The Senate, on a motion to table brought by Harry Reid, just killed the Cut, Cap & Balance Bill passed in the House without any floor debate.

Unlike a motion for cloture, which would have required a day of floor debate, Harry Reid managed to kill the bill without any television clips...

When word spread via leaks to The NY Times and others that there was the possibility of a debt deal being worked out between Obama and Boehner in which budget cuts would be frontloaded with no new taxes on “the rich,” Democrats in the Senate rushed to scuttle any deal, led by Harry Reid.

As...

Isn’t that what this all is about at this moment in time?

We just have to last another 18 months and win the presidential election, and then our long national nightmare will come to an end.  Until then, we’re just trying to limit the damage.

Until he put forth his “plan,” Mitch McConnell...

Democrats have an idea.  Let’s take an additional $2 trillion from the private sector and give it to the federal government.

What possibly could go wrong?

Remember how important it was to pass New START during the lame duck session, rather than waiting until January?

We were told that anything less would have angered the Russians and, in Harry Reid’s words, put nukes in the hands of terrorists.  Any attempt to amend the treaty to clarify the...

The filibuster in the Senate has been almost the only tool available to Republicans the past two years to stem the tide of Obamamania among Democrats.  And as it turns out, thwarting Obama’s plans was in sync with the voters, who made it known in 2010 that 2008 was like a...

Harry Reid Ate The November Elections

The lame duck session has been a pathetic joke on Republicans and conservatives who thought they won the elections in November.

An illegitimate Democratic House and near filibuster-proof Democratic Senate have run roughshod on most issues, and several Republicans have helped them along.

Unfortunately, we have numerous weak links, some of whom...

The lame duck session has seen Harry Reid at his best or worst, depending upon your perspective.

Reid held back a slew of substantial legislation to the last two weeks in order to try to ram through measures which, in a rational world, would have had full hearings and debate.  Reid’s most...

I’m not sure what Republicans in the Senate can do to stop the Ominibus Monstrosity since there appear to be several Republicans likely to vote for the bill (Collins, Bond, Bennett, Voinivich).  Regardless, the Republican leadership and membership should do anything and everything to stop the bill from passing.

Jim DeMint is...

Harry Reid lowered the boom yesterday, rolling out a $1.1 trillion, 1,924-page Omnibus Budget bill, which was sure to infuriate Republicans in the Senate.

To roll out such a provocative bill at a time when Reid has an extraordinarily tight calendar on a variety of social and other agenda items would not seem to...
