It’s John Boehner’s birthday, and he’ll tweet if he wants to
It’s one of those days.
It’s fun to watch politicians play with each other on Twitter, and today, Speaker John Boehner took advantage of an opportunity to take Dems to task over the very public truthiness problems in their messaging strategy.
Because it’s unheard of for Democrats to let an opportunity go to waste, both Nancy Pelosi and Debbie Wasserman Schultz decided to make a laughable attempt to nail the Speaker on his non-existent disregard for the welfare of the elderly. It’s gotten so bad for Democrats that they can’t even wish a colleague a happy birthday without sneaking in a political jab.
#HBD to @SpeakerBoehner and every American turning 65 today. @TheDemocrats are proud that Social Security & Medicare are here for you!

Um, ageism, anyone?
Thanks @NancyPelosi & @DWStweets. Hope you’ll work with us to save them from bankruptcy for future generations.

Zing. Well played, sir. Well played.
I don’t know about you, but I like to see my representatives active on social media. In a world where it’s possible to sterilize nearly every interaction we have with these people, it’s the candid moments that matter.
John Boehner had some great candid moments today.
Speaker Boehner wins Twitter today.

Is this a joke? RT @politico: Obama: We didn't mislead on health care http://t.co/vd5dpyw0La

Unfortunately, they’re completely serious.
Happy birthday, Mr. Speaker! I love your tweets, and I look forward to seeing you unleash your sass where it matters—on the floor of the House.
They may have snark, but you can rest comfortably knowing that snark is all they have left.

Unfortunately, I would be willing to bet that “Mr. Speaker’s” twitter account is monitored and written by a paid staffer, not “Mr. Speaker” himself. But don’t ask him about it, he may start to cry and get all upset, kind of like I did when they re-elected him to be speaker.
Dear Ms Pelosi and Wasserman-Shultz:
Speaker Boehner is not eligible for Social Security until he is 66. You of all people should know that.
They’ve got snark and he’s got tears. Lots and lots of tears…
They have snark, but Boehner has sass.
Well, bless his heart.
Here’s a birthday wish for the Squeaker: may you disappear and but be remembered for the backstabbing disgrace that you are.
Medicare and Social Security? I’m pretty sure Congress exempted themselves from those Ponzi schemes.
