Networks Offering RNC Sweet Deals to Host Republican Primary Debates
DeSantis is already boycotting the NBC family.
Axios reported that TV networks had offered some sweet pitches to the RNC to host the Republican primaries.
CNN
Axios found out that CNN CEO Chris Licht told the RNC that the debates would air on TV and the Discovery channels, streaming services, and digital channels.
Licht even “offered to partner with a conservative-leaning outlet on the debates.” If CNN gets the debates, he would appoint a journalist from that outlet as a co-moderator.
NBC
The NBC News pitch sounds similar. The debate would air on NBC, MSNBC, Telemundo, CNBC, streaming services, and digital channels.
NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt would serve as moderator. Someone from CNBC or Telemundo would co-moderate.
However, Ron DeSantis said he would boycott any debates on NBC after Andrea Mitchell admitted she used “‘imprecise’ language in a question to Vice President Harris that implied DeSantis didn’t want slavery taught in schools.”
Mitchell asked: “What does Governor Ron DeSantis not know about black history and the black experience when he says that slavery and the aftermath of slavery should not be taught to Florida schoolchildren?”
But even in her statement, Mitchell took a shot at DeSantis: “But he has opposed the teaching of an African American studies curriculum as well as the use of some authors and source materials that historians and teachers say makes it all but impossible for students to understand the broader historic and political context behind slavery and its aftermath in the years since.”
Saying one was "imprecise," when what they said was a blatant lie, is not an apology.@MSNBC /@NBCNews should not be viewed as an objective media organization. Stop letting the corporate media be the gatekeepers of truth.https://t.co/rGj7uc8kEm

Fox News
Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum would moderate the debate. Donald Trump hasn’t said yes or no to the first debate on Fox in August.
But Trump is still chummy with Sean Hannity.
I wonder if Trump would say yes if Hannity moderated the debate.
Other Networks
- ABC News has expressed interest in the New Hampshire primary debate, which it co-hosts every year with its New Hampshire affiliate WMUR, in addition to a possible fall debate.
- CBS News has indicated it would prefer to host a debate in 2024, when there presumably will be fewer candidates to wrangle on a stage.
- PBS submitted a bid to the RNC to host a debate, Nick Massella, a spokesperson for PBS NewsHour, confirmed to Axios.

So who will be watching? Nothing worthwhile will be said.
Just a bunch of Uni Party clowns.
Not my monkey’s, Not my Circus.
DeSantis isn’t a uni-party shill.
If Karl Rove supports him, the he is by definition a uni-party shill.
So if David Dukes supports Trump, is Trump a racist? When was it determined that the person being supported had any control over who supports them?
As much as I dislike Rove and his ilk, I would not categorize him as a demented racist. My point is simply that Rove has a rational basis to supporter him, and it bodes ill for anyone who expects DeSantis to stand against the establishment.
Maybe a better way to phrase my response is, I don’t expect President Trump in any way would further the policies of any lunatic fringe racist or Nazi, even with a neo in front of it. But would Desantis further the establishment’s policies? Rove thinks so and so I prefer to support President Trump.
And, Hitler liked Alsatian Shepherds. So do I. That does not define me as a Nazi.
Let me walk that back. I shouldn’t resort to such rhetoric but it sort of instinctive when I’m hit with obnoxious sarcasm.
I guess I should add, do you really think liking Alastian Shepherds is one criteria for being a Nazi? What about funny mustaches? Being a vegan? (well maybe that one)
Stop it just stop.
1. NOBODY cares about Karl Rove. Go outside and ask random people what Karl Rove has done in the last year. Your answers will be I don’t know or who is Karl Rove
2. Karl Rove is irrelevant get the F out of 2004, there are voters literally born after Karl Rove’s relevance in politics ended.
3. Trying to take an irrelevant man from the past in order to create a boogeyman you dehumanize in order to taint someone with (what at this point is imaginary) guilt by association is truly the work of a jackass.
Stop it, just stop you are better than that and it isn’t 2002.
The only people discussing Karl Rove are the people trying to create a boogeyman.
Which shows that people like you are 100% in for Biden.
Fine. Take your chances with DeSantis. Be careful what you wish for.
They GOPe will turn on De Santis if he’s elected, just like they did Trump.
Actual Neo-Nazis support Trump, does that make him by definition a Neo-Nazi?
Not aware of any “neo-Nazis” who support President Trump, although not sure what definition of “neo-Nazi” you’re using. According to the mainstream media, every Trump supporter is a neo-Nazi. Rove is distasteful but not a Nazi, neo or otherwise. He is making a calculated, rational decision to favor Desantis. So, like I said above, don’t expect Desantis to oppose the establishment in any significant way. And by the way, your comment just parrots the above comments, but you add neo to your Nazi.
Reject all Dumb-o-crat media shills, lapdogs. trained seals, propagandists and outlets. Take the conservative message about competent and sane governance directly to the people.
This election needs to be about the Dumb-o-crats’ totalitarian, lawless, destructive and histrionic Wuhan virus response and diktats; the Dumb-o-crats’ open borders insanity and enabling of illegal aliens; the Dumb-o-crats’ perennial and indefensible coddling/enabling of criminal sociopaths, especially in urban areas; the Dumb-o-crats’ enabling/cheerleading of tranny child-grooming/sexualization/indoctrination and obnoxious misogyny; the Dumb-o-crats chimeric, unworkable and destructive “green” energy conceits/schemes and the Dumb-o-crats fiscal profligacy and mismanagement.
Agree. We have some great America-First news outlets. Use them!!!
Like, LI and Professor Jacobson — that would be a great platform!!
Yep. Bypass the traditional media whenever possible.
And, not be seen.
I’m certain that Ronna Romney McDaniel can not wait to seal the deal with the devils and probably already has ‘beauty’ appointments scheduled till kingdom come 😉
I can’t think of a single reason to use any MM outlet.
Because they melt in your mouth, not in your hand!
NBC should be avoided as they are proved to be dirty when it comes to political news.
Plug any of them into that sentence and it’s true.
All traditional networks have proven unworthy of hosting a debate, even FNC. I think that the first law of a debate is for rules for moderators on the subjects that they can ask. Then they must allow all participants to answer the SAME questions. There can be no personal questions asked of any candidate or any personal comment made by one candidate about another. The public needs to know where the candidates stand on the issues and what their solutions are, not ad hominem attacks and name-calling. The past few debates have been nothing but entertainment TV with no real value to the voters. Everyone loves personal attacks and the fireworks that follow, but we learn nothing from them about how the candidates will solve the problems facing us.
“NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt would serve as moderator. Someone from CNBC or Telemundo would co-moderate.”
Now there’s an offer that any Republican worth the name should walk resolutely past with eyes fixed straight ahead.
Amen!
You’d be better off watching it on Rumble.
Why are journalists moderators of party events, anyway? Shouldn’t it be a party member who is moderating?
They shouldn’t have a single host. Move the debates around, and let Joe Rogan and Tucker Carlson (once he gets his new operation up) host one as well.
Musk should offer to host it on Twitter.
I can hear the heads exploding already.
Hosted by Hillsdale college. Moderated by Prager.
Best idea yet.
Remember: an utter idiot name Ronna Romney is the Chairwoman of the GOP. It’s hopeless.
Odd that CNN is making an offer that sounds tempting.
of course we know them too well.
Don’t fall for a trap from the Democrats Propaganda Ministry
It really doesn’t matter to me anyway. I get my information about the candidates from other sources and don’t bother to watch the so-called debates.
Yahbut, it’s so thrilling to see those seminal moments, such as when every Democrat candidate to a wo/man pledges to give illegal immigrants free federal medical care.
It’s just like the thrill you get when the magician at the circus puts a lady into his cabinet, then when he re-opens it, instead of the lady being gone, there’s a tiger who mauls the magician and then leaps into the audience.
Ronna ROMNEY McDaniel would never agree, but I would take every dollar from these networks and spend it on ballot harvesting and methods to stop voter fraud from Democrats,
