Democrats Post Support for Tish James Amid Arraignment on Federal Mortgage Fraud Charges

“This is about all of us, and about a justice system which has been weaponized. A justice system which has been used as a tool of revenge. […] And a justice system which unfortunately is being used as a vehicle of retribution. “

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) was arraigned in a federal court in Norfolk, Virginia, on Friday, where she pleaded not guilty to mortgage fraud charges two weeks after grand jury handed down her indictment.

The remarks she gave outside the courtroom to a crowd of supporters as she was leaving to head back to New York were the height of chutzpah, given her and her party’s history of weaponizing the justice system against Donald Trump:

“I want to thank all of you. I want to thank each and every one of you. I want to thank you for your prayers. I want to thank you for your emails. I want to thank you for your support.

“It has strengthened my spirit. And it has anchored my soul. And so, I want to thank you.

“But this is not about me. This is about all of us, and about a justice system which has been weaponized. A justice system which has been used as a tool of revenge. This justice system which has been used as a tool of revenge – and a weapon against those individuals who simply did their job and stood up for the rule of law. And a justice system which unfortunately is being used as a vehicle of retribution.”

Watch:

Not surprisingly, the “no one is above the law” Democrats who waged a continuous lawfare war on Trump throughout his first presidency and the four years he was out of office are lining up behind James in a show of solidarity, because nothing says “we stand for the rule of law” more than standing by a woman who made political retribution against Trump the primary driver of her political campaigns for public office:

Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) had to invoke race into the discussion because of course:

But the facts, as it turns out, don’t care about James’s feelings nor those of her defenders, as others observed:

Last but not least, some final thoughts from Tish James herself, from February 2024:

When powerful people cheat to get better loans, it comes at the expense of hardworking people.

Everyday Americans cannot lie to a bank to get a mortgage, and if they did, our government would throw the book at them.

There simply cannot be different rules for different people.

Except when you have a (D) beside your name, apparently.

Democrats have become the party of criminals and other deplorables.

She is making this a racial civil rights battle. More of a civil blight.

She is the noble Negro woman who fought oppression to work her way into power, and the evil white power structure is doing whatever it can to bring her down!

    /did I do that right?

They don’t care how guilty she is, she’s a good person (meaning a Democrat who hates President Trump) therefore it’s unethical AND immoral to prosecute her.

It’s a strange way of looking at things but seems to make the moral reasoning incredibly simple.

We are going to witness the second OJ trial and like before will be shocked by jury nullification!

“This is about … a justice system which has been weaponized. A justice system which has been used as a tool of revenge.”

Tish, do you even hear yourself? You ran for office with the express intent of weaponizing the justice system as a tool of revenge against one man, Donald Trump. And then you contorted the legal system to do it.

But, here, it looks like they’ve got the goods on you on run-of-the-mill mortgage fraud.

Cry me a river.

She claimed it was a crime to disagree with her on the value of property in order to get a loan — a loan that was paid off, which the lenders agreed to. A loan made between a world-class real-estate developer and banks with access to their own world-class real-estate experts.

She claimed the banks were defrauded — the banks sent people to testify they weren’t.

An honest judge would have tossed the case as soon as the defense answered.

“An honest judge would have tossed the case as soon as the defense answered.”

Of course. In these times the term “honest judge” provides the perfect example of an oxymoron. We have few to none of those. Especially in New York which has been in a race with California for the most corrupt state. New York has won. As the citizens of NY don’t mind corruption so much as they would like to get in on it, I have little hope she will get convicted. Having spent about the first 40% if my life in NYC, I know the depths of the depravity of the people there. They combine the personality traits of stupidity, intolerance, and dishonesty. We will get hung jury, one that should be hanged.

At least this witch will be getting a jury trial.

Trump got railroaded by her and “Judge” Engoron, who together manufactured a bench trial where the judge acted as judge, jury and prosecution (he created his own values for the Trump properties). It was a kangaroo court!

As is said, “If Democrats didn’t have double standards, they would have no standards at all.”

Expect the Democrats to do exceptional cheating in 2028 so they can return to Power and take revenge on ALL conservatives.

Can’t claim retribution if you’ve done no wrong

Democrats sure do love their criminals.

“This is about all of us, and about a justice system which has been weaponized. A justice system which has been used as a tool of revenge. […] And a justice system which unfortunately is being used as a vehicle of retribution. “

She’s right. That is what it’s about. Four years of it under Biden’s nominal control. She was one of the Dems who made the rules; Trump is just playing by them.

Donald Trump and his allies are trying to bully @NewYorkStateAG as an act of political retribution.

Retribution for what, I wonder. Revenge for what? “Mommy, he hit me because I hit him first”.

“A president obsessed with revenge”

Should he not be? Does he not deserve revenge? If you don’t start up with someone, he’ll have nothing to avenge.

“When you come for the King, you best not miss.” Omar Little

Hmmmmm, maybe this is why they keep referencing DJT as a King. They came for him, and they missed.

I’m convinced Tish went after Trump because of his political views, and expecting a cash reward from the Dem party for her actions, perhaps a judgeship from a Dem administration, or a pipeline of graft from their government funded nonprofits. Having supported her through the prosecution, the Dems can NOT cut her loose. She knows too much, and if the NY Times and Dem leadership throw her under the bus for her actions, she can talk.
