After Months of Rioting and Looting, Black Lives Matter Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

The revisionism of the violent history of the 2020 Black Lives Matter “protests” continues.

We reported last week on how the New York Times was spinning like tops to explain the supposed differences between the Antifa/Black Lives Matter-led riots from last year with the Capitol riots that took place earlier this month.

For those who missed it, the paper claimed the destruction and havoc wreaked by anarchistic agitators for over six months in 2020 amounted to “isolated instances of property destruction.” The phrase “isolated instances/incidents” was used three times in the piece.

Here we are a week later, and we’re learning that the violent group has actually been nominated for a 2021 Nobel Peace prize:

In his nomination papers, the Norwegian MP Petter Eide said the movement had forced countries outside the US to grapple with racism within their own societies.“I find that one of the key challenges we have seen in America, but also in Europe and Asia, is the kind of increasing conflict based on inequality,” Eide said. “Black Lives Matter has become a very important worldwide movement to fight racial injustice.“They have had a tremendous achievement in raising global awareness and consciousness about racial injustice.”

Eide, a member of the Socialist Left party, downplayed the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots when asked about them:

Eide, however, said he didn’t want his nomination for Black Lives Matter to be seen as a comment on domestic US politics. And he dismissed criticism from rightwing voices that the group had been behind violence in US cities. “Studies have shown that most of the demonstrations organised by Black Lives Matter have been peaceful,” he said. “Of course there have been incidents, but most of them have been caused by the activities of either the police or counter-protestors.”

Yeah … no.

If cold, hard statistics don’t do it justice, the photos certainly do:

Let’s also not forget that Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters were viewed as such a violent threat to the White House that a fence was erected last year to keep the groups at bay after churches and other buildings near the White House were set on fire:

Contrary to the media’s/left’s fantastical attempts at completely revising the history of last year’s looting, rioting, and destruction in Democrat-run cities at the hands of BLM and Antifa, the record speaks for itself. Legal Insurrection has an extensive archive not just of the “protest” violence that occurred last year but all the way back to 2014 and the Ferguson riots, which saw the birth of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Lastly, if photos and statistics don’t convince anyone as to the violence the BLM movement is capable of, just listen to the words of one of its leaders and decide for yourself:

Here’s what another BLM leader said after some of the looting and rioting that took place in Chicago last summer:

“I don’t care if someone decides to loot a Gucci or a Macy’s or a Nike store, because that makes sure that person eats,” said Ariel Atkins, a BLM organizer, according to NBC Chicago. “That makes sure that person has clothes.”“That is reparations,” Atkins continued. “Anything they wanted to take, they can take it because these businesses have insurance.”

Watch:

None of that really sounds “peaceful” to me, not in any way, shape, or form. But perhaps I missed the media/Democrat memos on what the word “peaceful” has been revised to mean these days.
