Operation Legend was launched this summer by the Justice Department and named after 4 year-old shooting victim LeGend Taliferro of Missouri.

Its purpose is to help local law enforcement deal with violent crime.

Attorney General William Barr gave an update on the operation this week.

Danielle Wallace reports at FOX News:

Operation Legend: More than 200 charged with federal crimes, 1,000 arrested, AG Barr announces

At least 217 people have been charged with a federal crime, and more than 1,000 arrests have been made in major metropolitan cities since the Department of Justice launched Operation Legend in July, U.S. Attorney General William Barr announced on Wednesday.

Nearly 400 firearms have been seized by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Barr launched Operation Legend on July 8 as “a sustained, systematic and coordinated law enforcement initiative in which federal law enforcement agencies work in conjunction with state and local law enforcement officials to fight violent crime,” the DOJ said in a release…

Barr said the federal government has dispatched to nine U.S. cities more than 1,000 additional agents from the FBI, ATF, Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Marshals Service to work shoulder to shoulder with state and local partners on homicide and assault squads to crack cases….

In Kansas City, a total of 43 defendants have been charged with federal crimes. Sixty-one have been charged with federal charges in Chicago, 16 in Albuquerque, 32 in Cleveland, 22 in Detroit, 11 in Milwaukee, 25 in St. Louis, and 7 in Memphis, Tenn.

Here’s a quick video clip of Barr:

This report from KMBC News shows Barr is not playing around:

Attorney General Barr: Operation LeGend ‘just getting started’ in Kansas City, 43 charged

United States Attorney General William Barr traveled to Kansas City, Missouri Wednesday, along with Deputy FBI Director David Bowdich and U.S. attorneys from eight states to provide an update on the progress into Operation LeGend…

Barr said Wednesday that since expanding the program into St. Louis, and seven other states, almost 1,500 arrests have been made in the program. In Kansas City, 43 people have been charged with federal crimes as part of the program, 21 of those involving federal gun crimes.

“Bringing federal charges is significant, because defendants arrested for violent federal crimes can often be detained before trial – unlike state defendants who are too often released,” Barr said.

Barr also said hundreds of firearms have been seized from criminals, including 78 here in Kansas City.

“Relatedly, we are using sophisticated federal ballistics investigation technology to pursue more than 500 leads to solve further gun crimes and take even more dangerous criminals off the streets,” Barr said.

All of this is unfolding as Democrats continue discussing the defunding of police at their national convention.

America is truly at a time of choosing.

Dare I say it? A legendary response by the DOJ to stopping violent crime in our nation.

Sentence them to life in Portland without possibility of parole. (Good news, in Broward County Florida the Soros backed State Attorney candidate lost).

That’s a lot of Democrats off the streets.

would it be rude of me to ask, “what federal crimes?”

Meanwhile Barr lets the real threats to our Nation go free!

This is true. He has stated he wants the electoral process to go forward without the obama/clinton investigations not swaying voters.

The problem is, he is not giving voters the information they need in deciding how to vote.

His philosophy is a valid one – if you’re living in the 1980s.

We are living in the age of clinton and obama: it’s a 911 situation, but Barr has us on ‘hold’.

Hi Mark, I suppose you are alluding to The “Russian collusionist “General Flynn, a truly reprehensible hero and/or the legendary mobster and killer, Roger Stone. So dangerous that he could only be taken down by an early morning SWAT invasion. He appears to be guilty of the horrendous crime of lying to a government inquisitor and convicted by a tainted jury and judge.
    So be it.

not everyone is ready to accept the truth!

Arrests don’t count unless they are prosecuted.

The funders are who we want. Perhaps Barr is working his way up, and we can expect arrests of the funders in the year 3000.

get back to me when they have convictions and jail time. until then it’s largely meaningless. kind of like the number of covid tests that come back positive.
