated.
Today, and for some time, Native Americans do operate businesses on reservations, and they do enjoy many benefits of living in a sovereign nation.
Native Americans do have a weakness where alcohol is concerned, my native grandparent most certainly did. Fortunately, I do not.

You are not guilty for things you had no part in and you pretty much can’t get any more innocent than not even being born yet when a lot of this stuff was going on!
Blacks do not want us to get over it. The Bureau of Indian Affairs in Washington makes rules that make it almost impossible for Indians on the reservations to get ahead.
At the Pine Ridge Reservation, the property legally belongs to everyone on the Reservation. No individual can get title to a foot of it. This means that no one can build a store or factory because they do not own any specific piece of land. The bureaucrats in Washington see nothing wrong with this arrangement.
