Julian Castro and MSNBC Agree: Media Held Kamala Harris to a Different Standard
“The way the media has treated Kamala Harris has been something else.”
Now that Kamala Harris has dropped out of the 2020 race, Julian Castro, whose campaign is also fading fast, is blaming the media in part for holding Harris to a double standard.
As everyone knows, if there’s one thing every Democrat has to worry about at election time, it’s bias from the mainstream media. At least, when journalists aren’t helping you pick out clothes at a boutique.

Castro slams media for holding Harris to ‘different standard’
Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro blamed a media “double standard” for his fellow candidate, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), announcing her exit from the race Tuesday.
“The way the media has treated Kamala Harris has been something else,” Castro said in a clip tweeted by his national press secretary, Sawyer Hackett, citing recent articles in national publications that described disarray and infighting within her campaign.
The coverage “basically trashed her campaign and focused on one small part of it,” Castro said, adding, “They’ve held her to a different standard, a double standard [that] has been grossly unfair and unfortunate,”…
“I really want to commend Sen. Harris for the race that she’s run. She’s one of the most qualified people running, and throughout this campaign she’s run her campaign with class and with dignity,”

Castro is not alone in his analysis here. Over at MSNBC, a recent panel discussion focused on this same double standard for women, especially women of color.
Brett T. of Twitchy points out a factor that seems to be lost on these folks. They are accusing Democrat primary voters, including themselves presumably, of being racist and sexist:
We’ve seen plenty of hot takes today about how Kamala Harris dropping out of the presidential race for 2020 means the next Democratic debate will be all white people…
But if white supremacy was the reason Harris dropped out, it must be Democrats who are the white supremacists, directing their donations to white male candidates like Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg and Bernie Sanders.

Two parting thoughts. First, when it comes to media bias, is there a single Democrat willing to walk in Trump’s shoes for a week? Second, does anyone believe Michelle Obama would face any negative treatment by the media if she jumped into the race?

Yes, they held her to a different standard. She’s half black and is a woman. And that’s all she needs in this age of identity politics. By virtue of an accident of birth she deserves to be a Senator, and she deserves to get a social promotion to President no matter how horrible a candidate she is. Really, she’s a horrible human being who only got her start in politics because she fellated Willie Brown.
Yes, she was certainly held to a different standard: getting into office by servicing Willie Brown’s willie just doesn’t cut it.
However, on the issue of her complete incompetence, she’s being held tothe same standard as any of the malignant dimwits in the current field.
What if the Democrats scheduled a debate and no one qualified?
That’s their entire problem. The Demoratic Socialists are all abiut bringing everyone down to the same “level” playing field and not individual competition with someone rising to the top by their individual efforts. They still have to go thru an election primary process to select a nominanee, a meritocracy process of convincing people to support you by election.

Castro will complain of ANY standard that these fools/tools can’t define themselves, and their standards have a sliding scale. Optional is regional/ethnic accents and very creative and edited personal histories.
A different standard: if your sole credential is that you can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch, then maybe you’re not ready for prime time.
All the more reason to stainless steel, just incase Kameltoe is in the area.
She was held to the same standard all publications should be held to. Have a solid policy and an established way to lead or get the (insert expletive) out.

1. Black female Democrat candidates like Harris are held to a higher standard than other candidates.
2. Somehow it is the Republicans’ fault that Harris’ campaign crashed and burned in the Democrat primary.

Totally unqualified to run our country. Any time she was asked a question her answers had no substance. So of course she’ll play the race card.
They have a collective amnesia about the way Tulsi Gabbard took her down. But the press did facilitate that. The press gave Gabbard time to attack her, then cut off Harris’ defensive reply, then let Gabbard attack again.
The press has never asked Gabbard a hard question.
