Duffy Orders Emergency Shutdown of 110 Truck Driving Schools
Meanwhile, the border patrol in Arizona arrested 95 illegal alien truck drivers earlier this month.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced an emergency executive shutdown of 110 commercial driver’s license schools.
“So these are driving schools that account for 5,000 of the violations for English proficiency,” Duffy explained at a press conference. “What I mean by that is, you have to speak English to operate a commercial motor vehicle.”
The English proficiency rule has been in place for decades.
DOT also shut down an additional 160 schools:
We also have shut down 160 additional schools. These are schools that, in essence, certify that they are qualified to train truck drivers.
However, they don’t have adequate space to put a potential driver in a truck and have them go around the cones and do the turns, and they don’t have space to even allow the truck driver to actually get behind the wheel and drive.
They have unlicensed instructors. So you have instructors who aren’t certified, who are allegedly training the new truck drivers to operate on American roadways, and they often times didn’t have classrooms. One school that we’re shutting down was so flippant as they told us their classroom was the school bus that was in the backyard. That was the classroom for which they were training new truck drivers. So you have fraud throughout the schools.

Duffy has long tracked these CDL schools since a deadly crash in Florida in August 2025. The suspect is an illegal alien who unlawfully received a CDL in California.
We’ve seen way too many deadly crashes involving illegal aliens who cannot speak English:
- Duffy Threatens to Withhold Millions From PA After Terror Suspect Received CDL
- Another Illegal Alien Truck Driver Released Under Biden Involved in Deadly Crash
- Chinese Bus Driver Involved in Crash that Killed 5 in VA Couldn’t Speak English, Got CDL in NY
- ICE Issues Detainer for Haitian Illegal Alien Charged in Fatal Pennsylvania Trooper Crash
- Illegal Alien Gets Less Than 5 Years in Prison for Crash That Killed Three People
Duffy revealed that one state has only 10 skill testers, who issued 2,000 licenses to people who cannot speak English.
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Derek Barrs pointed out a few driving schools:
Platinum Plus Truck Driving School in California certified 36 drivers who were later cited for these English language proficiency violations, and one of these trainees killed someone in Oklahoma that should have never been on the roadway. ASC Technical Institute in Texas certified 58 of these drivers, and one of these trainees ran a stop sign and killed a local man in a Texas county. It’s unacceptable. When you see people die on the road, you don’t forget that, and it starts right here with what I’m talking about.

Barrs said the department investigated 400 training schools, 40% of which failed to meet the rules and requirements:
And a couple of those examples. Again, in California, operators claimed their classroom was the back end of an open semi trailer. Their primary instructor was out of the country. That should tell you something.
The people conducting the training didn’t possess CDLs, and students were driving commercial vehicles unmonitored.
At Angel’s Transportation in New Jersey, they were in a small parking lot. They couldn’t even do the maneuvers because the parking lot was too small. When schools certified underqualified drivers, these drivers get behind the wheel of 80,000 pound truck that we’ve mentioned, and they kill people. That should that should make you all upset, and they they are responsible for hundreds of deaths in this country.

The border patrol also informed Fox News that agents arrested 95 illegal alien truck drivers earlier this month in Arizona.
The illegal aliens possessed commercial driver’s licenses, 76 from California and six from New York.
“We are committed to protecting our citizens from all international threats, whether that is from unlicensed or untrained drivers, or transnational criminal organizations engaged in human or drug trafficking,” Acting Chief Patrol Agent Dustin Caudle told Fox News.

I voted for this!
Criminal indictments?
A big rig with a suspect operator is a fatality waiting to happen. Next in line would be law suits against schools as well as illegal drivers. My youngest brother has seen this problem for years around NW NC. Recently he bought a dump truck for his business and like any owner he needs to be able to operate it and not dependent on a new hired driver.
The classroom part was easy for him and then came the road driving. He was paired with an old veteran driver who leveled with my brother: ‘I know you will pass the training course, no problem. My job is to find out how much you know….” ‘Nuff said and my brother is operating his truck when needed. The school has been caught I understand so all was well just in time.
For a bit extra they also get a voter registration card.
This reply was meant for Johnny Dollar, for his “The Back Door CDL Matter”.
Expense report item #1., Mexican food lunch at a truck stop, $9.
Mexican?
If you’re not part of the road warrior crowd, you may have missed the burgeoning availability of new Indian restaurants at truck stops. RVing through small towns on the interstates, we often see on Yelp the availability of Indian food, and when we get to the address, we discover we can gas up and weigh our rig for dessert.
I firmly believe that most, if not all, of these “licenses” were issued “out the back door” of the DMV.
In other words, individual DMV workers were getting bribed to issue licenses to anyone who paid the asking price.
Each one of these licenses comes with a paper trail, I would presume, and the specific employee who gave the final approval for the issuance should have a long chat with law enforcement.
Faced with the prospect of imprisonment, perhaps they would find it expedient to identify the principals behind these fraudulent licenses.
Somehow, I suspect that never happens.
Faith in government appears to be collapsing at an accelerating rate. Corruption has been institutionalized, and self interest has replaced public service. The young have become frightfully cynical and disconnected, which makes them easy targets for demagoguery. Both major political parties have no integrity, and appear to be motivated solely by whatever it takes to remain in power. This is the classic recipe for revolution, which could be sparked by a variety of social stressors.
Maybe not right away, but we are getting closer by the day. That’s all I got to say, so let there come what may!
An article appeared earlier this year stating that, indeed, the CA DMV had a special counter for the illegals to obtain their licenses. There was no testing of any kind. A whistleblower aired that information. the whistleblower was fired, IIRC.
Some states allow the cdl school to administer the driving test.
After CDL school’s certification, the state issues the cdl.
160? Why so few? How many hundreds more are there that need to be shut down? And how many thousands of drivers who need to be taken off the street and deported?
I believe the cumulative total shut down is now roughly 16,000. The DoT had shut down about 7,500 by Dec of ’25 under Sec Duffy so DoT is accelerating the pace of closures so far this year over last.
What about all the licenses that were issued due to these schools? They need to be revoked.
This is a symptom of something that needs a better name. “The Orchestration Coalition”, perhaps.
We, citizens are work-units for them to direct, to serve greater goals, especially the advantage of non-citizens. It’s our job to build roads for them to operate on as they see fit, because they deserve to do the things; we don’t.
Maybe “The Atonement Arbiters.” We’re guilty of whatever, maybe getting lucky to get born in the US, for which we must atone. Say three land acknowledgements, and contribute your home to recent arrivals.
It used to be harder to become a priest doling out penance. I do wonder what bosses get their cut of this modern cleracy’s operations.
“However, they don’t have adequate space to put a potential driver in a truck and have them go around the cones and do the turns, and they don’t have space to even allow the truck driver to actually get behind the wheel and drive.”
Quality Stearing Center.
No bum stears!
“No Comprendo Semi Academy”
More laudable action from #47’s Administration, that never would have happened under an “America last,” perennially illegal alien-coddling/enabling Dhimmi-crat president.
People in these accidents need to sue the schools fraudulently issuing these licenses. MAYBE if they start suffering multi million dollar judgements when somebody unqualified they gave a license to kills somebody on the road it will change.
Good idea, except that by the time you file the suit, the building is empty and everyone associated has left the country.
Is it only me who wonders how we managed to cultivate a federal government so deliberately stupid that natives of the country boasting the lowest IQ on the globe can scam them out of billions of dollars with impunity and get away with it?
Civil liability now being applied to freight brokers as well as employers will help push the ‘graduates’ of these training schools off the road. Annual site visits by DoT to every CDL training program is gonna be a must. The era of high trust and/or ‘nobody would do this/that b/c its illegal and dangerous’ is well behind us. Beyond that States gonna have to be pressured to partner with DoT and ICE to bring back into 24/7 operation all the weigh/inspection stations for commercial vehicles. If they refuse then suspend ALL their future CDL issuance and restrict any CDL already issued by that State or CDL driver training in that State to be valid only within that State.
Now I wonder who has been driving Miss Daisey all these years and how many accidents have they gotten into,
“36 drivers who were later cited for these English language proficiency violations, and one of these trainees killed someone in Oklahoma that should have never been on the roadway.”
That doesn’t just dangle, it plummets to its death.
Entrance Exam: A single multiple-choice question testing if you can successfully point at a steering wheel.
Final Exam: In order to graduate, students must master the art of nodding politely at a Highway Patrol Officer while understanding zero percent of what they just said.
The original entrance exam question was “Can you drive a truck? Y/N”
But too many students couldn’t read it.
Why were not these actions performed by 1 pm, January 20, 2025?
Sean Duffy gets the job done, again.
