Caitlyn Jenner, who announced her run for California governor as a Republican, set off a firestorm because she opposes transgender girls competing in female sports. Caitlyn, born Bruce Jenner, dominated the Olympics in track and field. She came out as transgender in 2015. She kept her Republican views, but her stance on transgender girls and sports led to even more backlash.

You don't hear much about it, but there is a growing divide between the transgender community and feminists who adhere to the idea that biology matters and that being a woman is about more than declaring it. At the University of Rhode Island, Professor Donna Hughes, who teaches women and gender studies, is now under fire for challenging the left's position on the issue.

Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has returned a Kennedy family award following criticism for her alleged 'transphobic' views. The author, who received the 2019 Ripple of Hope award by the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights (RFKHR) organisation for her work with a UK children's charity, was attacked by the media and activists for her 'anti-trans' comments where she dared to make a distinction between biological women and transgender.

In February 2019, two Connecticut high school transgender sprinters claimed the two top spots in the Girls Indoor Track Championship for the second year in a row. Three of the biological girls who competed in the 2019 track championship filed a federal discrimination complaint against a statewide policy on transgender athletes.  Although she's the fastest biological female sprinter, one of the girls "nonetheless lost four state championships to male competitors who identified as female."
