In October 2019, CodePink took another in a long line of trips to the Islamic Republic of Iran on the premise of promoting peace. The latest trip, even more so than the prior trips, amounted to a whitewash of Iranian human rights violations, particularly towards women. The CodePink group was led by National Co-Director Ariel Gold, and included several of her Ithaca (NY) anti-Israel activist friends, including Beth Harris and Amber Gilewski. Britain is heading for a general election in December after lawmakers overwhelmingly voted for the proposal brought by Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The UK Lower House voted 438 to 20 in favor of the "Early Parliamentary General Election Bill," paving the way for December 12 vote.

Senator Kamala Harris' presidential campaign has seen highs and lows since she officially entered the race back in January. Yet outside of the two-week time frame after the first Democratic debate where her campaign looked unstoppable, it's been mostly lows. So how does a Democratic candidate, who has run out of excuses for why she can't recapture her brief flirtation with momentum, explain away her campaign woes? Trot out the trusty, dusty race and sexism cards, that's what.

Last week, we reported that faithful Catholics threw primitive figurines in the Tiber that were used in a Vatican garden ceremony and placed by an altar in Rome’s Church of Santa Maria in Transpontina. The Catholic men were offended that the "Pachamama" statues were more akin to fertility goddesses than sacred Catholic images. In an apologetic statement, Pope Frances indicated that the statues have now been dredged up and may be displayed again.

2020 presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who is Jewish, received the endorsement of anti-Israel Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) over the weekend. Then on Monday Sanders announced his own "quid pro quo" to Israel. He even said he would use American aid to Israel as "leverage" to force the country to "change their behavior."
