SCOTUS has performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and chest compressions on Obamacare for almost a decade, including recently in California v. Texas. Alito Dissent: "No one can fail to be impressed by the lengths to which this Court has been willing to go to defend the ACA...

The fourth and final day of Judge Amy Coney Barrett's hearing includes witnesses brought in by the Democrats to appeal to emotions instead of law and the Constitution and Republicans to explain Barrett's dedication to the law and Constitution. But as the Democrats have proven (sarcasm), Barrett will throw Roe v. Wade and Obamacare into the trash can on her first day on the bench.

Obamacare, the most sweeping transformation to the nation’s healthcare system and economy in generations, is set to go before the Supreme Court one week after the November 3rd election. At stake is not just President Obama’s signature legislation, but as much as 18 percent of the country’s GDP—the future of which depends upon the makeup of the nation’s highest court.

I guess Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham and the Republicans felt they had to address Obamacare since every Democrat claimed on Monday that Judge Amy Coney Barrett would dismiss it. Graham began the hearing with a great takedown of the socialized medicine bill.

A year ago almost to the day, we reported that a Texas federal judge (1) held that the Obamacare individual mandate was unconstitutional after Congress repealed the mandate tax (which was the justification for the Supreme Court upholding the mandate in 2012), and (2) the mandate was not severable from the rest of the law, so the entire law fell. It was a full defeat of Obamacare, Federal Judge kills Obamacare:

Just days after taking office, President Trump signed an Executive Order returning power over health care and insurance to the states.  Although Congressional Republicans clearly have no intention of repealing ObamaCare, Trump went on to further weaken the disastrous health insurance scheme of his predecessor. Democrats are not happy. They attempted on Wednesday to roll back a Trump administration rule that permits states to ignore sections of ObamaCare and to loosen requirements on health insurance that increased costs on individuals and businesses within the states.

Reed O'Connor, a federal judge in the Northern District of Texas, just killed Obamacare. If the ruling holds up on appeal, Obamacare is dead. As a doorknob. Not just the mandate or some other particular provisions. He killed the WHOLE THING.
