Rep. Goldman Lectures, Insults Mother of Fentanyl Victim in Mayorkas Impeachment Hearing

Rep. Goldman Lectures, Insults Mother of Fentanyl Victim in Mayorkas Impeachment Hearing

Josephine Dunn did not tolerate Goldman’s attitude and easily put him in his place. Do not insult mothers, especially those who have lost children.

Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) C-SPAN website made a fool of himself today during an impeachment hearing for DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who did not even appear.

Goldman used his five minutes to make a campaign speech while insulting and lecturing Josephine Dunn. Her daughter Anita died of fentanyl at the age of 26.

How does Goldman start his questioning? As classy as possible!

And obviously given what your experience has been, you don’t have the background to understand what a high crime and misdemeanor is and how it relates to this,” said Goldman. “So I hope that you’re handling that okay.

Um, WHAT?!

Goldman asked Dunn if the border had more law enforcement officers the flow of drugs would stop, obviously trying to get her to agree with whatever the administration is doing.

Oh man. Dunn gave Goldman a huge dose of truth:

I disagree with that, because border patrol is now being used to make sandwiches and to screen people and let them into our country, so I disagree with you.

Taken aback, Goldman’s snugness really came into focus.

So you are saying that…you are upset because the border patrol is…making sandwiches. I think you said, so you don’t think it would be helpful to have more border patrol officers who are charged with stopping the fentanyl trade?

Don’t get an attitude with a mother who lost a child, Goldman. Mothers do not hold back:

I would like the border patrol to be able to do the job that they were hired to do. Every border patrol officer that I have spoken to has told me that their hands are tied by this administration and mister Mayorkas. I’ve been to the border, sir, have you?

The look on Goldman’s face. His response?

More classy behavior:

Excuse me, I’m asking the questions.

Goldman spent the rest of his time on a soap box, spewing out the usual mumbo jumbo from the left that the Biden administration is doing a great job despite the evidence showing the exact opposite.

You can read the full hogwash below.

What a tool.

Here is the full transcript. Again, sorry it is in all caps. I copied and pasted from the C-SPAN website:

Goldman: THANK YOU, MR. CHAIRMAN. I THINK OUR WITNESSES FOR BEING HERE TODAY. I JUST WANT TO EXPRESS MY SINCERE CONDOLENCES. I WAS A FEDERAL PROSECUTOR FOR 10 YEARS WHO CHARGED PEOPLE FOR GANG-RELATED AND DRUG TRAFFICKING CRIMES. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HAD TO INTERACT WITH FAMILIES OF VICTIMS, AND MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU. I WANT TO APOLOGIZE IN SOME WAYS THAT YOU ARE HERE, REALLY, TO SHARE YOUR STORY, BUT BEING USED AS A FACT WITNESS FOR AN IMPEACHMENT INVESTIGATION. AND OBVIOUSLY, GIVEN WHAT YOUR EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN, YOU DON’T HAVE THE BACKGROUND TO UNDERSTAND WHAT A HIGH CRIME MISDEMEANOR IS AND HOW IT RELATES TO THIS. AND SO I HOPE THAT, YOU KNOW, YOU ARE HANDLING THAT OKAY. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT THE CHAIRMAN SAID AT THE BEGINNING OF HIS OPENINGS DATE MEANT WAS THAT HE WISHES THE DEMOCRATS WOULD TURN OUR SYMPATHY INTO ACTION, AND QUITE IRONICALLY, SAID THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE NOT ENOUGH. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT WE WERE AT A GUN VIOLENCE HEARING WERE WE WERE TALKING ABOUT THE REPEATED THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS OF THE TWO MASS SHOOTINGS THAT HAPPEN EVERY DAY. BUT I DO WANT TO JUST GO THROUGH SOME OF THE ACTIONS, TURNING SYMPATHY INTO ACTION. BECAUSE I ASSUME, MS. DUNN, YOU WOULD AGREE — WOULD YOU NOT ? THAT IT WOULD HELP TO STOP THE FENTANYL TRADE AND FENTANYL TRAFFICKING FROM COMING INTO THIS COUNTRY IF WE HAD MORE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS AT THE BORDER, AND MORE RESOURCES AND TECHNOLOGY TO STOP THE FENTANYL FROM COMING IN. YOU AGREE WITH THAT?

Dunn: I DISAGREE WITH THAT, BECAUSE BORDER PATROL IS NOW BEING USED TO MAKE SANDWICHES AND SCREEN PEOPLE AND LET THEM INTO OUR COUNTRY. SO I DISAGREE WITH YOU.

Goldman: SO YOU ARE SAYING THAT — SO YOU ARE SAYING THAT YOU ARE UPSET BECAUSE THE BORDER PATROL IS NOT DOING — IS MAKING SANDWICHES, I THINK YOU SAID, SO YOU DON’T THINK IT WOULD BE HELPFUL TO HAVE MORE BORDER PATROL OFFICERS WHO ARE CHARGED WITH STOPPING THE FENTANYL TRADE?

Dunn: I WOULD LIKE THE BORDER PATROL TO BE ABLE TO DO THE JOB THAT THEY WERE HIRED TO DO. EVERY BORDER PATROL OFFICER THAT I HAVE SPOKEN TO HAS TOLD ME THAT THEIR HANDS ARE TIED BY THIS ADMINISTRATION AND MR. MAYORKAS. I’VE BEEN TO THE BORDER, SIR. HAVE YOU? HAVE YOU?

Goodman: I’M ASKING THE QUESTIONS. THE PROBLEM WITH THAT IS THAT IN CONGRESS, THIS CONGRESS, WE HAVE INTERVIEWED NINE SENIOR OFFICIALS UNDER DHS, AND A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT CAPACITIES. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM HAS SAID THAT IT WOULD BE HELPFUL TO PROVIDE MORE RESOURCES AT THE BORDER TO STOP THE FLOW OF FENTANYL COMING IN. AND THAT IS ACTUALLY EXACTLY WHAT PRESIDENT BIDEN HAS DONE. AND LAST YEAR’S BUDGET, FISCAL YEAR 2023, THE APPROPRIATIONS, THEY INCLUDED 300 ADDITIONAL U.S. ORDER PATROL AGENTS, IT WAS THE FIRST INCREASE SINCE 2011 AND INCLUDED 125 MORE CBP OFFICERS. $70 MILLION FOR NONINTRUSIVE AND ACTION. AND 200 HOUSE REPUBLICANS, INCLUDING EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN SERVING AT THE TIME WHO CURRENTLY SITS ON THIS COMMITTEE, VOTED AGAINST THAT BILL. UNDER THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION, THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY HAS SEIZED MORE FENTANYL AND ARRESTED MORE CRIMINALS FOR FENTANYL RELATED CRIMES IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, AND IN THE PREVIOUS FIVE YEARS COMBINED. AND EVEN IN THIS CONGRESS, WHEN WE HAD THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY APPROPRIATIONS BOARD, THEY OFFERED AN AMENDMENT THAT WOULD PROVIDE MORE MONEY AND MORE RESOURCES FOR THE BORDER TO STOP THE FENTANYL TRADE IN EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN VOTED IT DOWN. BUT THAT’S NOT IT. EVEN WITH THE SUPPLEMENTAL REQUEST FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, THEY REQUESTED $1.2 BILLION TO CRACK DOWN ON THE TRAFFICKING OF DANGEROUS AND LETHAL AND ILLICIT DRUGS LIKE FENTANYL, INCLUDING OVER $300 MILLION FOR THE MOST EFFECTIVE NONINTRUSIVE INSPECTION SYSTEMS. 90% OF FENTANYL COMES TO THE PORTS OF ENTRY, SO HAVING THOSE INSPECTION SYSTEMS WOULD DO IT AGAIN. THE REPUBLICANS WILL NOT SUPPORT THE BORDER WITH ADDITIONAL RESOURCES TO DO THE JOB THAT THE SECRETARY WANTS TO DO. AND SO WE ARE HERE YET AGAIN FOR A POLITICAL STUNT, TO MAKE AN ARGUMENT THAT THIS ADMINISTRATION IS NOT DOING ANYTHING, EVEN AS IT IS NEGOTIATING TO TRY TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEMS OF THE BORDER, AND EVEN AS IT IS TRYING TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF BORDER AGENTS AND TECHNOLOGY TO ADDRESS THE FENTANYL SYSTEM. LET’S STOP THIS SHAM IMPEACHMENT HEARING, AND LET’S GO NEGOTIATE WITH THE SENATE AND THE WHITE HOUSE, WHO ARE DOING THAT RIGHT NOW WITH SECRETARY MAYORKAS TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEMS OF THE BORDER. I YIELD BACK.

What, you didn’t expect that communist retard to have any class did you?

He is such a scumbag.

Goldman is such a POS.

Goldman is an extraordinarily disgusting scumbag even by Democrat standards. Shame on the people who elected this POS.

Since biden 100,000 fentanyl deaths annual.

SF with more fentanyl fatalities than covid. Even the dogs in golden gate park are accidentally finding it and ingesting it.

Open borders biden, americans keep dying

mailman in reply to smooth. | January 19, 2024 at 2:57 am

And each and everyone of these deaths will be BECAUSE of fentinal that 10% China Joe allowed in to the country.

Guarantee you this dwarves deaths to the Chinese Desth Pox over the same period of time.

But guess which one Democrats think is a greater risk 🙄🤬

goddessoftheclassroom | January 18, 2024 at 8:20 pm

I lost my son to fentyal in 2019.

Goldman, surprised would be I if’n he don’t have an alias known as Coleman.

I’m a little afraid to ask this . . . who emits the most slime?

A. Adam Schiff
B. Eric Swallwell
C. Dan Goldman
D. Other

Oh man the smackdown by NOW is going to be epic. Yessirree bob, that organization will be all over goldman aaaannnnyyyyyyy minute now. You can bet your bottom dollar or their name isn’t national organization of wimynz.
Yepperree, they’ll be all over the media denouncing that woman hating sleazebag aaaannnyyy second now.
Tuning into pmsnbc and the rest of the liberal shows, ’cause you know they’ll tear him a new one for belittling a woman like that.
Annnnyyyyy minute now……

A condescending little man, who had every advantage to become the opposite.

If people want

guns/nicotine/opiates

they’ll find a way.

It’s almost entirely demand-driven, not supply-driven.

That’s the reality, but most of us do not want to accept this reality.

If you hve any doubt about this, consider what you would do if you came home one day and there was a truckload of

guns/cigarettes/opiates

at your front door.

Would you become a mass shooter? Of course not.

Would you become a chain smoker? or an intravenous opiate user? Of course not (assuming you’ve never been addicted in the past)

There are chronic pain patients all over the world who use more opiates every day than a lot of opiate addicts. (from arthritis or metastatic cancer etc). These pain patients almost never abuse and they certainly don’t inject.

Addicts who tell you that their doctor got them started on a life of intravenous opiate addiction and homelessness and crime … are not being honest. That would be like saying “I started gunning people down because my neighbor Fred kept selling me guns”

There are extremely effective treatments that eliminate desire for nicotine and for opiates ; however, addicts and their families tend to denigrate and refuse these treatments.

T23, you make a very good point, which is usually overlooked. However, demand and supply are never totally unrelated. Demand is never inelastic. If supply is limited price goes up. If price goes up, demand/consumption goes down. Not proportionately, in this case (unlike gasoline), but still it goes down since new users/consumers will be dissuaded from starting. less dangerous or addictive substitutes will be sought. More treatment will be sought. Not a perfect solution, but every little bit helps. One life saved is worth it to a mother.

    rebelgirl in reply to T23. | January 19, 2024 at 10:35 am

You’re not wrong but it’s not that simple….

A guy like Goldman will never visit the border, as he knows his lies would all fall apart.

Fentanyl gets in to maximum security prisons.

So do guns and lots of other things.

If Mexico sank into the ocean tomorrow, would the demand for opiates be reduced? Not at all, therefore, usage would not be reduced.

The border has nothing to do with opiate addiction and deaths in the USA — except to the extent that employment, wages , and hope-for-one’s future have been gutted.

Goldman is a disgrace

Goldman’s arrogance and stupidity shows again. It seems to be common traits among Democrats. Glad Mrs Dunn put him in his place.

I would never wish I’ll on someone. But, this moron is really testing me.

SeekingRationalThought | January 19, 2024 at 9:07 am

I’m guessing that this imbecile is the proud holder of at least one degree from an Ivy League or similar school? He is clearly well trained in his ideology, much like a gun dog is well trained at pointing and retrieving birds. Equally clearly, and unlike the gun dog, he lacks any analytical skills or intellectual integrity.

Nice work New York, you elected a real a-hole.

“Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) C-SPAN website made a fool of himself today…” in an almost daily occurrence.

Are these Mexicans kidnapping Americans on their way to church and forcibly injecting them with fentanyl? I’ll listen to stories of crime, murder, rape, disease and theft all day long, but spare me complaints about adulterated street drugs killing the innocent.

Many of these drug overdose deaths are caused by people believing that they are buying and taking one type of drug only to find out that the drug was laced with a much more deadly drug, Some people will buy a drug in a certain dosage only to ingest a drug that has a higher dosage than what the body is conditioned to take and they die because of an overdose.

Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY): Voted by his high school senior class as “Most Deserving To Receive An Empire State A**-Kicking.”

Goldman loves sandwiches. I’ve got a sandwich for him.

He’s got the con down pat. If proposed legislation contains useful law, but it also includes waste and redundancy, Republicans will rightfully not vote for it. That gives elitist bullies like Goldman an opening to tell the ‘Ladies’ on The View (et al) that Republicans hate the Border Patrol (et al).

Capitalist-Dad | January 20, 2024 at 10:08 am

Goldman isn’t just a Party tool. He’s a shameless tool.

Goldman claims 500,000 guns are sent from the US to Mexico. He offers no proof. If so, the obvious answer is to close the borders. No reply, caught by his hypocrisy. Remember, after a closed door deposition he said Biden was just talking about the weather to Hunter’s “business” partners. Goldman needs a cactus shoved up his ass.
