Washington Post Falls for Anti-Muslim Hate Crime Hoax

Washington Post Falls for Anti-Muslim Hate Crime Hoax

“falsely reported that a man assaulted her, removed her hijab”

A 13 year old Virginia girl is in big trouble for giving a false report to police about a man ripping off her headscarf and calling her a terrorist.

The Washington Post ran this Associated Press story about the incident:

Man calls teen ‘terrorist,’ rips off headscarf at knifepoint

Virginia police are searching for a man who injured a teen when he held her at knifepoint and ripped off her headscarf.

The Washington Post cites a Prince William County Police news release that says detectives believe the man targeted the 13-year-old because of her “religious attire.” The victim told police she was in Woodbridge on April 6 around 4 p.m. when an unknown man approached her.

She says the man grabbed her arm and attempted to place it behind her back. She says he then put a knife against her arm, calling her a “terrorist.” He then covered her mouth to muffle her screams as he removed her headscarf before fleeing.

It’s amazing that at the time of this writing, the Washington Post still hasn’t updated the story to note that it’s false:

WJLA News in Washington, DC has the updated, factual version of the story:

Police: Va. girl falsely reports man attacked her, removed hijab, called her ‘terrorist’

A 13-year-old girl has been charged by police after she falsely reported that a man assaulted her, removed her hijab, and called her a “terrorist” during an incident last Friday in Woodbridge.

The girl is charged with knowingly giving a false report to a law enforcement officer, according to Prince William County Police.

Investigators say a school resource officer and police learned she “falsely reported” an alleged confrontation with an “unknown black man.”

According to police, the girl alleged the man “cursed at her” and grabbed and tried to place her arms behind her back.

The girl also claimed he allegedly brandished a small knife placing it against the girl’s arms calling her “terrorist.”

As we’ve pointed out before, this type of hoax represents a narrative the liberal media is all too eager to advance.

I think at the top of every Sarah Sanders press conference she should call out each of the day’s fake news and put that news organizations reporter who is in the room on the spot to defend or refute the fake news. This should be before she takes any loaded questions from the jackals.

Falls for or jumps?

Terrorists use violence to silence their opponents and get others to sympathize with their demands. I guess the shoe (or hijab) fits in her case.

Color me skeptical.

She, and the rest of her family should be expelled from America.

What? No removal of her tongue as well??!!
She’s a 13 year old kid. Probably just got back from the Womens March and got her head filled with ideas.

Warn her and make her do community service. At a local synagogue.

If i ever get angry and lash out at someone, i don’t want it to happen where you make the rules

    You are nuts.

Sounds like the fakers got faked….
The 13 year old girl did her job.

The Washington ‘Compost’ and the other Fake News Media don’t hesitate to publish articles like this because –
1) It fits into their communist ant-american political agenda. It’s called propaganda!
2) They know even if it turns out to be false, a published retraction (if they do it) likely won’t even be seen or read by many.

Not the first hoax of this type. I always wait for the investigation before believing this kind of thing.

Other than a dismissal of their bogus $125 mil lawsuit for monetary damages from the school district in Texas, has Ahmed Mohammed or any other family member suffered any consequences from his hoax bomb hoax? (No, self-exile in Qatar for 9 months doesn’t count)

The girl’s timing was all wrong. A couple of years ago she would have been invited to the White House.

She said it was a black guy who did it. That’s going to be a tough circle to square among the self-anointed class. Oh well, as long as we promote intersectional dialog or something or other and white supremacy, icky Republicans and stuff.

Maybe ex-President Obama can still invite her to tour the Obama ex-Presidential Library and Mosque.

Mike LaChance: It’s amazing that at the time of this writing, the Washington Post still hasn’t updated the story to note that it’s false

The original tweet was time-stamped at 7:24 AM, using the word reportedly. The corrected tweet was time-stamped at 9:17 AM. Both tweets point to the same article “Girl made up story”, and both tweets use the same “Police Line” banner, indicating they are just relaying the local police reports.

WTH are you talking about? Who said anything about tweets? The original story is still there at 3:00 and has not been updated even now.

90% of these “hate crimes” are hoaxes, and it’s trending towards 100%.

Democracy does not die in darkness. It dies from reading the Washington Post.
