Georgia Senate Runoff RESULTS — Warnock Wins, As of Tuesday Night, Other Race Still Too Close to Call

The two races are too close to call as of 10 p.m. Eastern.

Georgia voters are picking their U.S. senators on Tuesday.

This election will determine which party controls the senate. However, if it splits tonight, the control would go to the democrats since Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will be the tie-breaking vote.

The control of the Senate is the top priority for voters:

The national implications of Georgia’s Senate elections were not lost on the state’s voters: One survey found that, almost universally, voters in Tuesday’s runoffs thought about what their decision would mean for which party controls the Senate.

In preliminary results from AP VoteCast, a large survey of runoff voters, some 94% of voters said control of the Senate was an important consideration in their choice of candidate, including 60% who called it the single most important factor.

Four percent called it a minor factor, and 3 percent said it wasn’t a factor at all.

Georgia counties have a deadline of January 15 to certify results. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has until January 22 to certify the statewide results.

The polls closed at 7 p.m. ET and vote counting started:

The vote counting began Tuesday night, but the final result may not be known for days, a state election official said, given the large number of mail-in ballots. In November, final results took weeks to be certified. With spending exceeding $500 million, the races are among the most expensive Senate contests in history.

More than three million votes had already been cast before Tuesday, underscoring the high interest in the two races. Given that attention, the number of people at polling places was said to be relatively light early on Tuesday, in a state where lines at polling stations during high-interest elections have been common.

In Dekalb County, home to a large chunk of Atlanta, a Democratic stronghold, Election-Day voting surpassed the turnout on Nov. 3 Election Day, county officials said. In the afternoon, voting picked up in several Republican strongholds, including Cherokee County.

Republican strategists working on the runoffs say that if more than a million voters turn out on Election Day, they feel very good about their candidates’ chances.

As more and more rights and liberties of the people are extinguished, the Republican Party has less and less value. There is less to defend (poorly). The promise of holding the fort or even regaining any rights is a big lie. If the Party had done more than lip service, there would be a reason to support them. This total abandonment of the defense of the election process was the final straw for me. Protecting thieves and giving shelter to criminals is all they want to do.

If you claim something happened last night in Atlanta you need to cite evidence for that, and not Gateway Pundit. The voting machines in heavily red districts stopped working and the poll workers promised to run the ballots later. I’ve heard that one before.

That’s normal procedure. Machines do break. I’m not familiar with the Georgia machines, but here in NYC it’s my job to open the scanners in the morning and close them down when the last voter in line has voted. In the morning I open the emergency ballot compartment in each scanner and make sure it’s empty, then I lock it with the flap shut so that it should be impossible to put anything in. At the end of the day I open it and check again, and if everything has gone well it should be empty; if it isn’t that’s a problem that I have to report immediately.

But if at any point in the day that scanner was down then the emergency flap is opened and people deposit their ballots inside. When the scanner comes back up the flap is once again closed and locked. At the end of the day, when I check it and find that it contains ballots, the site coordinators — a Republican and a Democrat — working together are supposed to empty the compartment and feed each ballot into the scanner. If the scanner is still down at the end of the day then they feed the emergency ballots into a different scanner.

Hey Milhouse, can you give us an example of one story that the Gateway Pundit got wrong?

Milhouse in reply to MarkS. | January 6, 2021 at 10:15 am

Darryl Wilson’s alleged injury, which Jim Hoft insisted he had from a completely reliable source, and that was complete bullshit. And he never withdrew that claim or mentioned it again. That was what told me his word was worthless, so I stopped reading him. Therefore I can’t give you a lot of other examples.

But recently I did look at another claim, because so many people were repeating it and the source seemed to be a piece at GWP, this time by his brother Joe, who is just as big a liar. It was the claim that (1) Pelosi’s former chief of staff was now Dominion’s CEO, and (2) Richard Blum owns a controlling stake in Dominion.

Joe Hoft is so brazen a liar that I didn’t have to look any farther than his own cited evidence to find that he was full of shit.

The link he provided for the first claim said explicitly that the person in question doesn’t even work for Dominion, let alone as its CEO. He works for a K Street lobbying firm (as do so many former congressional staffers), one of whose clients happens to be Dominion, and he is on that account.

For the second claim he provided (1) An SEC filing (2) from about 15 years ago (3) showing that Blum had bought a minuscule share, less than 1% (4) of a completely different and unrelated company. That company was located in Boston and publicly listed in the USA, which was why he had to file with the SEC; Dominion is a Canadian company, so nobody buying shares in it would be filing anything with the SEC; it’s also a private company, so there’d be no filing with the Canadian authorities either. And Blum never had a significant holding in that company either, and on top of that he sold those shares long ago. All of that was right there, except the fact that he later sold he shares. After something stinking like that, is there any point in looking for even more evidence of shit?

        WillS68 in reply to MarkS. | January 6, 2021 at 10:31 am

I can give you one recent “story”. The assault of an elderly man in MI by a young COVID paitent. GP published the wrong facility name and opined how the police had no information. Truth was the guy was already in custody and the facility was cooperating with police. I live in MI and used the “correction” feature on GP to alert them that they’d made a mistake. It took them several days to respond and when they did it was a canned email.

GP plays fast and loose with the facts, IMO.

Why would we expect anything different this time?

    Yep.

    More laughable bullshit.

Chatham county just announced they’ve stopped counting for the night at 11 fucking PM.

It’s over, the RINOs bent over and took it.

    This is a fucking farce.

Live, real-time Dem cheating going on, no doubt.

So, here we have confirmed reports that Fulton County is counting ballots without any Republican monitors present and with the computer screens turned away from the press. We still have no idea if the ballots, which had to be filled out by hand for later entry, because the voting machines in several heavily GOP counties were not working, have been faithfully tabulated. We’ll have to see what other glitches crop up.

One would think that after the problems which have surfaced in the 2020 General election, in GA, tha these counting and votiing processes would be done strictly by the book. Yet, we are seeing the same old thing happening again.

There has been no remedy for past cheating, at any level. And John Roberts is responsible because he is a prejudiced, political hack unworthy of his position.

Try using another search engine. The machines being down was heavily reported, including on local media such as channel 45. Even the state elections office released a statement on the issue.

There are so many RINOs in the Senate that Cameltoe Harris won’t be a tie-breaker. At least a half-dozen “Republicans” will vote with the commies no matter what the issue.

Time for Manchin to propose a deal.

Without dems having the senate, Biden can’t wreck the economy (too much more), and will take all the credit for Trumps’s vaccine and economic recovery that Biden would be unable to screw with.

With dems having the senate, Biden is forced to visibly comply with the Marxists going too far too fast, and the public may bolt and finally reject socialism and practically revolt in response and subsequent elections.

Maybe I’m completely wrong. Of course, this hinges on the questionable assumption that our elections mean anything.

Its a difficult dynamic even losing the Georgia run off. I’d suggest that it’s more likely (in context of a possible GOP split) the far left and far right of both parties will be pushed out and the more moderate aspects of both parties will form some kind of consensus on policy. That’s my optimistic view for the time being.

      alaskabob in reply to mark311. | January 6, 2021 at 11:09 am

Equating the far Right and far Left is shortsighted. The trajectory of the Democrat Party has always been leftward. The far Right…interesting term…is more for retaining the basic tenants of the Constitution. Your hope is in vein.

I took out Loeffler and Perdue isn’t listed because his term expired.

The dems have 46 plus Angus King, Independent of Maine and Bernie Sanders, freak of Vermont, for 48.

The GOP, including all rinos but not loeffler/perdue have 50.

So, win just one, and we’re good. Except for the normal wobblers like Collins, Romney, and Murkowski.

Mittens must be proud to be in the pack with the girls.

So now you understand why, even in my former days as a conservative D, I made sure to vote against the Mittster.

I thought Loedfer had a better shot at winning over Warnock (crazy, rabid Marxist), and she apparently “lost” (doubtful she really did with all the cheating). So, the likelihood at this point of a Perdue win….?
I am praying for a miracle.

No point in watching the results until the mysterious 4AM massive vote dump in deep-blue counties comes in.

The post by Olinser after yours says DeKalb dumped 100k votes for both Democrats. They didn’t bother to wait until 4am.

How many times does it have to be explained the spike in votes is because Democrats prefer to use postal vote. This isn’t a mystery it’s well understood and perfectly legal. Its NOT fraud.

How many times does it have to be pointed out to you that “voting by mail” is so inherently insecure and open to fraud that no other Western democracy dares to use it to the extent that the US does?

Completely wrong, postal voting is used extensively in a number of countries. Australia, France,uk,Germany , finland and more. The experience of those countries and indeed in the USA is that there is limited evidence of fraud. Trump’s own commission on this very topic disbanded due to the lack of evidence supporting your claim.

Our constitution gives the power to determine how state electors are chosen to the state legislators. Most (all?) of the swing states didn’t follow their own laws, but if the state legislatures don’t act, then it’s legal. At least that’s what the Supreme Court’s decision meant to the state of Texas and the states that joined their suit against PA.

Mail-in voting? Well it’s theoretically possible that can be done without fraud, but very few nations will run the risk.

Too close to call? Give me a break. They got away with it in November, and they will do it again.

So democrats probably need more time to manufacture ballots. Tomorrow morning I’m sure we’ll see miraculous and math-free results for Assoff and Warlock.

Same old crap.

Dekalb county is at 42%, every other county at 89% plus counted. What a surprise. It’s been sitting there for a while.

Waiting to see how many votes they need to manufacture before counting Dekalb.

oh, and the votes are 80%+ for Democrats in Dekalb.

This election will determine which party controls the senate. However, if it splits tonight, the control would go to the democrats since Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will be the tie-breaking vote.

No, if it splits the Reps have a majority. The Dems have to win both seats in order to tie the senate and let Harris cast her vote.

felixrigidus in reply to Milhouse. | January 6, 2021 at 5:21 am

No, if it splits tonight with Pierre Delecto rectifying his party affiliation D will have the majority in the Senate.
If only legal votes are counted and the Republicans have 52 seats Delecto’s actions don’t change who is the majority so he’ll continue to claim the (R).

Based on what Barry, what’s your evidence. If it’s as good as what you’ve presented elsewhere then I’m going to say nothing.

This is looking like one final parting gift Trump gave the democratic party.

Rave like a lunatic for two months about how the election was stolen, don’t even allege a stolen election in court, refuse to concede and attack your own side while telling your supporters the elections are all rigged and you might lose an election somewhere roughly evenly split.

The question is will there be a point following politics further? DC + Puerto Rico (4 more senate seats) Amnesty (TX goes blue putting the presidency permanently out of reach), and supreme court packed if it gives a ruling the democrats don’t like….

Thanks Trump.

Instead of pushing, pushing, pushing the fact that Republicans MUST go out and vote, President Trump drowned out that message by spending most of his time (I watched his ‘rally’) whining about his stolen election and how the Senate runoff was illegitimate. Then L. Lin Wood (D-Conspiracy Theorist) part of Trumps 1-60 crack legal team, ran around the state TELLING Republicans not to vote. And, guess what – they didn’t in enough numbers to ensure a loss. Yeah, it’s totally TRUMP’S fault that after being the victim of egregious fraud, and the RINOs refusing to do anything to stop future fraud, that both Senate seats were cheated to the Democrats.

    Regular MENSA member, aren’t you?

Someone picks your pocket or steals your identity. How often are criminals actually caught? That does not mean a crime was not committed.

For people so sure of the result, why so afraid to be transparent? Hiding behind standing and other technicalities makes it seem like something to hide.

It will be a long time to crawl from the darkness brought forth by the nihilism of the woke generation, trending toward a police state.

    Lecture on, please.

The evidence has been presented in court , hearings have been held outside of court to demonstrate the Trump case. Everytime they got eviscerated. You seem to be under the impression that technicalities have been used only that simply isn’t true. Experts have been called , avidavits looked at, legal arguments in various forms have been put forward. They have all failed because the argument and the evidence is weak. I know some people believe that the fraud is hard to detect , I’m unconvinced of that but the point remains that there is limited and weak proof of fraud and the burden remains on the accuser to prove it. That simply hasn’t happened.

        mark311

The evidence of fraud is overwhelming, but it isn’t necessary to prove fraud in order to come to the conclusion that the general election was not conducted in accordance with election laws. The changes to the election laws made by SOSs, and Governors in PA and GA were illegal because only State Legisllatures can change State laws. The changes to signature verification requirements were made in order to facilitate mail-in voting fraud, and they succeeded.

Separate and apart from election fraud and the issue of Dominion Voting Machine fraud, the mere counting of ballots other than in a bipartisan fashion means that no one can say that the count is accurate. Nothing short of
bipartisan counting can produce a fair election. The notion that this defect can be cured by observers is patently ridiculous.

What planet are you on? All these claims have been tried and tested in court and failed miserably. Every point you made has been thoroughly tested. Every piece of evidence subject to scrutiny has fallen apart because it’s weak or in some cases just an out right lie.

Your point about election laws is disengenious. If those laws were truly that bad why weren’t they challenged at the time of enactment or prior to the election. Once the election took place the remedy to rectify what you say became grossly disproportionate.

Your reference to dominion machine fraud as mentioned in my general statement above has been totally debunked and shredded. As for other fraud yet again no evidence.

The burden of proof is on you to prove your position as to not disenfranchise millions of americans. That is utterly immoral.

felixrigidus in reply to Terence G. Gain. | January 6, 2021 at 1:26 pm

Basically everything mark311 asserts is false.

Let’s pick a few examples, shall we?

“Every point you made has been thoroughly tested.”
It does not become true through repetition, you know?

“Every piece of evidence subject to scrutiny has fallen apart because it’s weak or in some cases just an out right lie.”
          You confuse evidence and proof.

“at the time of enactment or prior to the election.”
You don’t address the point made, for example, Ratsburger colluded with the Democrat party via “settlement agreement” to deliberately misapply election law.

“The burden of proof is on you to prove your position as to not disenfranchise millions of (A)mericans.”
Or politicians who derive dominion over their fellow citizens bear the burden of proof and have to prove they were actually elected? Personally, I prefer that to the alternative, because those that want to govern over us need to prove their right to do so, or so it would seem to follow from basic principles as we are created equal as that pesky Declaration states.

        Mac45 in reply to mark311. | January 6, 2021 at 12:40 pm

Actually you are incorrect, Mark. You really have to broaden your informatiion sources beyond CNN and MSNBC.

No court has ruled on any of the evidence of fraud or even election law violations. All the court challenges were denied on the basis of such technicalities as standing. The evidence was not eviscerated, it was simply ignored. No actual witnesses were heard and affidavits were ignored.

What the court cases were asking for was the court to acknowledge that there was significant evidence that both election law violations and likely voter fraud had occurred and that certification should be suspended until a proper investigation and hearing could be done. And, there was more than enough evidence to support the granting of that request. Such things happen all of the time, in courts. We saw it happen in several cases filed against immigration EOs. We have seen it happen in numerous environmental cases. We see it happening all of the time, and often with far less concrete evidence than was presented in the cases challenging the 2020 Presidential election.

Legislative hearings have gone much better. Actual witnesses were presented and in most cases their testimony has never been rebutted. They testified on such things as election law violations, such as excluding, hindering and discriminating against GOP monitors which have been corroborated by video evidence. Most legislatures have chosen to claim that the matter is out of their hands and done nothing [WI being a possible exception].

Even in the face of video evidence of election law violations, law enforcement agencies have opened no significant investigations. There is certainly enough evidence to establish reasonable suspicion of criminal activity to warrant an investigation. Yet none are ongoing.

The evidence presented, so far, has not been debunked and certainly not eviscerated. Where actual hearings on the evidence have been conducted, the evidence has been compelling. The problem is that the elements of the government, which are supposed to guarantee the integrity of elections by compelling laws, governing the running of elections, to be enforced, have refused to do that. None of these entities want to actually her thee evidence and take any kind of action.

As to the evidence presented, there has been clear evidence of violations of election law. There is strong circumstantial evidence that vote fraud occurred in several locales and that it was significant enough change the legitimate results of the election for President. While this is not enough, in and of itself, to prove the level of fraudulent activity, with sufficient time and a comprehensive investigation that question might actually be answered. However, no one, in a position of responsibility, seems willing to do that.

So, we are left with the problem of significant evidence that election law violations occurred existing which may very well have changed the lawful results of the election of a President and no organ of the government is doing anything to determine the truth. This casts doubt, in the minds of a significant portion of the electorate, that the results of the election were not arrived at lawfully. This, in turn, casts doubt upon the veracity of any future election. So, how can the people trust the system to safeguard the rights of the people? Lack of trust in the system to usually results in the changing of that system.

Danny, we know you’re full of shit.

felixrigidus in reply to Danny. | January 6, 2021 at 7:22 am

What makes you think the voters that have voted for Trump because they have been losing out no matter if the blue or the red part of the establishment uni-party gets their turn at the trough owe GOPe anything?

The working poor assume with some justification that their personal life is not getting meaningfully worse. Who really will feel the difference is the comfortable David-Frenchism surrender crowd. Unlike the deplorables they look down upon they are unused to living in squalor.

One upside will be that overnight none of these establishment republicans will be allowed on air in the MSM any longer and we are spared the disgusting spectacle of these Quislings.

Of course the democrats HAD to cheat again. It’s their only play at this point. The only thing they have left is hoping enough people will believe the fake outcome. But they got caught again, and this time they got caught much earlier in the night.

The longer the count goes on, the more chances for vote stealing. Common Democrat technique.

Did any of you think this was going to be an honest election?

Why on earth would you think such a thing?

There is no law going forward and none of us should feel bound by it.

The Conservatives are worried tonight but the Democrats are sleeping easily because they know the fix is in.

Can we cut to the chase already? We need to get the hell out of what was once our country, and take what is ours before we are hunted down and destroyed.

Start the divorce talks.

Yep, Decision Desk HQ has called both races for the D’s. I guess tomorrow may be interesting in DC.

Yeah, it will be fun to watch a bunch of people that think that spending the day yelling at the sky will rectify any of this

I wonder if McConnell and the rest of the Franz von Papen Republicans are starting to regret their strategy of turning a blind eye to massive voting fraud. Using the Communists and their voting fraud machine to get rid of Trump just blew up in their faces – twice. Probably not – the GOPe is determined to expel the Deplorables from the Republican Party at ANY cost and return the GOP to its pre-Trump soft Marxism.

But I wonder just how much longer McConnell will be the Republican Senate leader. Unless he is totally brain dead (a possibility that cannot be dismissed) he has to know that the Communist voting fraud machine will now go nationwide under the Biden* administration. He also has to be aware – if only dimly – that on November 3 the USA crossed a Rubicon, and no matter how badly the Communists screw up there is now zero possibility of the dirty proles voting them out of office (get ready for nationwide ballot harvesting, mandatory voting by mail, and the GOP getting wiped out in 2022). If you are McConnell, why not cash out now and spend your declining years writing a memoir deflecting blame to Trump and the Deplorables to cover up your staggering blunders?

We’re fked aren’t we?
Tank Abrams said she had a million votes coming.

Maybe this time the GOP actually wakes up and really audits the absentee ballots. Maybe historic rejection figures return. There is little doubt that both Republican candidates have won if only legal votes are counted.

But with the Ratburger standards in place, it will be interesting to see if they dare to actually enforce election law – because if they do now the difference to their complicity in the steal might be too stark.

And remember: we always fight the “long defeat” so there is no way to give up just because the cheat machine seems to have won out this time. We need to fight to only count legal votes now.

If and when we (most likely) have lost that fight because of the complicity of Ratburger and his cohorts we cannot give one inch.
At least we’ll have ample time when Biden and his fellow travelers have destroyed the economy.

    mark311 in reply to felixrigidus. | January 6, 2021 at 8:11 am

There have been numerous audits all of which back up the original counts within a percentage margin of error

      felixrigidus in reply to mark311. | January 6, 2021 at 9:07 am

If you count a bundle of dollar bills that contains a non-zero number of counterfeit dollar bills you will have the same number when your “audit” is simply a recount instead of an actual audit which will identify counterfeit bills and not count them.

What you call an “audit” is just a recount named to confuse people into believing that the validity of any votes was meaningfully checked.

        mark311 in reply to felixrigidus. | January 6, 2021 at 11:20 am

There have been a number of recounts, audits carried out. Including hand recounts of the ballots. These have all tallied correctly. Adding in extra hurdles is a waste of time and a waste of money. If you have no proof of your accusation which you don’t then adding extra hurdles for an imaginary problem makes no sense

      Terence G. Gain in reply to mark311. | January 6, 2021 at 10:13 am

      mark311

In fact, there hasn’t been even one audit. An audit would require that every single mail-in envelope be inspected to determine whether it was sent in by a registered voter. Once ballots were separated from the mail-in envelopes an audit became impossible. And an audit would also require that every single ballot be inspected by someone with the capability of Jovan Pulitzer who claims that he can run ballots through his scanning machines in order to determine whether the ballot is a legitimate ballot and has been counted more than once.

There is sufficient evidence of illegal ballots being counted in GA, PA and WI to set aside the alleged result, but there is not enough political will to do so. If the Democrats expand Scotus, President Trump’s Scotus nominees will regret their failure to stand up for the Constitution.

Mostly correct, except that “Jovan Pulitzer” or whatever he’s calling himself this week is a certifiable lunatic who does not have the expertise he claims, and cannot do the things he claims he can.

But yes, that is what an audit would look like, and it has not been done. There hasn’t even been time for it to be done. And it needs to be done in the next two years. And if a D-controlled senate won’t do it then the GA legislature has to.

Godh, Milhouse…you know everything about everything with a cherry “s” on top. I do take comfort that we both are on the same sinking ship and “the law” will not save it from sinking.

Great; another neo-communist and vicious Jew-hater, jihad rationalizer/apologist/whitewasher and Israel-vilifier in the Senate. Vile Warnock is odious in all respects, but, he is indicative of the Dhimmi-crat Party’s transformation to full-blown radicalism and jihadist obeisance.

I expected this result, born of pessimism and the fact that a bunch of these formerly reliably “red” states have been drifting leftwards, for a while.

America is facing a block of voters who do not care about the US Constitution or capitalism. They will vote in communism, as the Czechs once did, to find that you can’t vote them out. We must focus on the 2022 election and try our best to educate the ignorant.

    mark311 in reply to Gersh204. | January 6, 2021 at 8:19 am

Well for one it wasn’t the czech republic it was czechoslovakia. Second the communist part had majority rules in the early years and then carried out a coup so not quite as straight forward as you make out. Thirdly the czech republic is well known for the velvet revolution which in effect ended Soviet rule and communist rule peacefully. So I’m not clear it’s a great comparison.

      Gersh204 in reply to mark311. | January 6, 2021 at 9:08 am

The people suffered greatly until the Velvet Revolution in 1989. The communist majority was maintained by a one party state. My comparison is correct. Once you vote in the left they stay like bugs in an Manhattan kitchen. I was in Prague in 1968 and escaped to Austria.

      Milhouse in reply to mark311. | January 6, 2021 at 10:35 am

Mark, Gersh didn’t mention the Czech Republic; you did. And his description was spot on. I don’t understand why you think the fact that the communist dictatorship eventually fell, decades later after they no longer had Russian tanks backing them up, somehow shows they didn’t seize and hold power as they did. Every tyranny eventually falls, one way or another. So does every non-tyranny. If your case is that the Velvet Revolution proves the Czechs could have thrown off the communists any time they liked, then you’re amazingly ignorant. Have you forgotten what happened when they tried in 1968?!

        mark311 in reply to Milhouse. | January 6, 2021 at 11:26 am

Actually he did mention Czech and the point I made is that history isn’t so black and white. The communist party wasn’t voted in as a dictator ship it was a coup. And then I make the point that it actually ended peacefully. Your further point about the ussr tanks doesn’t help either they withdrew due to Perestroika the soviet union effectively dismantled itself.

My basic point is this the current situation bears no resemblance to that of the czechslovakia cha he into a communist state.

It really annoys me that people throw around the word communist. Its fucking stupid, claiming the Democrats are marxist or communist is just plain wrong. Its a pet peeves of mine

          Mac45 in reply to mark311. | January 6, 2021 at 1:10 pm

People use such terms as communist, socialist, liberal, conservative and fascist incorrectly because they are lazy. In and of themselves, there is nothing wrong with socialism, even Marxist communism. And, the terms liberal and conservative are totally variable depending upon when applied to any given situation.

People should actually be using the terms totalitarian and laissez-faire. The Democrat Party, has been espousing more totalitarian government for the last three decades. They have pushed for more and more government control of the lives of the citizenry. This is very similar to Russian Communism, Nazi Germany, a strong monarchy and several types of oligarchies which result in dictatorial controls. The Republicans are little better, opting for less directed government control and increased control by big business and financial interests. A responsive political position would be somewhere in between. It would prioritize the interests of the vast majority of the citizenry over that of a small group of powerful people. Both Parties are actively working on behalf of a small group of powerful, influential people, not the vast majority of the citizenry.

          txvet2 in reply to mark311. | January 6, 2021 at 3:31 pm

“”claiming the Democrats are marxist or communist is just plain wrong.””

Then they should stop calling themselves Marxists/socialists/communists. You’re right, you aren’t, you’re just power mad authoritarians.

          txvet2 in reply to mark311. | January 6, 2021 at 4:00 pm

The Czechs had a parliamentary system. Various factors including actions by external forces (including the US) resulted in the Communists winning a significant number of seats, forcing a weak Benes to include them in his coalition government. Over time, they forced the other coalition parties out of the government, and Benes allowed them to form a communist dominated government. Benes ended up resigning, and the communists held a bogus election to authenticate their takeover. In effect, you’re both right. And in effect, yes, it very much resembles what has just happened here.

alaskabob in reply to Milhouse. | January 6, 2021 at 11:26 am

The idea of eventual failure of these regimes may not happen again as both internal and,as you point out in the oast, external forces may not exist. We could see a perpetual twilight with no resolution. It took both internal and external forces to collapse the Soviet Union. In a globalised homogenized world there will be no outside forces.

As the heavyweight Dem bragged, when Georgia Republicans agreed to no signature matching, any hope of GOP candidates winning was lost. When Senate Republicans refused to approve the $2,000 “stimulus” payment in a sudden bout of fiscal sanity, they sealed the deal. Voters want other people’s money — or in this case, newly printed and worthless money. Republican senators knew if they lost the Senate, the $2,000 was just a downpayment of the funny-money stimulus, but they refused anyway. As for spending, the just-passed bill gives illegal aliens retroactive payments, and the Dems can now hand out stimulus payments to the caravans heading our way as soon as they hit the border in the name of equity and fairness. The votes totals will include the New Democratic senators from the states of DC (sure to be named for a black hero) and Puerto Rico. We are done as a country.

Milhouse in reply to zennyfan. | January 6, 2021 at 10:48 am

when Georgia Republicans agreed to no signature matching,

That did not happen. All signatures in Georgia are checked. The question is what are they checked against. Every application for a postal ballot is checked against the signature on the voter registration. If they don’t match you don’t get a ballot.

The returned ballot used to also be checked against that same signature on the roll. The change the Secretary of State agreed to, because it must have seemed reasonable to him, was that this signature could be checked against either the one on the roll or the one on the application for the ballot.

In principle this should be fine, because that signature was checked against the original. If the application signature matched the roll exactly then it shouldn’t matter which of them is used to match the ballot.

So why did the Dems push for this change? The answer is obviously that not always is the application signature’s match to the roll exact; it’s a well-known fact that signatures change over time, so you have to be generous when matching them. And now they get two bites at the cherry, because the signature on the ballot merely has to match one that was made just a week or two earlier, and it doesn’t even have to match that perfectly. So if you’ve seen the signature on file and can copy it approximately, you’re more likely to get away with it.

Predicting.

The Republican party will split within the next 4 years

Perhaps I’m misunderstanding something here: Loeffler was in the lead at 11pm by about 70K votes. Counting stopped at midnight and was supposed to restart “in the morning”, but magically, at 2am Warnock is suddenly declared the winner.

I hate to say I told you so but I told you so. We demonstrated to them that they can blatantly steal an election with no consequences. There will never be another fair election held in this country.

The soapbox has been obstructed by big tech. The ballot box has been stolen by the democrats. The jury box is closed to us due to political expedience. There’s only one box left.

I’d say we’re pretty much down to “last resort” territory. If we don’t have the will to water the tree of liberty at this point, then we deserve our chains.

So I don’t know if this one or the next one will be the “last straw”, but I am tired of counting straws. This is unadulterated bullshit.

Trump started all this by picking Sessions to be AG. He never grasped the fact that loyalty is meaningless in politics.

Boy if this is correct how many GOP Senators will “retire” once they’re out of power?

Mail-in voting for all is the perfect without any verification is the perfect way to game the system. The GOP has been out maneuvered by DNC lawyers and activist even though Holder all but announced how they’d take back power. Stacey Adams will now be a bigger, bolder “rising star”.

Are we witnessing the Democrats’ Machtergreifung?
How soon will the very few sane Democrats in the Congress be purged?
Will anyone have standing to sue against the packing the Supreme Court with loyal leftists and will useful idiot CJ Roberts be capable of understanding his part in bringing it about?

What happens when the leadership no longer represents the population?

Not much, if the last few decades are any indication. Put on your mask, make sure you don’t get close to anybody, and by no means open up your business or allow too many customers in the door if you’ve been allowed to open. The sheep have been well trained.
