We have long tracked the increasing aggressiveness of anti-Israel groups on campus.

See my post this summer, Expecting anti-Israel violence on campuses this fall, for a partial catalog of such instances.

One component of these protests is non-student activists inflaming the situation. For example, on April 10, 2014, after the Cornell student assembly...

This goes to show you that you never can predict which posts will gain traction.

My post Cornell gives deer tubal ligations, everything goes wrong, was meant to be a somewhat humorous take on a bizarre sequence of events. Tubal ligations and ovariectamies performed on does were just the half of it.

We previously wrote about the deer sterilization program run by the Village of Cayuga Heights, NY, which borders the Cornell University campus and has large deer and faculty populations.

After years of bitter debate, Cayuga Heights decided that the deer population would be controlled through sterilization at enormous expense:

A few weeks ago, we covered the story of Columbia studentEmma Sulkowicz, who alleged she was raped by another student.

Rather than pursue the matter all the way through the legal system (she dropped her case), Sulkowicz took her case to the University tribunal. Her alleged rapist was not found guilty by the...

I have noted before the disturbing trend of anti-Israel Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) supporters blaming Israel and/or Zionism for the recent outbursts of anti-Semitism around the world.

I first noted the issue in connection with

Last week we featured Mark Steyn’s column about forced intellectual conformity on campus:

Universities are no longer institutions of inquiry but ‘safe spaces’ where delicate flowers of diversity of race, sex, orientation, ‘gender fluidity’ and everything else except diversity of thought have to be protected from exposure to any unsafe ideas….

As mentioned last night, and as expected, there was a protest by student groups seeking divestment from companies doing business in Israel in reaction to last week’s 15-8-1 decision of the Cornell Student Assembly to table indefinitely the proposed divestment resolution.

About 75 protestors attended the Student Assembly meeting. I heard...

Last Thursday the Cornell Student Assembly voted 15-8-1 to table indefinitely the anti-Israel Divestment Resolution brought by Students for Justice in Palestine and some other groups.

The video of the shouting by students — and one very aggressive non-student — reflected the frustration of the pro-divestment students.

One anti-Israel Cornell professor even claimed...

As readers know, Legal Insurrection has devoted much of the past several months to fighting the academic boycott of Israel and Boycott, Divest and Sanctions movement on campus.

We have relatively few resources, and time. We do what we can do.

We helped expose the American Studies Association for the hateful group...

When the Cornell Students for Justice in Palestine tried to schedule their last-minute anti-Israel Divestment Resolution for Passover week, I assumed that was something isolated to Cornell.  (The attempt was defeated yesterday.)

But maybe not.

Passover starts on the night of April 14, and seders are held that night and the night of April...

The Cornell Student Assembly voted late this afternoon to table indefinitely a Resolution to Divest from companies doing business in Israel.

The decision foiled the last-minute stealth move on the eve of Passover to push the Resolution forward so that the vote would take place next week in the middle of Passover: ...

Being anti-Israel is the easiest thing to be in academia these days.

An example is the recommendation by the National Council of the American Studies Association for a boycott of Israeli academic organizations. The vote of the membership is pending, with voting closing on December 15.

I detailed yesterday how one ASA member,...

It’s hard being a principled member of the anti-Israel Boycott, Divest and Sanction movement.

With Israel being a leader in computer, medical and other technologies, one would have to enter a time machine back to the 1950s to truly boycott Israeli products.

The Cornell Students For Justice In Palestine is a typical anti-Israel...
