Authorities Arrest Ex-Southern Poverty Law Center CFO on Fraud Charges
The indictment alleges Heidi Beirich, who also supposedly had a romantic relationship with an informant, helped funnel money to white supremacist groups through informants.
Authorities in California arrested Heidi Beirich, a former chief financial officer (CFO) at the Southern Poverty Law Center, on fraud charges.
The indictment alleges Beirich helped funnel money to white supremacist groups through informants. She also supposedly had a romantic relationship with one of them.
From CNN:
The woman, Heidi Beirich, previously ran the SPLC’s project tracking hate groups in the US and allegedly “oversaw payments of donors’ money” to people inside of these hate groups, according to the indictment. Prosecutors say she shared a bank account with one of those sources, which included funds from the SPLC’s payments.
“I believe she was part of the effort to open bank accounts in completely fictitious companies’ names and make payments to individuals for reasons that that were not accurate as as described,” Attorney General Todd Blanche said at a news conference Wednesday. “This is exactly what we said would happen in a case like this, which is that our investigators and the US attorneys and the agents working the case will can keep on working it even after the initial indictment.”

The grand jury indictment against the SPLC came down in April 2026, including 11 counts of wire fraud, false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
“In order to covertly pay the individuals, the SPLC opened bank accounts connected to a series of fictitious entities,” the DOJ wrote in a press release. “The covert nature of the accounts allowed the SPLC to disguise the true nature, source, ownership, and control of the fraudulently obtained donated money the SPLC paid the individuals. In order to keep the scheme going, the SPLC made a series of false statements related to the operation of the accounts.”
Beirich is “Employee-2” in the indictment, who worked as SPLC’s director of intelligence between 2012 and 2019.
From the indictment:
In 2014, F-9 broke into the headquarters of an extremist organization and stole approximately 25 boxes of documents. F-9 transported these documents across state lines from West Virginia to North Carolina. Thereafter, with the knowledge of Employee-2, donors’ money was used to copy the stolen material after which F-9 broke into the headquarters again and resturned the originals. Employee-2 used the copies, knowing they were stolen, as the basis for a story published on “Hatewatch.” The SPLC used this story to solicit more donations. Thereafter, Employee-2 paid approximately $6,000.00 in donors’ money to F-39 to falsely take responsibility for the burglary.
F-9 remained on the SPLC’s payroll for over 20 years, receiving $1.2 million in donors’ money.
Beirich paid all the informants, including F-9:
During this relationship, Employee-2 and F-9 shared a house and two bank accounts. Between 2015 and 2021, approximately $140,000.00 in donors’ money flowed from the SPLC operating account, through the Tech Writers account, and was ultimately deposited into the joint bank accounts held by F-9 and Employee-2. This amounted to approximately 66% of all money ever deposited into their joint bank accounts. Employee-2 then used donors’ money to pay the couple’s personal living expenses.
The SPLC filed a motion to dismiss, claiming “vindictive prosecution.” A federal court recently denied the SPLC’s motion.
“On this record, the SPLC is not entitled to discovery or dismissal of the indictment,” the court wrote. “The SPLC has failed to offer some evidence tending to show animus on the part of the prosecutors involved in bringing this case and that such animus resulted in the prosecution, the showing required for discovery. Because it cannot satisfy that standard, it necessarily fails to satisfy the higher standard that would entitle it to dismissal of the indictment.”

Love it. SPLC is a hate group. Kill the NGO and kill their influence.
I’m shocked, someone actually did something
When your unattractive
Reasoning on any level for attention and sex is thrown out the window
Really no reason to think you’d be caught in any other administration
Will she hire SPLC lawyers in her defense?
She ought to hire DEI lawyers. It would be appropriate.
Could not have happened to a more deserving person.
TAW.

That’s on her ass?
That’s one.
Search every dark corner of the statutes and apply the appropriate charges to match the criminal actions this and any other NGO officials/officers have undertaken. No more pretending these folks running NGOs are all unsophisticated, kind/generous to a fault, good hearted people, trying to the right thing who just didn’t know. Bump that crap. Sure they get a legal presumption of innocence but they don’t deserve anything more than that, certainly not in using discretion not to prosecute or charge lesser offenses b/c they are viewed compassionately. Max them both charging decisions and at sentencing if convicted.
SPLC CFO Base Salary in 2025:
For this position, the base salary range is $260,000 to $270,000. Internal equity considerations and the average salary of the peer range will be reviewed before making a final offer.
When you talk in such a broad way about NGOs, you do understand that Legal Insurrection Foundation and WAJ Media are both NGOs, don’t you?
We’ve had this jejune argument before. It’s no more meaningful than arguing with the guy who insists that “all men are homos” (taxonomically speaking). We aren’t taxonomically speaking.
Romantic relationship? We need to find this blind man immediately
Why do they ALWAYS look like that…just utterly hideous…angry, over educated leftist women are destroying this country…they hate themselves and they hate anything and everything that is good and pure and righteous.
Leftism is designed to appeal to such people. That’s where it draws strength from. It is also why it is openly hostile to objective standards of beauty in everything from personal appearance to art, literature, poetry, and architecture.
I leaned forward and ripped the mask from her face.
I really don’t know why I should have expected her face to be anything else… But as for the general expression, as for the feelings crawling and wriggling across it—

Authorities in California brought fraud charges. California? Anyone else think that’s strange? This feels like a convenient way to whitewash the SPLCs whole “funding the opposition” problem and have a convenient scapegoat to blame. “We’ve removed her. We are white as snow. Now back to your original programming”
More likely, they purposely botch the prosecution so they can exonerate her.
My understanding is that she was arrested in California, as that is where she was located, but will still face trial in Alabama.
Since the SPLC is based in Montgomery close to the state capitol building, that’s likely.
.
Who would’ve thought the best way to suppress racist white nationalist activity is to bring the SPLC up on fraud charges?
Prosecute sentence put her in jail for the max time possible
