The Democrats have been wailing about the Russian influence on the 2016 election, but it turns out, as Mary blogged earlier this week, that they are implicated in creating their own army of fake Russian bots to influence the 2017 Alabama Special Election. According to reports, Democrats spent the same amount of money on fake Russian bots intended to spread disinformation and fake news as the Russians spent on real Russian bots.

Yesterday, Kemberlee blogged about the partial government shutdown, and today, the Senate adjourned until December 27, 2018.  The partial government shutdown will not be resolved until they return. Meanwhile, recent polls show that 81% of Americans believe that border security is "an important issue," and Republican support for the wall, specifically, is on the increase.

A major fight is unfolding in the Democratic party over voter data. Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez wants to centralize the information in a large central database. But many state-level Democrats see this as a power grab and want to maintain their own data.

A student at DePaul University decided to run for political office this year. He set his sights on an alderman seat in Chicago which hasn't been challenged since 1991. He soon learned that the Chicago machine wasn't going to give up its power easily, even if that meant resorting to fraud.

The government needs to come up with spending bills by Friday or the government will shut down. Border wall funding has halted the talks as disagreements between the Democrats and President Donald Trump continue. Trump wants $5 billion, but the Democrats will not budge from their demand of only $1.6 billion.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Office of Statewide Prosecution has opened up an investigation into the state's Democratic Party over allegations of election fraud. From WCTV:
Evidence reported to the Department of State suggests a possible effort by Democrats to have voters fix ballots after the state’s deadline in at least four counties. Cure forms for mail ballots sent to voters by the party show the return date changed from the day before the election to two days afterwards.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) remains confident that she'll become Speaker of the House again, but sixteen Democrats just threw a major wrench into her plans. The Democrats released a letter today, launched by Rep. Katheleen Rice (D-NY), promising to oppose Pelosi's appointment since they promised to "change the status quo" upon their arrival in DC.

You have to wonder if Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) isn't kicking herself and hearing a constant refrain of "be careful what you wish for" drum through her head.  The House is back in Democrat hands as of January, but she's saddled with a rabble of socialist freshmen who are intent on shaking things up . . . starting with Pelosi's much-coveted prize, the House Speakership. Leading the socialist Democrat charge is newly-elected socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).  Not only is she hopelessly clueless about . . . pretty much everything, but she's so sure of herself that she's already attended a protest against her own party, specifically against Pelosi.

We recently reported that over 100 people in the Los Angeles area have contracted the bacterial disease typhus, and the area's public health officials are sounding the alarm about the infectious disease spreading. At the epicenter of the epidemic are the homeless camps, and the Los Angeles Police Department station nearest to the city's Skid Row is battling the rats and fleas that spread the typhus bacteria as the officers attempt to protect themselves from becoming ill.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) wants to become Speaker of the House again, but quite a few Democrats in the House do not want her to become their leader. Eight representatives have already voiced their opposition while two more that won on Tuesday said on the campaign trail that they will oppose her .

Today's the day! Election Day! Have you voted yet? Us at Legal Insurrection will keep this thread open all day to provide updates, analysis, and pictures of all the races across the nation. Will the Republicans keep control of the House? Will the Republicans gain more seats in the Senate? As we learned in 2016, anything can happen.
