Liz Cheney’s J6 Committee Show Trial Theatrics Are Further Exposed After ‘Concerning Messages’ Source Is Revealed

Liz Cheney’s J6 Committee Show Trial Theatrics Are Further Exposed After ‘Concerning Messages’ Source Is Revealed

“Cheney could have asked Hutchinson about [the messages] right then and there. But she instead chose to do the TV tease and leave everybody hanging.” – Byron York

The January 6th hearings are unquestionably carefully orchestrated show trials designed to try and make self-important committee members look like they are “doing something!” to get to the bottom of the Capitol riot incident, who was allegedly behind it all, etc.

Unfortunately for the Democrat/NeverTrump “Republican” committee members, not only have they failed to produce any evidence that former President Trump intended to incite supporters to get them to breach the Capitol and/or was involved in some vast alleged conspiracy to subvert the democratic process or whatever, but their TV ratings have been abysmal, which is further confirmation that their efforts to “get Trump” are not the midterm election year motivator they’d intended them to be.

Just this week, we saw “star witness” Cassidy Hutchinson’s “bombshell” hearsay testimony about how Trump allegedly tried to assault a Secret Service agent in order to take over “the Beast” (or SUV) so he could join the protesters fall apart when the Secret Service told reporters that the two agents at the center of this fantastical tale were willing to testify under oath that what Hutchinson was told happened never happened, but that curiously they had not been called upon to do so this week by the committee for reasons that should be obvious to anyone.

And now, in addition to seeing other parts of Hutchinson’s testimony crumble, we’ve learned that the source for two “concerning” mystery messages Cheney teased towards the end of Hutchinson’s day of questioning was Hutchinson herself, though Cheney did not reveal that information after she read them:

The Jan. 6 select committee publicly pointed to two communications this week as potential evidence of Trump World’s efforts to influence witness testimony — without revealing their origin. Both were detailed to the panel by Cassidy Hutchinson, according to a person familiar with the last of her four depositions.

Both of the two slides that the panel revealed at the end of its live hearing with Hutchinson reflected conversations she described to the committee in her final closed-door deposition, this person said. Hutchinson told the committee at the time that, on the eve of her earlier March 7 deposition, an intermediary for former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows contacted her to say that her former boss valued her loyalty.

Watch:

In response to the revelation that the messages came directly from Hutchinson, the DC Examiner‘s Byron York wrote a Twitter thread breaking down the absurd theatrical nature of what Cheney and the rest of the committee did (and did not do) in regards to the brief end-of-day slide presentation:

He wrote a more comprehensive breakdown here.

“Why doesn’t the committee just say what it knows?” York asked. Perhaps because it “knows” nothing and fully intends to drag this charade out as long as they can because the committee has nothing of substance to offer to American voters and (wrongly) believes that eventually, this will win voters over if they just hang on a little while longer.

All signs point to this not being a winning issue at all for Democrats come November, but the old saying comes to mind here about how it’s best not to interrupt one’s political enemies when they’re in the process of destroying themselves.

This committee is behaving the same way as Robert Duvall’s character LTC Kilgore in the movie Apocalypse Now. He orders his BN to assault a particular beach because of the waves exclaiming ‘Charlie don’t surf’ when told the N Vietnamese controlled the position.

IOW the committee is taking these actions because they want to and are abusing their authority to do so.

Point of order. Kilgore’s unit was a squadron, both because it was a air asset and because it was an air cavalry unit. Battalion-level units in the cavalry are squadrons. I know. I served in one.

BTW, the first time I saw “Apocalypse Now”, if I hadn’t known that Kilgore was Robert Duvall, I would have asked, “Where did they get the air cavalry commander?”

When the Republicans come back into power, they should be sure to do this exact same show-trial thing for Fast and Furious. That one involved violations of international law, for heaven’s sake.

    They won’t.

Bitch McConnell is going to put that idiot Grahamnesty back ‘in charge’ of the Judiciary where he can once again make a couple stupid speeches and not issue a single subpoena, and Frank Luntz’s roommate will put an idiot like Gowdy in charge that spends years ‘investigating’ without ever managing to accomplish a single meaningful thing.

The RINOs think they have this in the bag, and don’t want to be beholden to any pesky promises of actually accomplishing anything when they take control.

Yeah, but this one is a House committee. But hey, it’s not Kevin McCarthy is going to do anything to upset the Democrats of have people on the Sunday shows say bad things about him.

“When the Republicans come back into power,…”

Momentary lapse I’m sure but they are in power. What is happening is all with their approval. 100%.

If they don’t impeach Bleep and Merrickovich Garlandski right out of the starting gate, it’s all over. And they won’t. What’s the point?

Cassidy Hutchinson should be prosecuted for perjury, at the very least.

I’m not sure she can be. Everything she said was “told to her” second hand so it’s just what she claims someone else said or heresay. She compounded that by using “to the effect of” multiple times giving her an out that it was just her interpretation of what was said or her opinion.

Indeed–she was coached to avoid perjury charges while insinuating what most of the media wants to hear.

      Barry in reply to diver64. | July 3, 2022 at 4:23 pm

Except she lied when she said “told to her” by a party that should know, when it was what she was coached to say. Just more lies.

Depends on who wrote the memo and her testimony that Trump said let them through with weapons.

When GOP takes back the house they should refocus investigation onto Pelosi, Capital police, and DC Mayor. Then to make liberal heads explode they should call President Trump to testify against them and give him full blanket immunity for his testimony.

Mitch the Bitch is trying to get Liz re-elected.

I really can’t see how this helps not only Dems but Cheney unless she is trying to bolster her creds to switch parties. When someone lies or tells half truths that are exploded within hours it looks very bad and even Dems who hate Trump don’t believe it and are starting to look askance at this farce.

Well, I’m guessing this is the best the Democrats can offer, with baby formula shortages and $5.00 gasoline, there isn’t much else. Given the way they’ve engineered this show, I suspect they wouldn’t do any better on the real issues Americans need dealt with.

“Wonder why we heard nothing about this”

Probably because there is no there, there. At least in this “Breaking” news. There is nothing to confirm the statement.

Is it true? Of course. I knew that before Jan 6th.

At this point, I think even other imbeciles will acknowledge that Liz Cheney isn’t very bright. The real question is why someone, even someone as stupid and greedy as Liz, would self-destruct like this. I think the answer is that she has no choice. Her entire career was a gift from her father which he was able to make due to the influence he and his cronies exercised over the Republican Party. Trump took away that influence thereby endangering not only Liz’s place at the government trough, but her entire identity and self-image. Without Daddy’s largesse, Liz is a nonentity and she can’t live with that. Her current path will certainly lead to self-destruction, but thanks to MSNBC, CNN and other “establishment” hacks, it will allow Liz to stay in the spotlight just a little bit longer than otherwise. And she will have the satisfaction of damaging those brighter and more compassionate than the Cheney family.

She’s a good commie operative who has accomplished a lot for them, and the reason she’ll lose in 2022 isn’t all this that she’s doing now, but the mere fact that Wyoming is catching on to the fact that she is a Democrat.

On the way out she’ll continue to get as much done as she can.

She has a choice. She has chosen the evil path of marxist supporter.

SeekingRationalThought in reply to Barry. | July 3, 2022 at 7:40 pm

People think Swamp creatures are dumb or evil. They are both.. I keep pointing out that careerists like Cheney are basically stupid because we need to keep that in mind when figuring out how to deal with their corruption and lunatic ideas. We also need to remember that most jf not all of the “progressives” are evil. That should provide the motivation to deal ruthlessly with these evil imbeciles And peacefully. This can’t be stressed too much due to all the “progressive” propagandists out there who actually like the violence on their side of the divide.

Liz Cheney should be prosecuted. Of course the DOJ won’t do it. Merrick Garland, of course not!

I just realized Liz Cheney can’t be prosecuted for the show she’s putting on in Congress. She has immunity via “speech and debate”. And so she can lie, dissemble, mislead, spread disinformation, as much as she and the Dems can arrange, and they’re all untouchable.

The story about Pres. Trump trying to grab the wheel of the “SUV” did not make sense. The witness needs to explain why he was not in the Beast. Then, if he was in the Beast, how could he possibly get to the wheel? In every Limo I have seen or ridden in, the principal sits far away from the driver, often with jump seats between the driver and the principal.

DaveGinOly in reply to surfcitylawyer. | July 4, 2022 at 1:01 am

Hutchinson said (and, according to her own telling, would have had to have been told by someone else, an eye witness) that Trump was in the Beast. But we have since learned that was incorrect, and that he was in fact in an SUV. So yes, he could have reached the steering wheel, but Hutchinson had already screwed up the story with her reference to the Beast.

Imagine, for a moment, that the story is true. Why would the Secret Service not want to verify it? Because if it’s true, then the Secret Service potentially altered US history when they prevented Trump, the only person who could have single-handedly prevented the riot, from being at the scene. I will leave it to the reader if that might have been exactly what the agents feared, and that they had possibly been ordered to prevent Trump from making an appearance.

Now let’s further imagine that Trump did have a plan to incite a riot at the Capitol. Wasn’t that plan thwarted by the Secret Service when its agents prevented him from going to the Capitol and putting his plan into effect? But there was a riot at the Capitol. If it was Trump’s riot, who started it for him? Surely, such actors would have been identified and arrested by now. And if it wasn’t Trump’s riot, whose riot was it? (Remember, it’s the 1/6 Committee that wants us to believe the riot was the result of a carefully orchestrated plan. If a well-planned event went off without Trump’s direct participation, it’s obvious he must have had his own agents there. Who were those people? Their absence from the Committee’s program speaks volumes.)

Fatkins in reply to DaveGinOly. | July 4, 2022 at 8:14 am

Couple of points, the testimony is recollection of someones recount of events so who cares about whether it was the beast or not. Secondly no one really cares what others say utside of the hearing, if they want their piece heard they can testify under oath like Hutchinson has. The CIA agents in question are know Trump acolytes and a certain agent a known liar.

On your specific point on the agents preventing Trump going, sure that thwarts an aspect of the plan, that doesnt change the facts around Trump being part of the plan or his intentions. Why Trump prevent the riot? All the evidence points to the opposite intention on his part.

Yes a lot of people have been arrested re Jan 6th that’s old news, what’s also old news is the fact the DoJ start bottom up, because they build the case towards the higher up individuals. And yes they have been pretty aggressive against people like Eastman and Clarke by ceasing phones etc. That’s assuredly a sign of a progressing investigation

        4rdm2 in reply to Fatkins. | July 4, 2022 at 8:43 am

No, that is a sign of democrats abusing power like they always do.

          Fatkins in reply to 4rdm2. | July 4, 2022 at 10:49 am

That doesn’t follow from what I’ve said, not even remotely. When their is evidence, (which there is tonnes of) its absolutely the case that law enforcement should take action. The publics record evidence alone is enough to indict Trump and his conspirators. What you are really saying is you don’t want your man to be held to the same standards as anyone else.

Its always amusing reading this site, the pretzel like logic and obscuring of inconvenient facts alongside the wholesale ignorance of the mass of evidence is highly entertaining. ITs like reading a fantasy novel with only an antagonist.
