Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey (D), has nominated her former romantic partner Gabrielle R. Wolohojian to serve on the state’s Supreme Judicial Court.

Wolohojian is a judge and may be qualified for the position, but that doesn’t change the appearance of nepotism.

The Associated Press reports, via Boston.com:

Maura Healey nominates a judge — and former romantic partner — to the state’s highest court

Gov. Maura Healey on Wednesday nominated an appeals court judge and former romantic partner, with whom she shared a home for several years, to an open seat on the state’s highest court.

Massachusetts Appeals Court Associate Justice Gabrielle R. Wolohojian would serve as an associate justice of the Supreme Judicial Court if her nomination is approved. Wolohojian is Healey’s second nomination to the state’s highest court.

“There is no one more qualified or better prepared to serve on the Supreme Judicial Court than Justice Wolohojian. She will bring over three decades of broad trial and appellate experience, including sixteen years on the Appeals Court,” Healey said in a press release.

“Justice Wolohojian has served on the Appeals Court with distinction and her work is widely respected by members of the bench and bar. She has an exceptional understanding of the law and a strong commitment to the administration of justice,” Healey added.

Wolohojian, 63, would fill the seat vacated by Justice David Lowy. Last year Healey nominated then-state solicitor Elizabeth Dewar to the high court.

Jazz Shaw of Hot Air commented on this:

I had to do a bit of research on this because I wasn’t previously familiar with Wolohojian. There doesn’t seem to be any question that she has the basic qualifications to sit on the high court. She has a law degree from Cornell, worked as a partner at a prestigious law firm, clerked for a judge on a US District Court, and has served as an associate justice of the Massachusetts Appeals Court since 2008. There doesn’t seem to be anything particularly controversial about her.

But the fact is that she was openly in a romantic relationship with Healey for a dozen years. Executive officials are typically averse to appointing their former lovers to high office because of the horrid political optics. If a male politician appoints a young woman he’s been sleeping with to a powerful and well-paying position it’s generally looked upon as a scandal.

Perhaps no one is more familiar with the workings of the Massachusetts swamp than longtime Boston talk host Howie Carr, who published a lengthy post about this on Twitter/X:

Gov. Maura Healey nominating her dumped ex-gal pal for the SJC may be the most brazen hack appointment ever!

A nationwide search’s nationwide search!

“Hold It” Healy turns 53 tomorrow. Her ex live-in heart throb, Gabrielle Wolohojian, is 63.

Hold It Healey dumped Gabe for a 20-year-younger woman, Joanna Lydgate, age 43, who worked under Healey when she was the AG.

Like corrupt Fulton County DA Fani Willis with her boy toy, Healey claims she didn’t start seeing a lot of Joanna until the formerly married (to a guy) mom of 2 was no longer on her payroll.

Wolo owned the love nest in Charlestown that the 2 long shared, later sold it for $2.3 million after she was dumped by Maura for the younger woman.

It was a very acrimonious parting of the ways. Things happened…. trips to City Hall, private detectives (you’ve read about that here), etc.

After breaking up, Maura moved in rapid succession from the South End to Cambridge to Arlington, home of the new younger girlfriend and her 2 kids by the cuckolded husband who’s never been publicly named.

Wolo’s current salary on the appeals court is $213,924 a year. Her new salary will be $226,187.

She replaces David Lowy, another hack’s hack who’s married to Ginny Buckingham, who was running Logan Airport when the terrorists used it as their launching pad on 9/11. The SJC was the Lowys’ reward for a job well done!

The front page of the Boston Herald was pretty good:

Again, Wolohojian may be qualified, but the optics aren’t great.

I guess good licks (not looks) can take you far!

The vile Dhimmi-crats used to care about political “optics.” It was one of the few, grudging restraints placed upon their obnoxious corruption, lawlessness and totalitarian attitudes. No longer.

With a dutifully compliant and obsequious media serving at the Dhimmi-crats’ beck and call and gleefully parroting their Narratives(TM); with a corrupt and politicized FBI/DOJ acting as the Dhimmi-crats’ secret police arm and insulating them from any criminal investigation and prosecution and with Big Tech throwing its weight around on the Dhimmi-crats’ behalf in censorship and in other manners, the Dhimmi-crats are now totally unrestrained in their corruption and in the exercise of raw power.

The new Supreme Court judge should have to recuse herself from every case involving the Massachusetts government since she was a lover of the governor.

She won’t and she’ll get away with it. A Republican and he/she would be removed from the court and disbarred, at the very least.

dems: It’s okay when we do it

Throuples are an abomination and perfect for a beta male.
Yuck.

“Hold It Healey dumped Gabe for a 20-year-younger woman, Joanna Lydgate, age 43, who worked under Healey when she was the AG.”

Yeah, I’ll bet Lydgate did a lot of “working under” Healey…..

pillow talk promises

We should ask Willie Brown and Kamala Harris about this. Of course, Brown only nominated Harris to a couple of (overpaid) statewide commissions, not to the CA Supreme Court, but it’s long been a problem in California.

I fingered her for the job a long time ago

Take a look at who’s heading various Massachusetts State authorities and agencies and you will find it’s a veritable lesbian salon. The baritone babes rule the Bay State. These stern sisters of Sappho lay down the law to our modern minutemen.

Why not? Fani hires her partner…Cori hires her partner…now Maura hires her (former) partner…evidently it doesn’t matter any more

I don’t even have to look to determine the political affiliation of the governor and judge. If either had been Republicans, the media would be frothing at the lips and speaking in tongues.

A “she.” I’m shocked.

Disgusting.. as usual, and yet, she will be approved

““There is no one more qualified or better prepared to serve on the Supreme Judicial Court than Justice Wolohojian. She will bring over three decades of broad trial and appellate experience, including sixteen years on the Appeals Court,” Healey said in a press release.”

Except the person nominated first.

If you haven’t figured it out by now, women can be as corrupt, if not more so, than men.

LOL.

Those crazy lesbians!! Bull-dykes, by the look of Healey.

I wonder which employee she’s going to contract for licking next. All the girls around the governor’s office get nervous whenever they hear that Healey is looking for a scissors …

She will bring over three decades of broad trial and appellate experience
I thought “broad” was a patriarchy term?

Another “issue” femi-Nazis can shut up on, because we now have a few instances (Big Fani and this one) of men screwing their way to the top.

“Having broken off previous relationship, MA governor nominates former lover to high post in hopes she will become future lover.”

This type of “old boys network” has been a feature of the US since it’s founding. Check out the route to getting appointed as a Post Master in our early days. The fact that they are doing it out in the open not fearing anyone or anything is a different animal entirely.

This has been SOP in Massachusetts for a long time. Change the genders, and this story could have come right our of “The Brothers Bulger” by Howie Carr.

As our society, Social Contract, and sense of ethics in any sense collapses the nomination of former [and probably current] sexual partners to office becomes the norm. Mind you, with the Left heterosexual partners seem to be less common.

There sure is a lot of sapphotism going on in Massachusetts these days.

Flashback to gun-control hack Senator Cheryl Jacques, who lost her seat after illegally using government-funded “disadvantaged children” as set dressers for a partisan gun control rally… then magically got appointed to a judgeship, which she handled so badly that six years later the same governor who appointed her declined to reappoint her. Among all her other duties, she allegedly found time to strongarm a dentist over a bill her brother-in-law hadn’t paid.

Nope, the Karens are in charge of the state now, and they’re not even trying to hide it anymore.

Dare I saw Mass was better run under Romney?

Say. Darn! At least the behind the scenes corruption kept everything running. The people who got their jobs because they knew someone were actually qualified for the position
