Palestinian Intifada car ramming tactic comes to Ohio State

When it comes to terrorist tactics, what happens in Israel doesn’t stay in Israel.

I was off the grid traveling much of the day, so I didn’t follow in live time the apparent terror incident at Ohio State University where a Somali legal immigrant rammed his car into pedestrians on the sidewalk, then attacked with what is variously described as a butcher knife or machete.

As in many such incidents, initial reports were confused and inaccurate. As Mary detailed in her live coverage, the story started as a shooter on the loose, until the facts sorted themselves out in the media.

Here is the latest from NBC News, Suspect Identified in Ohio State Attack as Abdul Razak Ali Artan:

An Ohio State University student posted a rant shortly before he plowed a car into a campus crowd and stabbed people with a butcher knife in an ambush that ended when a police officer shot him dead, a law enforcement official said.

Abdul Razak Ali Artan, 18, wrote on what appears to be his Facebook page that he had reached a “boiling point,” made a reference to “lone wolf attacks” and cited radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki.

“America! Stop interfering with other countries, especially Muslim Ummah [community]. We are not weak. We are not weak, remember that,” the post said….

A police officer was on the scene within a minute and killed the assailant, likely saving lives, university officials said. “He engaged the suspect and eliminated the threat,” OSU Police Chief Craig Stone said.

Law enforcement officials told NBC News that Artan was a Somali refugee who left his homeland with his family in 2007, lived in Pakistan and then came to the United States in 2014 as a legal permanent resident.

When I heard the story of the car ramming and knife attack, my mind immediately went back to the recent so-called Knife Intifada in Israel, in which car rammings played a prominent role, as I documented in The long list of Palestinian car rammings.

In that post I listed dozens of car rammings from early October 2015, generally considered the start of the current wave of terror, through July 11, 2016, including videos.

The Ohio State attacked reminded me in particular of this attack where a Palestinian terrorist in Jerusalem rammed a bus stop with his car then got out with a meat cleaver and started slashing a man. It took several shots from a passerby to stop the attack:

Apparently the police have a video of the entire Ohio State attack, but it has not been released yet. I expect it will look much like the Jerusalem attack above.

It will be interesting to see the reaction to the shooting of the perp. When Israeli police shoot Palestinians in the act of car ramming or stabbing, there is an outcry from Palestinians and international “human rights” groups accusing Israel of “extrajudicial executions” and threats to take Israel to the Hague for war crimes.

Unfortunately, when it comes to terrorist tactics, what happens in Israel doesn’t stay in Israel.

Sorry, but “a tactic” didn’t mysteriously get beamed into our country. A Somalian Muslim family was admitted and it’s hateful spawn mimicked a tactic that he picked up somewhere on the net.

Tactics don’t kill. Anti white, anti American and anti Christian jihadis kill—unless of course they aren’t allow over here.

Both Israel and America should terminate families of terrorists, out to second cousins.
Flooding America with with people who have no skills, and only suck up taxpayer money, while reproducing like rabbits, is stupid.

In a surprise move today, the Department of Transportation issued a recall of all motor vehicles driven by Muslim in America.

A DOT spokesperson stated, “Our analysis reveals that vehicles driven by Muslims can suddenly veer out of control to either the left or the right and plow into crowds of innocent bystanders.”

This cancer will be the Obama/Jarrett/Soros legacy.

The Mohamed index on this one was =1.

he did it because he was, per his facebook crap, tired of US messing around with muslim countries.
islam strikes again, religion of pieces.

A couple of notes: the cop was there because of the call about a gas leak (fire trucks just left). A lucky coincidence that prevented further injuries.
And it took a long time for the perp’s name to be released. Maybe because law enforcement wanted to search his apartment? Or maybe because of concerns that people in central Ohio might act out against Muslims?
No pious warnings yet about how we shouldn’t stereotype, etc., although perhaps I haven’t searched long enough.

A thought circulating in some CT groups is that the call about the Fluorine gas leak was from the deadhead, or an accomplice.

Tactically sound plan as a ruse to get the building occupants out of the building and more “accessible”, but actually a screw up as the normal dispatch of the police resulted in one of those “Oops” moments.

Maybe. But that would mean not knowing the campus. There are good 15-20 minute stretches most any day (Monday is the worst pick) where a car could find big bunches of students in walkways, knotted outside of buildings.

Granted, you pays your money and takes your frame of reference, but it was an interesting coincidence that the area he went to slice-n-dice was, as I heard it, the assembly area for that particular building.

And as to “pious warnings” Governor Kasich opened mouth and inserted foot when he opined that “we may never know” why the deadhead went jihadi. My God what a poltroon.

True, but I believe we know who threw the alarm and it seemed legit.
And our jihadist didn’t calculate that a Honda Civic wasn’t going to be able to scale a low brick wall.
Kasich was at his worst at the second presser. Rambling, pious, and about him. The university admin hasn’t been warning about backlash. If this had happened at Oberlin, there would be an announcement about building prayer centers, since clearly the absence of that made the guy drive into students and pull out the big knife.

Good shoot. I read the officer may have put in an “anchor” round. To make sure the perp was dead.
If he did one reason could be that these terrorists sometimes also have a bomb, either remotely detonated to the car or on their person. Last thing we’d need is for one of them to do a final destructive act as responders arrive.

Good bet. Listening online to the publicly available police feed, every random backpack or package found in the area was checked by a bomb squad. Well into hour after, as it turned out, the perp was shot.

As Ohio law enforcement and the National Guard knows, don’t bring rocks or knives to a gunfight.
