How Many People Actually Watched Trump On Tucker? A Small Fraction of the 200+ Million “Views”
A “view” on Twitter (now X) does not mean someone watched the video, it means only that it appeared in their feed.
For obvious reasons, Team Trump is trying to gaslight everyone into believing that more than half the U.S. population is not only on Twitter (X) but watched the Tucker interview with Trump.
200M views. Tucker vs. Trump is easily the most watched interview in history.
Broadcast with no ad breaks, no corporate filter & no censorship.
Just raw, fascinating insight & honesty that users devour.
X is Breaking the media landscape —forever.

Tucker & Trump interview on X has eclipsed 200M views plus massive clipping audience.
The primary debate on Fox News had around 20M tune in.
10X the views for Trump.
The media landscape is forever changed. pic.twitter.com/hEsXsDbKvn

Let’s start with the facts: the entire U.S. population is 333,287,557 (via the 2020 U.S. census). According to reports, only 23-25% of Americans are on X.
Yet Team Trump is crowing, variously, that 170 million, 180 million, 200 million, 230 million (more!) people watched the Tucker interview. Come on, that’s ludicrous on its face, right? Even the low-ball number makes zero sense.
Roughly 97% of households have at least one television, while only 23% of American adults use X. Heck, X, despite being a popular platform, doesn’t have the same reach as YouTube, Facebook, or even Instagram, which are used by 81%, 69%, and 40% of adults respectively.
If half the country isn’t even on X, how is it possible for Trump’s interview to have so many views? Easy. That’s because the number of views attributed to a video includes those who watch the entire video, just a portion of it, or even scroll past it on their feed without even looking at it. Multiple views by the same user are also counted as unique views. You don’t have to take my word for it, either. That’s information coming straight from X.
I've probably "viewed" Trump's interview a dozen times when I when to Tucker's profile page and it auto played or saw it playing in the feed and when others shared it. But I haven't "watched" almost any of it. "Views" does not equal people watching it. https://t.co/SkqUe0Puhi

As did I since I was tweeting the debate (that I was actually watching) and scrolling past the Tucker interview umpteen times under the #GOPDebate hashtag, seeing exactly zero percent of it. (I will watch it at some point, but it’s not high on my list of priorities.)
We can see the lack of actual views in the engagement.
The views are incredible yes, but look at the actual engagements. Just .08% of the views have retweeted this video. Just .007% of the views quote retweeted. Just 0.3% of the views have liked the video. Just .03% of the views have bookmarked the video. pic.twitter.com/ub0koKWW36

“The Tucker Carlson Interview with me was a BLOCKBUSTER. Could hit 200,000,000 Views, and more!” Donald Trump posted on his social networking platform, Truth Social, on Thursday morning.
Trump later claimed that, at 230 million views, the Carlson video was now: “The Biggest Video on Social Media, EVER, more than double the Super Bowl!” (For context, the 2023 Super Bowl was watched by more than 115 million viewers.)
If you believe the Trump/Tucker interview got as many views as the Super Bowl, I highly recommend you avoid any emails from Nigerian Princes…

Binder at Mashable continues:
Mashable can report that, as of the publication of this article on Thursday evening, Carlson’s Trump interview has received 14.8 million video views on X.
. . . . To break down what this means for Tucker Carlson’s Trump interview: The video itself was actually played only 14.8 million times, for at least two seconds of the more than 46-minute interview — or just over six percent of the total 236 million times someone saw the post on X.
. . . . According to media reporter Brian Stelter, the GOP debate itself averaged 12.8 million viewers on Fox News and its online streams during the two-hour broadcast. And, of course, cable ratings are counted differently than online video views. That number is how many viewers were watching within an average minute of content.
Trump’s supporters, using X’s public view count data, have touted the Carlson interview as a big success. However, the real video view data – the numbers that Musk and company actively now hide from public view – paint a very different picture.
For our Only Trumper readers this means that Tucker’s Trump interview did garner more views than the GOP debate . . . by about two million views. Not by half (or two-thirds!) of the entire U.S. population. It’s still a win, just not the Trump deranged win that’s being touted by Team Trump.
Think of it this way:
Next we should start counting "views" of the car crash at the side of the highway from motorists speeding by but wanting to catch a glimpse out of morbid curiosity https://t.co/nTJ2Uv8ww1

Hint: it just doesn’t matter. As directional data it shows that a LOT of people watched. Clearly a lot more than watched the Fox News disaster.
A LOT of people watched Trump-Tucker. I thought it was interesting, albeit not that substantive.
I then turned on the debate afterwards and after a couple of minutes realized Trump made the right call in missing that event. It was not good (the lack of moderation and the shouting back and forth by some of the B listers). Mike “I sit when I pee” Pence was the worst.
Christie suprised me only that he was less annoying than Pence. Pence essentially out Christie’d Christie.
I thought DeSantis was ok–but he is not a great orator. But he is a soild governor and came off as a solid candidate. But I doubt he brought anyone in from his performance.
Agree with everything you said…the only thing I would add is that there are many people out there you may be reassured by DeSantis as a candidate based on your last paragraph.
DeSantis is not charismatic. But then again, neither was Coolidge.
I don’t know, I thought he was very charismatic in the debate (and in many previous pressers, etc. here in Florida). I guess it depends what tickles your charismatic funny bone. I find DeSantis charming and energetic and caring and intelligent and effective and capable. But I’m sucker for intelligent, effective, and capable.
I guess that’s why I never warmed to the Trump charisma. He had a kind of smarts, but it was always kind of dirty and unfair, and it was a revelation to see someone who was intelligent, effective, and capable–i.e. not dirty and unfair–actually get things done. Especially since dirty and unfair didn’t drain the swamp, build the wall, lock her up, or do a damned thing that was promised. It kind of restores your faith in humanity. A man with a spine, a brain, and the experience to actually solve (not create) problems. A breath of fresh air, really.
Fuzzy, I think we all get that you are enamored with DeSantis, nothing wrong with that as long as we are all being civil. I often talk about group average IQs, but rarely if ever specific people on the forum.
This reminds me of the 1988 NBA three point contest, with everyone warming up to compete for second place.
Larry Legend. Too bad by then his back was shot and he didn’t have legs anymore.
I agree! Trump still had more viewership than the GOP. We all here now exactly how the 200m is inflated. Don’t worry Fuzzy. We don’t need saved.
Has Trump ever said anything substantive? I quit listening to his rallies years ago when he never said anything of importance and only exaggerations and hype. Oh, he whines about how mean the msm is and how bad fnc is. “I’ll end the war in UK in 24 hours”. Never how but we don’t need to know stuff like that. He is an entertainer and compared to most of the others, he is fun to watch but you never learn anything about the future or how the country is going to get out of this hole. To even claim that they got over 200 million viewers is just plain childish. Break it down by age, race, and people who work at night and you will quickly see that it is impossible. Just going by it on X will rate it as a view.
I would suspect that a lot of those “views” were by people trying to find something to use against him that came out of his busy mouth.
It doesn’t matter because the debate was a JV event.
You can call it a jv event but as of this moment in time it’s all we have until someone comes up with a better format. Do you have a suggestion? Would you like to moderate 8 enormous egos on live TV? Whether or not you like the GOP, they had to put together a debate for the people and unfortunately with 8 people there, it was just too many. A better way to do it could be sort of like the college football playoffs. We could have two candidates in a debate at one time and then several more at another time. The winners of each debate could then advance to a more important and eventually final debate. In my opinion, each candidate should be required to answer the exact same question as his opponent with his/her earphones turned off and then the last 15 minutes should be just the candidates asking each other questions.
After all, this is nothing new, all videos on the X channels have 200 million views each.
“According to reports, only 23-25% of Americans are on X.”
Maybe, but you don’t need an X account to watch a video there, just a link to the video. I do.
Also, it’s reasonable for people to decide to watch the debate in real time because they know the Trump interview will still be there for them to watch later.
“Video views are currently only visible to the author within their account.”
Sounds like an easy claim to prove, then. Release the kraken, Don!
That’s true of the debate, too, though, you can see that any time. I think that a lot of this “views” thing is a bit hard to gauge nowadays. I mean I cut the cord over a decade ago, and I typically just catch clips of this or that here or there (YouTube, Twitter, Rumble, site embeds).
I don’t really know how they figure out who watches what on what platform, but I do know that these immediate figures on X are BS. They have to be. The numbers don’t make sense. How can 200 million be watching ANY one thing when we have a population of 330 million? Come on, that many people (or that percentage, anyway) didn’t even watch the moon landing (I’m guessing). Or the Super Bowl. Or anything. That many Americans don’t agree on anything (with the possible exception of the economy being in the toilet right now), much less how compelling a Tucker interview with Trump is.
You are right. But, it’s not MAGA followers that created the rules. It was the Social Media Giants and the Advertisers that came up with these over inflated counters. You felt compelled to write about this obvious issue only when you felt it over elevated the Trump interview.
Your bias level is equal to the commentors on this site. That’s okay. But, I think you need to issue some sort of disclaimer in your articles that acknowledge they are an advocate and not a journalist.
“”I think you need to issue some sort of disclaimer in your articles that acknowledge they are an advocate and not a journalist.””
Good idea – as long as all of the OnlyTrumper websites do the same.
It is ironic that Fuzzy prefers a suit, a polished politician, shinny until the surface is scratched, over someone who blunt. I have come to distrust career politicians.
Take those views down to a tenth if you want. It’s still twice the viewership of the debate.
Oh, I think more people probably did watch the Tucker interview than the GOP debate, something like two million more seems to be the agreed upon number (as noted in the OP). That seems about right to me.
Jesus that’s a ridiculous conclusion
Lol
Not even close
Okay, gonzo, explain to me how and why Mashable is wrong. Be sure to include your no-doubt insightful number crunching on the myriad ways Musk’s changes to public view data impacts “views” vs. number of people who actually watch something. I don’t mind your mockery in the least if you can back it up. Can you? Show me that this is a “ridiculous conclusion” and “not even close.” If you can’t, then please sit down and stop embarrassing yourself.
Yeah, like that’s going to happen.
Yeah, I know, but at least she can step up and share her vast knowledge of internet view logging. You can’t be that cocky and dismissive and condescending without having your ducks in a row, right? She might surprise us.
Sperm whales may learn to fly.
One can draw the conclusion that, since there are more than 430 million active monthly user on X, and that not all of them are American, that perhaps there were many who were not in the US.
Additionally, one can surmise that there is a difference between “views” (or hits) and an accounting of the “unique” viewers who can only be counted once.
But we all know that Twitter/ X must inflate the number of users to create value for advertising $$$.
So, we can also assume that the number of unique viewers is greater than the televised debates, but less than the number of views listed on X.
I’ve always had a soft spot for you, Chief (other Chief). And I still do.
These are the same people who hate polls when they don’t show what they want. Of course, we all know that this number is total BS. Except for breathing, I doubt 200 million of us are ever doing the same thing at one time.
Why do you think the number of views is limited to Americans?? Twitter views are worldwide. So 200 million is no that unreasonable out of the 8 billion+ people in the world
“watch the debate in real time.”
This is what I did. I truly despise watching ‘full court’ debates. The motivation to do so was the hope of full-on candidate crash-and-burns. Sadly, it didn’t happen. Then I watched the canned TnT interview.
Tucker the news-show monologue guy is very good, Tucker the Twitter based “impartial-counterrevolutionary-interview-guy is overrated.
One version of Tucker is the neutral-right political version of a neutral-left Glenn Greenwald; both are somewhat politically slippery when it suits them.
I agree with this. You know, even when he was on Fox and did interviews, I always thought that was his weak point. I did think he kind of pulled out of that with the monster Iowa interviews. But naw. He was showing what he can do, not what he will do. I haven’t got to the Tucker interview with Trump yet, and I see no need to rush. Obviously, nothing happened, or we’d be hearing about it from the left or the right or the Trumpers or someone. Somewhere. But we’re not.
So it had to be a big yawn designed only to thwart the GOP, Trump’s own party, the one he LEADS, the party he wants to nominate him as their/our presidential candidate. He broke no new nothing, did nothing noteworthy, said nothing noteworthy. If he did, he’d be telling us, and so would all the media. But no. It was a stunt to hurt HIS OWN PARTY. What a petty petty little man, really.
But yeah, Tucker needs to find his feet. Fast. If it’s not already too late.
Yeah I had no interest in watching T on T…Trump is Trump and since nothing new broke out of the interview, I have no desire to pull it up and watch now.
Yeah, I was going to watch it this weekend, but really, what’s the point?
A significant part of the Republican is hurting the Republican party is at fault for any hurt. They may well drive creation of a new party, and then understand what hurt means.
Not interested in supporting the “Republican Party” that is owned by Wall Street and whose only interest is in raising money. It’s the right side of the Uniparty supporting corrupt politicians making billions on foreign wars and compaign issues that they never solve.
You called it! I too watched some of the Carlson interview and I didn’t think he lived up to his reputation. It wasn’t total softballs but there were a lot of them with no deep insight-type questions. He let Trump repeat his mantra over and over and we didn’t hear much substance.
People from all over the world wanted to see this interview
And I don’t have a Twitter account and I saw it on Twitter, you didn’t have to have one
Clearly
I did not watch the debate, did not miss anything worthwhile. As far as 24 goes, they are all losers.
Contrary to common misconception it was on Rumble and a few other sites within a few minutes of it being posted.
“…the Trump interview will still be there for them to watch later.”
This might be a good comparison:
How many people will be looking up the Carlson interview to watch today, tomorrow, next week?
How many people will be seeking out a recording of the debate to watch?
For the debate – none. Because Fox already did this weird crap where they apparently have decreed that you can’t post any clip longer than…. I forget exactly, it was either 2 minutes or 3 minutes.
Functionally making it impossible for most people to actually WATCH the entire debate at this point.
Which only actually fuels the divide in views. The numbers for the Trump interview will continue increasing, while the debate numbers are pretty much set.
I watched it on Rumble, and we had it embedded here, too.
Want a silly article
Some people can’t accept failure
Touche’
Did Trump use the same counting methodology for people attending his inauguration??
that was another big lie told by the TDS afflicted,..that picture of the nearly empty mall taken by the national park service was taken a 8:45 am, more that 3 hours before inauguration time
I think the claim was that it was bigger than Obama’s and there’s no way that was true. The fact that the man claims a bigger audience than the Super Bowl shows how delusional he is.
It was bigger than obamas and the Jan 6 was the biggest EVER. .
They don’t want to tell you that either
Not interested in supporting the “Republican Party” that is owned by Wall Street and whose only interest is in raising money. It’s the right side of the Uniparty supporting corrupt politicians making billions on foreign wars and compaign issues that they never solve.
Including the feds?
Very true
I was at that inauguration. With all of the streets blocked as they were I didn’t get to the location to watch the inauguration until minutes before it started.
Yes, President Trump is absolutely responsible for all counting and other forms of math
He was personally seen counting people at the inauguration, walking through the masses for hours.
This is sarcasm, right? Right?! Oh, please let it be sarcasm.
Since he was the only person to claim that his inauguration had more people than 0bama’s, he must have done the counting himself. Nobody else could have done it, because nobody else supported his ridiculous claim.
“I will watch it at some point, but it’s not high on my list of priorities.”
Why not? Serious question. If you are going to write about politics, shouldn’t you watch it while it remains current?
BTW, then you for the simple explanation of who/whom! Well done!
Heh, you’re welcome!
I’ll probably watch it this weekend. I’ve been super busy because I just moved into a new house, and while I make time for actual politics (a GOP debate), I think that other stuff can wait a few days while I unpack boxes. Besides, as we all know, if anything of import were said, we’d be hearing about it. And we’re not. So it didn’t. So no rush. Heh.
Fair enough.
It’s not as bad as you imagine it to be.
What isn’t? The Tucker interview? I don’t think it will be bad at all, but I know it won’t be good. You know why? Because Trump just did that to undermine the GOP debate, but he had nothing to drop. So he looks weak and sad and disloyal right now. I’ll watch it, but I know from the complete lack of enthusiasm both here in our comment section and across social media and right media and left media that Trump did NOTHING in this interview at all . . . except play spoiler to the GOP debate.
Frankly, I expected more. It’s like he’s just going through the motions now. Back in ’16, he’d have had a bomb to throw, something to really get people talking. But naw, just a vanilla interview that apparently had even his most fervent supporters yawning. Where are the WOW! Trump said! Blah blah. No where. He was playing half a game because he thinks he’s already won.
This is not 2016 Trump; this is tired, old, beaten by the swamp he didn’t drain Trump who dodders around sounding like Kamala’s speech writer slipped him some rambling notes. This isn’t a winner. This is the guy who cuts your gas line to win the race. And then can’t be bothered to hit the gas in his own car. He’s already won. He’ll just sit there and declare victory. I find that so far beyond disgusting and beneath contempt that I have no words. Me!
Actual politics? You jest
8 losers
Your little man couldn’t even raise his hand when asked if he would pardon President Trump with out looking at everyone else, probably an ear piece too
What an absolute loser
He’s way out of his league
But he sure has the women playing offense for him like you, the Gov of Iowa who had to beg the crowd to stop booing him, his wife takes over conversations.. and he lets her
Print glad to do that
You’ve spent the last 12 months attacking Musk for whatever suited your fancy, but now, since Trump was on Musk’s Net? Best thing since hot Velveeta on tortilla chips. Don’t anyone dare question views! And that’s not all. You spat vitriol at Tucker “Softball Tucker,” as you’ve termed him. And now that Tucker lobbed beautiful, huge, squishy, moist softballs for Trump, well, you tuck right into Tucker and gobble it all down.
And the last but not certainly not least, you attack DeSantis’ wife for being a take-no-crap sort of stand up woman? That right there shows in bold relief what sort of woman you are. And it ain’t pertty.
“Besides, as we all know, if anything of import were said, we’d be hearing about it.” Same for the debate. The debate was a dud.
If you have seen one of Trump’s speeches you’ve seen them all. That’s why there are no big reveals on any networks, liberal or conservative. It’s like watching a stand-up comic tell the same jokes over and over.
Family watched it together. 4 people only “one” view. Not saying the 200 million is accurate but there are probably overcount clicks but also undercounts like me? Some “duplicate” clicks could be people sharing it. My aunt watched and then rewatched with my elderly grandma….
And I watched it twice
Did you light up a smoke after the first?
That’s embarrassing!
I vaguely recall a Trump interview, probably from his Apprentice series, where he boasted of leveraging social media traffic figures as profit potential to promote a property (or business) he was flipping. That was long before I ever heard of the practice of astroturfing. But it stuck with me as an immoral / unethical use of the medium. I’ve tried to google up the episode but can’t get there – it’s just a memory of an episode of Apprentice.
I neglected to point out, that Trump also commented along the lines of having purchased the social media comments / likes. They were not genuine.
What has been proven is how many hits indicating views of the Trump interview exist.
Another thing that can be proven is how few hits the debate got.
What can’t be proven is the theory that the Trump hits were merely channel surfers. But hey, you do you.
Lol
Tweet of the day and posted above:
“If you believe the Trump/Tucker interview got as many views as the Super Bowl, I highly recommend you avoid any emails from Nigerian Princes…”
Was that written by little d’s handlers
Or fuzzy?
Hmm
Oh, sweet. More bona fides for the NeverTrump losers at LI
Oh sweet. Another OnlyTrump troll comes to disrupt the comments at LI.
Whatever shall we do. Whatever shall we do.
Point and laugh?
The problem for Trumpets is that there are conservatives on LI with a brain for critical analysis and filtering out bullshit when they see it.
The shit blogs don’t attract that kind of mental effort. It’s not a very high bar, but the bar is limbo low over there.
As usual, you magas always assume that because we do not like Trump’s manners and style most of us will not vote for him. That is not the case. We think open honest debate about our preferred candidate should be fair game to discuss without ultimatums. I voted twice for Trump and will again if he is the nominee but DeSantis is a lot more stable and has a proven record of working with other elected people to get the job done. That is just my opinion and that’s all it is. I do not worship DeSantis nor do I any person on this earth except my wife. I try to use my head and be accurate and fair but with many of you, facts just aren’t important if it concerns Trump. In the same way he does it you exaggerate everything he says or does and never admit he does anything wrong. What do you think of his statement Friday that DeSantis loved FAuci and the mandates? That is so easily proven false that it is up there with Hillary and Biden for an obvious lie. Why with his huge lead would he say such a stupid thing? Does that not worry you a little?
“But I haven’t “watched” almost any of it. “Views” does not equal people watching it.”
The government does something similar when it wants to juice the ‘jobs created’ or ‘unemployment numbers’. It simply counts the millions who fell off the unemployment rolls as ’employed’, then crows about low unemployment, and all the jobs government created, blah, blah.
IE: Assume you’re being lied to.
Speaking of the Government and jobs it was recently reported that the number of jobs created was revised downward by 300k,,Bidenomics,.lol

She hasn’t had a lot to smile about lately
Wouldn’t hurt you to smile on occasion, G.
so in reality you have no idea how many watched the entire interview, most or some of it
But we do know because of the changes at X that nowhere near 200 million watched it. Mashable is saying 14.8 million, and that sounds about right.
The same is true for FOX and the debate. They also have a good reason to play with the numbers.
Who said it was just the US?
I’m not a biologist but I think that number may be a worldwide tabulation.
Congratulations, you are smart enough to be on the Supreme Court
You can’t really imagine that the whole world tuned in to hear Tucker softball Trump. That’s just . . . unrealistic. And even if they did, so what? They can’t vote for him.
Besides, as the post explains, the views aren’t actual people watching, just people who have it open on their page or scroll past it on X (as I did a BUNCH of times on the night, even though I was actually watching the debate on Rumble, I was tweeting the debate so logging “views” on the Tucker thing). Not that I won’t watch it, I will, but I haven’t gotten to it yet and certainly not the times I scrolled past it autoplaying for 2 seconds.
I think MrE is on to something and that Musk made the change in a less than honest bid to appeal to advertisers, but as someone else mentioned, pretty much every video on X now gets hundreds of millions of “views.” Even cat videos. So there’s that.
I think it’s pretty cute to see people bitching now about the meaning of “views.” People have been using the number of views as a rough idea about the level of engagement for quite some time, and it’s only when it involved Trump that people start getting all concerned about what, exactly, “views” means.
What cannot be in dispute is the relative level of engagement between the Trump interview and the Repub debate. They were counted in the same environment, under the same rules.
Well, no, they were not. Did you read the post? Where was the Tucker interview run (hint: X)? Where was the Fox interview run (hint: Fox, with a share on Rumble)? Are these the same things? Did you read the post?
Oh yes we can!
I’m sure you think billions would tune into little d
But it didn’t happen
“pretty much every video on X now gets hundreds of millions of “views.” Even cat videos.”
An admission that Trump picked the best venue
No, as an exTV personality, he knows how to use hype and the lying of TV data. The difference between a cat video and a Trump video is that language is not a requirement to enjoy. I can only imagine all of the non-English people around the world tuning in to SEE Trump give non-answers to softball questions.
Meanwhile, back in reality, Trump is still smashing DeSanctimonius by 44 – 52 points. Enjoy!
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/
Yes, he’s definitely on track to win the GOP nomination, but if you take a look at that link, Trump loses to Biden by 5 and 6 points in two polls and only wins by 3 in one of the polls (within the margin of error). BIDEN. Whose approval has been below water since he took office, with the majority of Americans saying we are on the wrong track. Biden. Who is killing our country, has destroyed our economy (and is only getting started), our military, our energy production and reserves, and everything else. And he’s STILL beating Trump–who, I agree, was a great president. Have you thought about that. At all?
Woohoo! Trump wins the GOP nomination and LOSES to the worst president since Obama (and working on being the worst since Wilson). We win how?
Considering that Trump received 11 million more votes in 2020 that 2016 and Biden’s approval numbers are record low, the notion that he wins by 5 points is mathematically absurd.
Unless the vote count is rigged against Trump, in which case it is even more improbable to think that will be put on hold for RDS to win it straight and honest.
Live by the poll, die by the poll. Cherrypicking just makes you a hypocrite.
So your a poll dancer
That’s how you
make your money
Good to know
You are so incredibly rude and disgusting. What is wrong with you? And how dare you EVER hike up your skirts and shrill when ANYONE returns your venom.
And you kill people. That’s how you made your welfare check. Good to know.
It was 10 million. And are suggesting that polls saying Trump is ahead by massive double digits are all BS? Or only the polls you don’t like are wrong? Work that out, maybe?
Desanctimonius loses to Biden in the general by at least 5 points in nearly every poll. He is not a viable candidate. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/
Okay, this is HILARIOUS! You linked to a poll, I read it, and then you say, oh no, not that poll I LINKED?! Dude, you’re just being funny now, right? Trying to amuse us? Because I have to say, it’s working. I’m smiling.
Spin it however you need to. The reality is that DeSantis loses to Biden in a head-to-head general election match-up by large margins in nearly every poll. It is what it is.
Do you see how this discussion has gone? Trump’s dominating the GOP primary. Yeah, that same poll says he’s losing the general. Don’t look at that poll (I just provided you). Okay, um. what? Look at this one. Well, no, just . . . shift the goalposts (AGAIN) to something about DeSantis. Dude. Really?
Any poll showing ANYONE losing to Sleepy 10% China Joe isn’t serious, nor anyone pushing such a poll is a serious adult
I came to the conclusion that poles are not reliable a long time ago, especially when they were telling us Hillary was going to win. I was right to ignore it then, the same is true today.
Isn’t it amazing that they don’t care? We have all said that Trump needs, nay must win the independent votes or he loses. They are not thinking in real terms only emotional ones.
I watched the Tucker/Trump interview twice.
Only made it through a few minutes of the GOP debate before I got bored.
Supposedly the views/ratings on the debate v the 2015 debate were about half. That strikes me as the likely number of ‘viewers’ for the counter programmed TC interview of Trump. IOW of the 25 million voters who pay attention to debates only half watched the 1st GoP debate in real time and the remainder probably watched the counter programmed Trump interview in real time. Current polling data seems to reinforce this. At present Trump has roughly 55-60% support among respondents while the remaining 40-45% support an alternative.
People can watch a ‘rerun’ of either the debate or the TC interview with Trump in our digital age. Claiming 200 million people ‘watched’ the TC interview with Trump reveals the ignorance of those making the claim. Only about 156 million ballots were cast in ’20; 81 million Biden and 75 million Trump. The US population hasn’t expanded enough to get it to 200 million voters who care enough to watch a debate before labor day the year proir to the election. Not to mention the folks claiming 200 million people ‘ watched’ the TC interview also claim that several million of the Biden ballots were cast by nonexistent illusory/ghost voters to swing the election to Biden. (I happen to agree on this point)
Please, no post about his height and weight, even though it might generate many clicks and comments. These things are, after all, most important.
LOL, omg, you saw that?! How insane. I had fun on X ragging on great big giant fattie Rob Reiner bashing Trump for his weight. Grrr.
And there will be NO posts about that crap this weekend (unless I’m over-ruled, as does happen now and then).
Seems a whole bunch of DeSantis supporters are upset Trump drew more people watching him than watched DeSantis. And yeah, I know he didn’t get 200 million views, however, the stream I was watching had 30,000 people watching the Tucker/Trump interview.
And because Fox decided to be stupid and not let anyone else stream their stupid debate almost all of the streams that were going to stream the debate streamed the Tucker/Trump interview instead. Andany of those streams averaged about 10,000 people as well.
The fact of the matter is more people watched the interview than they did the debate. And this bothers you because no one is talking about that debate. Whatever boost you imagined DeSantis got from that thing is nonexistent.
Stop being sore.
Can you show us ONE single “DeSantis” voter who is upset that Trump drew more watchers than the debate? The only thing we said about the absurd claim that Trump and his minions have made of 200 million and climbing is that it is stupid. The debate had 8 people but you assume that all of us were only watching DeSantis. Why?
I watched the interview and thought it presented Trump very well. I also watched the “debate” which I thought was lame; very poor questions and the moderators were weak.
Ramaswamy had a Lloyd Benson moment when Pence tut-tutted him with a snide remark about on-the-job training. Then again, Pence is somewhat of a dick who hides behind his “Christian” faith and how he was ”conservative before it was cool”. Spare me, Clevie – Pence has never been, nor will he ever be considered “cool”.
Swarmy was on speed, and that grinning
He sure can sell a lot of cars
That’s pretty slimy.
Bug-zapper smile.
I thought of car salesman too, but it also reminds me of Newsome and Biden back before he went senile. It was like they were both programmed to smile after every 3rd comment regardless of whether it was appropriate. Veneer Ramaswamy says the right things, but there’s a troubling insincerity that belies his motto.
I hate to admit it but I have to agree with gonzo.
I watched the entire Tucker-Trump Interview and thought Tucker and Trump asked and answered good questions. The most relevant was when Tucker asked Trump if he was worried about physical harm and Trump was somewhat unclear but called them “savages.”
Tucker also asked Trump if he thought we would have Civil War and Trump answered that there was a level of “passion and hatred that was so high he did not know.” Trump was answering the questions honestly and the politicians running for office on either side do not. Trump is not someone that can be controlled by DC and they do not want him controlling them.
“”they do not want him controlling them.””
If past is prologue, they don’t have any reason to worry about that.
I figured it was a big yawn from the complete lack of enthusiasm from his base or from his most fierce detractors (they all ignored it, too). Yeah, it sounds like a giant yawn-fest. I might actually skip it now. Thanks for the heads up.
On the question of a possible civil war, any sane human being would have said, “If it came to that I would withdraw my nomination. But not the superego! He said, “I don’t know”! Do you for one minute understand what a “Civil” war means? I am for fighting through our system to right the wrongs of this administration but a civil war? Take a look at Ukraine and then say maybe.
The industry jargon is “impressions.” Impressions are related to the amount of time a pixel spends in your eyesight (for example, in an advert). So there were 200M impressions (which sounds about right). “Views” or “clicks” are entirely different (probably X has metrics for cumulative total video watched, but if they dont release it… its bad).
I didn’t watch it … could care less what that fool has to say … didn’t watch the debates either. Joe has to go … but if I have to vote for Turnip to make that happen … so be it.
I was impressed by Trump on Tucker. I found him more low key than normal, and more presidential. I shall NOT be watching the debate, since I have already made up my mind. I will vote for Trump if he runs. I also really like DeSantis, and consider him a valuable future candidate. Just throwing it out there. I no longer try to justify my decisions. I live in a very blue area, and I’m done talking.
A friend had a Liberal epiphany a few years ago, going the opposite of most thinking adults, and while I am critical of many on the “right”, he will NEVER say anything about a democrat. He even maintains that Biden is sentient and doing a great job.
My point is, this is why REpublicans are doomed. Look at this article, look at the comments. Do you think Fuzzy will vote for Trump if he is the nominee?
Unfortunately, conservative punditry is becoming as transactional as liberal punditry. For example, as far as the debate was concerned, it seems like many pundits are incapable of separating who they support for the nomination from who they think “won.” Similarly, as a commentator above mentioned, “Seems a whole bunch of DeSantis supporters are upset Trump drew more people watching him than watched DeSantis.” He Life lesson: It is possible to have two thoughts simultaneously. That is, you can be pro-DeSantis and still acknowledge that the Trump-Tucker got more views, even however that’s defined. You can be pro-Trump and still think that the interview was not great and included too much filibustering by Trump. You can be pro a certain candidate and at the same time acknowledge that that certain candidate is behind by some polling metrics (assuming polling data is accurate, or relevant when the decisive issue is ballot harvesting). Being pro-Trump doesn’t necessarily mean you have to anti-DeSantis, either, and vice versa.
You are one of a few who think this way. It seems that the magas have to repeat whatever Trump says about a candidate. If he insults DeSantis then they must also insult and belittle him. If
Trump says a good thing about Ramyswamy then many of the magas will also say good things about him. I am amazed how so many people can hate and insult a nice family man who has done well with his life. He hasn’t made a fortune like some but he has served us and our country in many different ways and does not deserve the scorn he gets from some.
Thanks for informing us, your uninformed readers, on what “views” are formerly known as Twitter.
It would seem to me that the method of determining these views has not changed just for the interview in question, so we can compare it meaningfully to other X posts.
On the other hand, I have always be curious, and since you seem to imply that the numbers for cable shows are much more reliable than those for x posts, how they make sure people actually watch and not just forget to turn off their TV whennthey fall asleep because of the interesting nature of, e.g. VP Pence’s remarks?
Thank you for elaborating! You are one of the totally unbiased sources I trust to not just post pieces to attack the leading Reoublican primary candidate.
Sigh.
‘ “views” are with respect to X, formerly known as Twitter.’
A Soros Fellow ?

Oh please. I was on a scholarship for one year as an undergrad and a two year fellowship as a grad student and I cannot even tell you the sponsor of the scholarship.
Taking money for tuition and a small stipend doesn’t mean anything.
He was worth 2.1 million dollars at the time!
I watched the interview and I’m not “on X”.
WHy do you think that reported “viewings” on TV are any different? Do you think that everyone who turned the debate on sat there and watched the whole thing??
