Legal Insurrection Authors’ Predictions For 2023

Legal Insurrection Authors’ Predictions For 2023

Don’t hold us to it.

It’s become a tradition here at LI for our authors and contributors to offer their predictions about what might happen in the coming year. Just don’t hold us to it.

You can click the links for our previous predictions and see how we did for 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, and 2018.

As we ring in the New Year, here are our predictions for 2023.

William A. Jacobson

No optimism here for 2023:

1. Biden will continue to abandon southern border control, and the surge of economic migrants from around the world will steadily rise to even more unprecedented numbers. Large migrant camps and relocation facilities will arise in blue states, with federal funding.

2. The FBI/DOJ will continue to label lawful opposition “extremist” and potentially dangerous. The “potentially” part will be key to the repression. The J6 prosecution of people who committed minor offenses such as trespassing will be the model and the excuse. The IRS and other federal bureaucracies will be weaponized as part of the effort.

3. Academia will continue to sink lower and lower into one-sided unithought, with dissidents being purged more quietly than in 2020, but more effectively. DEI gatekeepers will continue gaining more power to keep counter-thinkers from entering the academy. There will be a large red state-level pushback.

4. China will “invade” Taiwan, likely by engineering some sort of coup or massive civil unrest, with the PRC “invited” in to help restore order. The PRC will promise a Hong Kong style transition with no disruption of the semiconductor industry. The U.S. will not do anything.

5. Iran will walk up to the edge of going nuclear, but will not test a nuclear explosion even underground. The U.S. will pressure Israel not to attack, and will “blow the whistle” on any Israeli plans.

6. President Kamala Harris. Vice President Pete Buttigieg. If you oppose them in 2024, you are racist and homophobic.

7. Ron DeSantis runs for President.

Mary Chastain

2023. Everyone seems so burnt out on the news and politics. Not surprising. Maybe I’ll add more good news posts daily to lighten the mood. I predict everything will get worse in 2023. I hate being a Negative Nancy. Trump literally broke the left, Democrats, and others. Hillary’s crushing loss in 2016 showed them that Americans could not handle their nonsense. They will do anything not to lose now. Start prepping, grow a garden, learn to shoot guns, buy guns, and buy as much ammo as you can. Learn to be self-sufficient and keep cash around.

But remember, despite the mainstream media and politicos being all doom and gloom, there is so much good in the world. People overall are a lot more giving, thoughtful, caring, and nice than we are led to believe.

Remember what Samwise Gamgee said to Frodo.

Fuzzy Slippers

Happy New Year everyone!

While a new year can feel like a fresh beginning, we are not, I fear, facing anything new or fresh. Instead, we are “ruled” by a party that wishes it was the 1930’s and fascism was still king. Actual fascism, not the twisted Orwellian way the radical, tyrannical left use the term.

The authoritarian left will continue its long march through our institutions in 2023, focusing on cultural issues as never before. In response to the pushback from parents and a handful of brave teachers, physicians, and ordinary Americans, they will double-down and work twice as hard to keep the ground they’ve won and to snatch back the ground they have lost.

The corrupted parts of our government–the IRS, the FBI, the DOJ, the Departments of Education, Labor, HHS, and etc.–will continue their attacks on normal Americans with the complete backing of the White House and a far too large portion of Congress (including many elected GOP representatives and senators).

There will be some kind of new reason to control the masses. It may be another virus or just their go-to excuse for everything they seek to destroy, climate change, but something will require the economy to shut down, people to agree to all manner of liberty-stealing indignities, and / or further disruptions of the supply chain and energy availability/reliability.

Recession is already here, but it may be formally recognized this year. Americans who have been paying attention are prepping for the worst while hoping for the best.

The Biden war on American energy independence and production will ramp up this year, and gas prices will go up. Way up. And with that, everything else will go up, as well. See above re: recession.  If Biden and his team of America-hating radicals can manage it, they may well usher in a depression this year (or next).

I don’t think Trump will gain the sort of steam (support/enthusiasm) he had in 2016 or even in 2020, but he’s the one to beat for any Republican hopeful. And they’ll all be declaring in the spring/summer of this year.  My own hope is that Ron DeSantis remains as governor of Florida and goes for it in 2028.  My hope, however, may not be reality-based. This does seem to be his time, but he’d have an easier time of it in ’28 when Trump is completely out of the picture.  That said, if DeSantis does declare, it’s going to be a hot mess on the right. As we all know all too well.

People who will be throwing their hat in the ring this spring / early summer: Nikki Haley, Larry Hogan (stop laughing, he really thinks he has a shot), Mike Pompeo, maybe Kristi Noem. I guess Mike Pence is thinking of running, but it would be a mistake.

Then again, Trump is reportedly sending out feelers about a third party run, so who knows? If he takes that bait (and yes, he’s being played. Again), and he just might, the GOP field gets stronger immediately, and DeSantis would almost certainly run and win the GOP nomination. How that plays out in 2024 is a prediction for another year.

There are a couple of bright spots, though. One is a bit of a surprise, but the #TwitterFiles are having an impact that is not being fully felt but may be as this year unfolds.

The other is the parents’ rights movement that is gaining steam and pushing back against the attacks on their children’s innocence and futures. From CRT to genital and bodily child mutilation to racist “anti-racism,” parents are fed up and are not just sitting around waiting for the FBI to crash through their door. They are organizing and gaining support in unlikely corners (Gays Against Groomers, Trans Against Groomers, Muslim communities sickened by kiddie porn in their children’s schools).

We have millions of Americans fighting for their children, and they have the federal government, the media, Big Tech (except Twitter), Hollywood, the unions, and the newly woke military fighting for a radical, destructive leftist ideology.  I like our chances.  I really do.

Mike LaChance

I’ve become very wary about making predictions after the 2022 midterms, but here are a few things I can see happening in 2023.

1. Biden and Democrats will be emboldened because they did not lose the Senate. They’ll continue pushing the country further left with their horrible policies.

2. The same media that obsessed over every investigation of Trump by Democrats will demonize the GOP’s efforts to investigate the Bidens, calling it a waste of taxpayers’ time and money.

3. The war in Ukraine will continue and Democrats will try to send billions more in aid as Americans continue to struggle with inflation.

4. The situation at the southern border will get worse and Biden will do nothing to stop it.

5. Democrats will continue trying to find new ways to make being a Republican a crime and the media will go along with it.

Leslie Eastman

Looking back on my 2022 predictions, I nailed two out of three of them completely.  I was off only on my projection about the November election (as I let naturally high levels of optimism cloud my forecasting).

As we look into 2023, I have far less political optimism than I did a year ago.  However, I am praying more and focusing on what I can change, and how I can best contribute (especially in the fight against the ideological capture of the hard sciences). I will admit I am grateful it is not an election year.

Here is what I foresee for the next 365 days:

1) There we be another new infectious disease, which will be used by our public health officials to try and broaden their powers.  The press will parrot the narrative-based science presented by the “experts”.  However, because Twitter is now truly a free speech platform, the attempt will fail.

2) There will be further erosion of Environmental, Social, and Governance priorities in corporate culture, as inflation-based realities mean that time and monies need to spent on personnel, equipment, and services that actually help the bottom lines. A few natural disasters in which the failure of green energies leads to more destruction will help the process along.

3) The candidates topping the presidential polls at the end of 2023 will be substantially different than who tops them currently.

4) Russia will still be fighting in Ukraine. China will continue to harass Taiwan….and may harass India more often as well.  North Korea will continue to lob assorted missiles into the Sea of Japan.

5) Legal Insurrection’s Equal Protection Project will be an outstanding success.

6) There James Webb Space Telescope will continue to bring fascinating information that will change theories on the formation of stars, planets, and other “settled science”.

I am wishing all our Legal Insurrection readers a healthy, happy, and prosperous 2023.

Vijeta Uniyal

My prediction for 2023:

Having reported on Europe and the Middle East for nearly a decade, I am cautious of making any bold or sweeping predictions as we enter 2023.

The war in Ukraine has led to realignment of geostrategic alliances beyond the continent of Europe. China and Iran are emerging as big beneficiaries as U.S. and its European NATO allies are locked in a costly slugging match with Russia.

Putin’s Russia has now moved firmly into China’s sphere of influence. In 1950s, Mao Zedong auditioned for the role of Joseph Stalin’s sidekick. With Putin now at Xi Jinping’s mercy, those roles have been reversed.

Iran, the biggest state sponsor of terrorism, is forging an intimate military alliance with Russia. Iran is providing drones and military advisors to Russia, and in return getting its hands on Western military technology captured from Ukrainian battlefield.

Recent statements from the Biden White House suggest that the administration is admitting the failure of its appeasement policy towards Iran and is simply going to watch as the genocidal Mullah regime goes nuclear.

As China-Russia-Iran forge a new Axis of Evil, the West is governed by woke pygmies, and not political giants to match the stature of Ronald Reagan or Margaret Thatcher.

Johanna Markind

My big misses from last year:

–       Poland and the Baltic states didn’t need to form their own alliance, because NATO didn’t collapse. In fact, two stand-offish neutrals, Sweden and Finland, are waiting to join. Hooray! Glad I missed that one.

–       China didn’t invade Taiwan. Another whew. Still, I’m giving myself half a point on that one, based on a claim in Newsweek that China did plan to invade last year, but shelved the idea after it saw how miserably Russia fared in its invasion of Ukraine, and saw that the West pushed back surprisingly hard.

–       Mercifully, Iran didn’t get the bomb. Thank God.

Predictions for the coming year:

Higher education:

The Supreme Court will hold that racial discrimination in college admissions violates the Equal Protection Clause. It may overrule Grutter v. Bollinger outright (Grutter is the case in which a majority of the Court held that discriminatory admissions were sort of okay); or it may say, Grutter’s reference to 25 years is a hard deadline, and schools may no longer discriminate as of 2028. Colleges (including graduate and professional schools) will of course continue to discriminate.

They’ve already begun laying the groundwork, by eliminating or proposing elimination of test requirements (SAT, LSAT, possibly MCAT). The lack of test scores will make discrimination harder to prove, and weaken the college readiness of newly admitted classes. Like the aftermath of Brown v. Board of Education, many schools will resist, and eliminating reverse discrimination will be a slow process.

Anti-Semitism:

Anti-Semitism will become increasingly accepted in mainstream American culture, leading to ever more discrimination and violence targeting Jews. Jonathan Greenblatt’s Anti-Defamation League and other Jewish mainstream figures and organizations will continue refusing to face the reality that anti-Semitism’s MAIN DRIVERS INTO MAINSTREAM AMERICA today come from so-called allies on the progressive left, especially from certain vocal college students and professors, parts of the black community (where it’s promoted by Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam and by the Black Hebrew Israelites), and parts of the Arab and Muslim communities. If you can’t name your enemy, you can’t defeat him.

President Biden’s interagency task force on anti-Semitism and “Islamophobia” will be as useless as the 2019 House resolution condemning anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, which started as a condemnation of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitic remarks and ended up essentially treating her as a victim.

Israel:

Netanyahu has gotten into bed with religious extremists eager to force their brand of religiosity on the Israeli Jewish community as a whole, thereby angering Jews from non-Orthodox religious streams, many secular Israelis, and some Modern Orthodox too.

The Biden Administration will continue to harass Israel and blame it for defending itself against Arab terrorism, while exerting no pressure against Abbas and the Palestinian Authority, and largely ignoring Hamas/Islamic Jihad provocations. The UN, International Criminal Court, International Court of Justice, and European Union will ratchet up their hysterical attacks on Israel’s right to exist.

Palestinian Authority and Hamas:

Palestinian groups will continue attacking Israel and each other as they jockey for position. Abbas is old and unwell, and the Palestinian Authority is corrupt and has generally lost credibility. On the other hand, Hamas has shown itself even less competent to run an economy than the Supreme Leader and Guardian Counsel in Iran or the Taliban in Afghanistan; and Iran has cut back its funds and those of Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Biden won’t pressure or sanction them for their terror tactics or refusal to negotiate in good faith with Israel. He won’t do what he should do, which is to put the burden on the Palestinians to put forward a final two-state compromise offer they would commit to living with, which they have never done.

Iran:

  • Mene mene tekel upharsin. The current regime has two chances in seven of still controlling the country this time next year. If it should fall, it wouldn’t necessarily be replaced by a parliamentary democracy. Possibly, the Revolutionary Guard would execute a putsch. If the latter, the country would still be rocked by instability.
  • The current regime has three chances in seven of detonating a nuclear bomb before year’s end. Yes, we’re in a race against time. Will the regime get the bomb before it’s tossed onto the dustbin of history? We’re in for a wild photo finish.

New Neo

My predictions for 2023:

(1) Of all the New Year’s resolutions made, 72% will be broken by January 2nd.  Of the rest, only 1% will last till February 2nd.

(2) The new House will hold a number of hearings that will reveal just how pernicious the FBI and other intelligence agencies have been, as well as the DOJ.  The remainder of the yet-to-be-revealed Twitter files will be released, and they will be further confirmation of the shocking extent of the corrupt collusion of government and business to stifle free speech.  The MSM will ignore the news or write “Republicans pounce!” stories about it, and the DOJ will decline to do much of anything except continue to pursue the remaining January 6th protesters to the ends of the earth.

(3) Joe Biden will somehow manage to dodder on.

(4) The Republicans in Congress will shoot themselves in the foot several times.

(5) Some sort of recession will occur in the US. Most forecasters call it “modest,” and who am I to differ? Then again, it was supposedly Galbraith who said, “The only function of economic forecasting is to make astrology look respectable.”

(6) The James Webb Space Telescope will deliver more photos that inspire awe and challenge what we think we know of the universe, showing that “the science” is never “settled.”

(7) Legal Insurrection will continue its efforts in the defense of truth and liberty.

Seven’s a nice round number, so I think I’ll leave it at that for my predictions.  Happy New Year to all from The New Neo!

David Gerstman

Last year, I acknowledged that I’m really bad at predicting the future and then went ahead and predicted it incorrectly again. (I predicted that the Biden administration would declare a new and improved nuclear deal with Iran. It turns out that Iran was too unreasonable to allow that.)

With that history in mind, here’s my prediction for 2023.

I really like Gov. DeSantis and think he would make a fine president. Early polling suggests that he should be the favorite for the Republican nomination. I believe that Donald Trump is a spent force, and, despite his bluster, he realizes it too. It’s still early, and the out of power party rarely has its nominee decided two years in advance.

Another Republican will line everything up politically in 2023 and pass DeSantis as the likely nominee. This won’t be because of any mistakes on DeSantis’s part, but because of events outside of his sphere of influence.  I don’t know who. Maybe it will be Gov. Youngkin. Maybe it will be someone not on the radar yet.

Professor – no disrespect – I hope you are wrong on all accounts.

Best to all for 2023

I think every single one of the predictors is optimistic. The US is going to collapse just like the USSR. (With help from Russia, China, N Korea and Iran. But mostly with the help of Obama and Biden.)

Out of the ashes will rise a Phoenix

Always does – but it could take generations. Generations of misery.

I know, but I don’t see a different way with the collapse of our election integrity, let’s just call as it is , cheating, and our politicians from both sides selling our lives out, our children’s lives out, running illegals in as if we have 500,000,000 miles of land mass and real jobs for them instead of giving them hand outs and voter ballots already made out, using up all our housing, health services, education, phones, DBT cards and 2,000 cash ( catholic charities, although not the only ones, but biggest, making billions of our hard earned dollars), the destruction of our education system, military, gross demonic sexualization of our children…..

We can not vote our way out of this

Fun facts to do with what you will:
      USSR Leaves Afghanistan: 02/15/89
      USSR Collapses: 12/26/91
      Days elapsed: 1044

      US Leaves Afghanistan: 08/30/21
      US date + 1044 days: 07/09/24
      Days until that date: 555

Rather than Sam, we should remember Theoden:

David Gerstman

Wrong, President Trump is the leader of the Republican no matter what ridicules polls say, and maybe you need to look into DeSantis money and handlers, yes handlers. They encourage him to be MAGA lite hoping he’ll replace the righteous and rightful winner of the 2020 Presidential election, President Trump. I’m not saying he would t do some of the things he has without them, but they are globalists, and Jeb Bush, Paul Ryan guys. Makes me want to vomit

But unfortunately the cheating is so overwhelming I don’t think a Republican can ever win again, I mean a conservative with conjones.

If Trump runs as an independent it will be the end of the Republican Party and that’s a good thing in the end, it has to go..one way or another…..

Kari and the rest of AZ Republicans won, we all know the cheating it was so obvious my 5 year old grandchild could give a lecture on it.

But the Republican “leaders” want to lose, they don’t want real honest conservatives in power cause they really are globalists and are sad to see poloussey demoted so much they gave her her trillions of dollars of a stab in back to Americans everywhere!

Hey McConnell thinks the ukraine is our #1 problem, not the 7 million already illegals lol, the recession, loss of real
Jobs, destruction of our energy industry

Can’t make this up…

So, I dont think Biden makes it through 2 more years, his mind is garbage, be prepared for our first Female President, dear God help us all.

Second I predict the Green Bay packers will beat Detroit next week and make the playoffs. Really, Green Bay is Americas team, not Dallas, that’s just a lie made up by Davy Crockett ( I do love Dak, his aunt worked with my daughter and he’s a solid guy, Christian and a real giver to real charities) He also had a rough start, mom died of cancer when he was young, dad no where to be seen, aunt and brothers raised him.

healthguyfsu in reply to gonzotx. | January 1, 2023 at 8:51 pm

Since your 5 year old can give a “lecture” on it, why don’t you show us something concrete?

You can cite problems and hare-brained theories about election theft, but you have no hard evidence. Even Kari Lake’s team had no evidence. Does it look bad when there are election issues? Sure….Does it erode our faith in the process? You bet…Does it prove anything? Nope, not even close.

You need to raise your standards…or continue to argue like a 5 year old.

Continue to stump for the lost cause that is Trump (BTW, 3.0 has been an abject failure and he’s only still doing this to try and avoid prosecution). Just hand more victories to Dems. Everyone will be sure to thank you for your precipitation of our destruction.

If you need MORE “evidence” at this point, you don’t have your eyes open.

gonzotx in reply to healthguyfsu. | January 1, 2023 at 10:23 pm

      I have shown you repeatedly

CommoChief in reply to gonzotx. | January 2, 2023 at 11:14 am

        gonzo,

Can you lay out the ballot access barriers for a third party in each State, the deadlines for meeting the requirements to get a candidate on the ballot in each State and where the 3rd party that DJT will run on stands in meeting those requirements?

I do agree that DJT could be a formidable third party player. He would be at least as strong as Wallace or Perot and probably a bit stronger. The real issue is the electoral college math and gaining ballot access in enough States to be competitive.

That very practical reality can not be wished away. It’s a huge undertaking to get on the ballot in 50 States and currently DJT has declared as a candidate for the r nomination not a third party. If he actually runs as r he won’t have time to get a 3rd party organized and on the ballot in 2024.

Ty Professor. 2023 seems like 2022.2 or something.

I predict that I will lose two more friends… I lost the first of three, a week or so before Christmas… Some of y’all may remember her, Voting Female.

She had issues here, I get it. She was sometimes, ummmmm. over passionate,, but she was a good person, and I miss her. I met her in these comment boxes… so I hope you don’t mind if I just say RIP Char.

gonzotx in reply to amwick. | January 1, 2023 at 8:39 pm

I’m so sorry, she must have been a bit like me.. the passion, I have more than a few people That wish I would go away

I hope you and yours the best,
It’s very hard to lose those we love and the older we get, it seems to be a fast train

gonzotx in reply to gonzotx. | January 1, 2023 at 11:00 pm

I don’t mean to compare myself to your friend and your friendship, just the passion, I meant no disrespect and I am truly sorry for your loss

Wait, Voting Female passed away? That is so sad. I liked her so much and we followed one another on Twitter before I quit in disgust. She really was so passionate about our great country. What sad news. May she rest in peace.

William A. Jacobson in reply to amwick. | January 1, 2023 at 9:30 pm

I remember Voting Female. I don’t even remember what the issue was, but whatever it was, in hindsight and the grand scheme of life, it was unimportant. Let’s keep that in mind when the comment section gets heated. R.I.P. Voting Female.

Colonel Travis in reply to amwick. | January 1, 2023 at 9:43 pm

Very sorry to hear this, amwick

Predicted from day 1 Sundowner wouldn’t make it this far, but he is still slipping so much they won’t let him out of their sight so he can’t last 2 years eventually going into the shadows.
China will make a play for Taiwan

Antifundamentalist | January 1, 2023 at 8:32 pm

If Trump runs as an idependent, it will prove that he is nothing more than a Democrat shill – whether his ego allows him to see it or not.

Wrong, the Republican Party does not exist anymore, to
    for the American party

healthguyfsu in reply to gonzotx. | January 1, 2023 at 8:54 pm

If Trump can’t win the electoral vote in one of the 2 major parties, he stands zero chance of winning it as an independent.

We already know there are ridiculously long odds for an independent, and to even have a chance in hell they’d have to be a unifier that brings in the center and some of the center-left. Trump can’t even get the independents and he fractures the right into factions.

gonzotx in reply to healthguyfsu. | January 1, 2023 at 9:38 pm

Not true he won more independents, blacks, Latinos then any other politician EVER, 74+ million. And you can add 10 million they stole

No one will win against the machine, that’s the issue, the cheating is everywhere now, it’s not your vote it’s the harvesting.
Wisconsin alone has 7,000,000 registered voters but reality only 4 million should be able to vote.
They can throw in whatever amount they want when ever they need it and repeat this in nearly every state.
They refuse to clean the voter rolls they refuse to look at all the real research so it’s damn the torpedoes
It has to done, because our leaders really aren’t leaders they bend the knee to the globalist
We are going to have to do radical change to survive at all or our children will be slaves and AMerica gone forever

Why don’t you go live in El
Paso for awhile, give us a report

MattMusson in reply to gonzotx. | January 1, 2023 at 10:51 pm

Trump is just threatening the GOP. It’s his only weapon to keep the Uniparty from pulling a Bernie cheat on him.

CommoChief in reply to gonzotx. | January 2, 2023 at 3:11 pm

We use the electoral college to select our President. Popular vote nationwide is not relevant. Perot got about 20% of the national popular vote and zero electors as one example.

What matters is 270 electoral votes. The very strict ballot access barriers established by the two party cabal are in part designed to prevent a third party rising to success in a single Presidential election cycle.

It’s just not feasible for a third party candidate to gain ballot access in enough States to be competitive. Then there’s the issue of straight ticket voting. Some States allow a pull of one lever for the candidates of that party v marking a choice for each race. Lots of people do that because its way easier.

Those who want Trump to run as a 3rd party candidate in 2024 must start now to try and gain ballot access in 50 States. Not easy to do. In some States a declared candidate for a party nomination, as DJT is for the r nomination, is legally bared from the ballot as a third party candidate; see ‘sore loser laws’.

Yes, Trump is a Russian asset. Just like Tulsi Gabbard.

    Just ask Hillary Clinton.

Ask Tulsi, I think we give her too much credit she really is a lefty big time. She’s pretty pissed at what they did to her amd should be.

She’s the best of the worst. And she did repudiate the democrat party.

Btw: have you seen her on Fox, filling in for Tucker Carlson? She’s doing fantastic. And they have her looking even more fantastic. I think the Fox stylists could make Mooochelle Obama look….. I take that back.

Yes, she is a beautiful woman, but don’t be fooled, a Tiger does not change its stripes

          When she truly gives up
Her lefty lefty positions and walks the walk, I will consider, but there before

Nostradamus has transmitted these prognostications:

1. Biden, Putin, Pope Francis, Xi, and Trudeau will all leave the scene by the end of 2023–voluntarily or otherwise.

2. Unexpected resignations and deaths will result in the Senate flipping to the GOP.

3. The Ukraine will regain the Crimea by year’s end.

4. House investigations of the alphabet agencies (particularly the FBI) will result in high-level resignations and serious defunding legislation.

5. At least two European governments will be tossed out due to their unpopular “green” policies.

Nostradamus has spoken.

    I’ll have whatever he’s drinking…

    Virginia42 in reply to MarkJ. | January 4, 2023 at 3:49 pm

Most of those sound plausible–apart from the bit about the Crimea. It was never part of the Ukraine (they got administration of it as a Khrushchev political move post WW2) and hopefully the Ukrainian leadership gets that. We really don’t want the Russians lobbing tactical nukes–and if things get too sporty that might happen.

Perhaps in lieu of determining that Covid was engineered and released under unknown circumstances from the Wuhan Lab, likely financed by the US, it will be determined that, in return for large amounts of money paid through Hunter Biden, Joe Biden allowed himself to be injected by the Chinese with a virus that causes him to make the wrong policy decisions at every turn. That affliction will continue in 2023.

Because Ron DeSantis is so popular in Florida and could readily wait until 2028 to run for President, he will not rush to enter the race and may be guided by events beyond his control, such as his wife’s health.

When it becomes evident that Biden’s first term could mean 10 million illegals, or 3% of the US population, and people start to see what 3% means to their own communities, the open border will start to become a real political liability for the Democrats. (Mayor Adams of NY City has already stated that the needs of the migrants will affect services to residents, which is not going over too well.)

I’m about parallel with the professor except:
–I don’t see Biden leaving the office voluntarily, at least as long as the drugs hold out. No matter how incoherent, no matter how they have to shape his press so the strings don’t show, they’ll prop him up like Weekend at Bernies right up until the October before the election. Then there’s going to be an ‘incident’ and the press will treat his withdrawal from politics as a Divine Miracle Sympathy Ploy to drag voters to the polls to “Do it for Grandpa!”
–The attacks on Trump will continue, growing more frantic and frothing with every moment, until the election and mainstream media have complete breakdowns on live TV. Just when you think they can’t go any nuttier, they prove us wrong.
–China will not invade Taiwan. The absolute catastrophic breakdown of their entire corrupt production system would shatter like a dropped glass, and every leader in the system knows it. Boom.
–Iran will claim to have developed a peaceful bomb. They won’t test it, they don’t dare put it together (or sections of their disfunctional political system will glom onto the bomb and use it for their own purposes), so that leaves them with political posturing. That we can tolerate, like we’ve been tolerating a great deal of their posturing for the last 50 years.

I predict a chair will hit Biden in the back the next time he turns it on the media.

I think it will begin to become apparent to the American people that the electoral process is no longer relevant in this country. The game is rigged. When that begins to impact, is when the second phase kicks in.

Historically at midnight on the night of April 18, 1775 at least in appearance the British rule over the American colonies was both legitimate and accepted. It may have been because of habit, loyalty, or it may have been because of fear of British military power. By the end of the day on April 19th, that no longer held.

That was, of course, the day of the battles of Concord and Lexington. British troops marched through both, searching for contraband [from the British point of view] weapons and munitions. The locals resisted, and the Brits failed to secure what they were after, but if that was all that it was it would simply have been another incident that in and of itself did not threaten British rule.

But, there was a difference. When the militias of the surrounding villages heard of what was going on, however imperfect their information was, their immediate reaction was to march to the sound of the guns. No unified command. No conspiracy. Just do what must be done.

As it happened, they started counter-attacking the British at the place called Meriam’s Corner on the British route back to Boston. Militia poured in and the British only made it back to Boston because a relief column came out to rescue them. And spontaneously, the militias besieged the city and worked together to do so. The next step being the Battle of Bunker Hill, which we will not go into. The point I am making is that things reached the point where spontaneous resistance was the automatic reaction of Patriot Americans, beginning at Meriam’s Corner.

Expect a Meriam’s Corner moment.

In 2023 humanity will have eaten the 30 days worth of strategic food supplies that are left globally.

The lack of fossil fuel Fertilizer will begin to have an impact. Hunger will grow and deepen each year for the next 5 years.

I need to garden better. I had a decent green bell pepper plant, that’s it, the squirrels, I have a huge posse and I can’t bring myself to harm them, destroy my attempts at tomatoes and other veggies every freaking year. Not the peppers amd bells.
But if we are going to starve I could make squirrel roast , lots of dear and a creek with fish. Problem is everyone one around here will be hunting and fishing. I feel
Like granny from the clampers, but she was a better survivor than me, better shot too.

Maybe dried food. Tried my hand at dehydrating before.

I’m a mess at survival but I better either buy those survival foods or get a whole lot more proficient.

Prediction:

The NYT will come up with a new game even more popular than Wordle, called “Word’ad” (Word Salad) generated wholly from speeches by Kamala Harris.

I’m waiting for Elon Musk and friends to buy the NY Times.

After Twitter, I think he has his hands full and he is definitely losing money

I laugh, his losing money that could never dream of in a million lifetimes

Elon is at the point now that he doesn’t give a damn about money.. He has more than Midas. Today he is building power and influence, I suggested to him long ago I buy GM or Ford or another car company . He politely said he through it not an opportune move.

There are a number of predictions and comments about growing gardens. Here’s my advice: grow gardens for fun. If they help you survive, it’s a bonus. Gardening is a rewarding hobby, whether you grow for the flowers or for food, or both. You help produce life and it makes you feel good. And it just may make you feel better about your little corner of the world.

The continued rush to a nuclear holocaust will continue and I’m surprised that none of the commentators mention this growing possibility. Perhaps, its just too terrifying to contemplate, bu t if you want to survive. If you want your family to survive I suggest you give it some very concentrated thought as the disaster can break out at any time. The Cuban Missile Crisis pales in comparison to the nuclear disaster we now face. Love them or hate them both Khruschev and Kennedy were sane and fully cognizant of the indescribable consequences of nuclear wa. . TODAY, this very moment the button is in the hands of bombastic fools and demented fiends advised by creatures that make Dr, Strangelove appear sane. The war will erupt most probably by accident by accident and then escalate into world wide disaster. Tens of millions will be lost in the first exchange, 100’s of millions in the resulting fallout, and billions in the inevitable nuclear winter. This ,my friends, is an increasingly likely scenario. Let’s all get on our knees and pray to whatever God we worship that I am dead wrong. Let Me suggest that the most likely places to survive are South America with Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay on my list. If I were any of you I’d start making preparations to move yourself and family there immediately. Lovely, peaceful may be a refuge but I fear the entire Northern Hemisphere may be destroyed. God Help Us!

While I share your concern about nuclear war, where for a short while I worked for an aerospace contractor on Reagan’s Peacekeeper / MX missile program, I prefer to live near ground zero – because nuclear war is not something I would want to survive approaching 70.

The other thing that puzzles me, is advocating prayer to God, about whom scripture says “To live is Christ, to die is gain”. Not that I’m looking for anyone to off me so I can be with Christ, but, with the choice being survive a nuclear exchange and a miserable life on earth thereafter, or to be with Christ, I choose Christ. Hence, living near ground zero is of no particular concern of mine.

I think several of you are wrong about the southern border because it is starting to impact blue cities and pressure from them will cause a change. Biden will have a medical episode and Kameltoe will briefly take over. China will not invade Taiwan because they too rely on the chips that only Taiwan can produce. The Dems will sour on Biden and his giggling soulmate and push Newsome to run. The EV cult will begin to decline to make all of the major auto builders look silly except Toyota who claims that it is not ready to concede the ICE market is dead. Kevin McCarthy has offered the 18 holdouts free insider trading if they will vote for him. Jill Biden (Dr.) will make sofas out of her favorite dresses and sell them for charity.
