Michelle Obama’s Grammys Buzz – A reminder of the mediocrity of Democrat presidential candidates
What will Michelle do when Democrats turn to her in near unison and plead with her to save them from four more years of Orange Man Bad?
I’ve long predicted that the point would come when Democrats, frustrated and forlorn at the mediocre qualities of their primary candidates, would search for a salvation candidate.
Think about who have declared so far: Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Amy from Minnesota, Kirsten Gillibrand — all second tier politicians who will pick up the anti-Trump vote just by being Democrats, but not much more. Tulsi Gabbard is a new face nationally, but has too much Assad baggage. Julian Castro is the guy who had less responsibility as Mayor of San Antonio than Sarah Palin had as the Mayor of Wasilla.
Think about who might enter the race: Joe Biden and Bernie? A smoocher and a socialist. Great. Actually, not great. Beto could generate some excitement, but he seems to be using campaigning as emotional therapy, not good. Bloomberg wants to take away your Big Gulps — yeah, that should work.
If I were a Democrat looking at the present and future field of candidates, I’d be in a complete panic even though the general election is over 20 months away. Wishing for a Trump collapse is not a mature electoral strategy.
Which gets me to the non-candidate candidate who has been playing her cards just right to set herself up to save the Democrat Party without having to dirty her hands in this early electoral season scrum.
You heard me right: Michelle Obama is the Democrat 2020 frontrunner, even if she doesn’t want to be:

In our January 1, 2018, Predictions post, I predicted the Michelle would run because Democrats would be in a panic if they didn’t recapture the House
3. Get ready. This is the BIG ONE. If as predicted Republicans hold the Senate and House, there will be a clamoring for a Democrat candidate who can unify and motivate the Democrat base and establishment sufficiently to defeat Donald Trump in 2020: Michelle Obama.
Democrats did retake the House, but not the Senate, so mark that as a prediction that didn’t hold. But I don’t think the logic for Michelle has changed, given the likely Democrat field, which may measure in the dozens. “[T]here [still] will be a clamoring for a Democrat candidate who can unify and motivate the Democrat base and establishment sufficiently to defeat Donald Trump in 2020.”
That person uniquely is Michelle. There is a good indicator in the reveal that her Memoirs, released just after Election Day, have shattered sales expectations.

Michelle made a surprise appearance at the Grammys, and the crowd went wild. You can dismiss it as a uniformly liberal crowd, but it’s also the type of crowd who would give a Democrat primary candidate buzz and momentum.

Those expecting a ho-hum Grammys night were surely jolted awake on Sunday when, just minutes into the show, Michelle Obama walked onto the stage hand-in-hand with Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett Smith and Jennifer Lopez. They were joined by the host Alicia Keys.
In the surprise appearance, which doubled as a moment of female solidarity the Grammys needed, Obama spoke to the crowd as it erupted in applause and cheers.
“All right, all right, we got a show to do,” Obama, who wore a loose-fitting shimmering silver jumpsuit, said playfully when the audience wouldn’t settle down.

Michelle says she doesn’t want to be President. I believe her.

Even if Moochelle is the nominee I think DJT’s still in the catbird seat. He simply makes the stark comparison between the 2009-2016 devastation (like AA Moochelle is gonna be different than her AA husband) and what he’s accomplished in his 3-4 years. Yeh, blacks will vote overwhelming for her (but don’t tell them that they’re racists even though their so voting is based on skin color), and of course the left. But those were lost to Trump anyways.
The Clinton Machine will do everything they can to keep Michelle from getting the nomination.
If not before, certainly now after Moochelle stole Hillary’s patented fake-ass point-smile-wave move.
I think Michelle would make a great Commandress-in-Chief. And just think: After four or eight years of her as President, we could witness the unveiling of a portrait of her seated in a chair, half-covered in green ivy, and a portrait of Barack seated elegantly, wearing a flowing white dress.

Dems will be looking at it as a “BOGO” with the “GO” holding court as 2nd to the chief as her “Consigliere”. The only noticeable change from 2008-2016 will be the spiel of the constant barrage of “I, Me, Myself” we’ll hear “We, Our, Us”. And that won’t mean you or me.

Also, kids that were in school during her meddling in the school lunch program are reaching voting age.
Her book sales “have shattered sales expectations.”
It would be interesting to see how many were bought by colleges, public schools, libraries etc., most of whom are controlled by the left.
Thus, our taxes bought a lot of these books – which is appropriate since that is how Michelle and B.O. have lived their entire lives.
George Soros probably has millions of them – alongside the millions of hillary clinton books he bought – somewhere being recycled as paper for Gidget Cortez’s memoirs.
She’s not going to run.

Come on, she was Director of Community Relations at a local hospital in Chicago a post widely known to be nearly as intellectually challenging as Head of Neurosurgery in the ranks of hospital employees.
She was so good at the job that she got promoted and received a 200% salary increase which occurred right as her legendary (in his own mind anyway) husband was elected to the Senate. Of course, it was pure coincidence.
But VP of Community Relations is a well known path to the White House, so what’s the problem?
Is that the job that she did SO well that when she left, they didn’t even need to backfill the position?
Because no one could ever live up to her amazing performance they retired the position… sort of the way teams retire numbers.
If you thought Barry was dumb, wait until you meet his wife! She was at the high school level when graduated from college and hasn’t held a real job since. Sort of like her husband. She will not run. She knows that she is unqualified and no amount of begging from the brain dead Dems will make her run. Bank on it!
She’ll run if Soros tells her to run.
Like Hilary she is enjoying the ride by staying on the same page as her husband. The first 2 years post office has provided for them the riches they only dreamed of. Obama would have loved it if term limits were that of the 40’s. This is opportunity knocking. What better voice piece could he want then the one that enjoys the pleasure of all which he has provided. If only for one term, they would be reaping the post office rewards that have set up Bill and Hilary to be billionaires.

I thought she was going jump in to the 2016 race at the last minute and shiv the Wicked Witch of Westchester in the ribs. Then again, I thought Clinton was going to do the same to 0bama in 2012.
I agree that your scenario is likely. But she’d need Barack to do her presidenting for her, and having escaped that grind he may not be willing to jump back in.
I also think Paul Mirengoff makes a good argument that we shouldn’t write Booker off too soon. He peddles a fine line of bullsh*t and fairy dust, and may well emerge as the Hopenchange™ candidate Mark II.
If mooochelle jumps in the race, the stage will collapse.
She gains nothing she doesn’t have now.
But the risks of ending up a champion LOSER are severe. Hurricane Orange is a far more formidable opponent than her hubby ever faced, and he’s an incumbent (another obstacle Barry never had to overcome).
She has no grand philosophical plans to transform the United States into some lesser entity.
She isn’t a career politician reaching for the ultimate brass ring to top off a career as a public parasite.
She’s never articulated any obsessive dream of “making history” by being the First Woman POTUS.
The D’rats do indeed have a pretty miserable field of nobodies so far, but I can’t see that by itself being much of an enticement for her to dive in and face the lions in America’s electoral Colosseum. There are obvious advantages to sitting back and basking in the adulation of crowds without having to work for it.
She’s lazy and thin-skinned. She’s not running.
Either Michelle or Oprah could have the dem nomination if they wanted it.

Michelle Obama would make a great candidate until she opened her mouth on the campaign trail. She is a horrible speaker and her popularity is simply due to her last name. Additionally, all her anti-America statements would come back to haunt her and her employment debacle in Chicago while Barack as a local politician there was between abysmal and horrific. (She was actually directed to do nothing because her job was a political appointment and she was utterly incompetent.) Then there is the issue of her college thesis that appeared to have been written by a 4th grader….

As much as it pains me to say it, Moochelle actually does have the best chance to even score a respectable also-ran against Trump. At the risk of being labeled a racist (sexist?), I’d say that she has a great chance should she decide to run.
(#1) She’ll get a YUGE majority of the female vote because women will vote for her simply because she is a woman. Qualifications? We don’t need no stinkin’ qualifications.

The Dems are further left now than they were in 2016; a declaration of Socialist is no longer toxic; and they now KNOW that the primaries were rigged against him. If he runs (and I think he will) the horse-race between the two of them will be a closely-fought thing, and could do some real damage to Michelle. Will she risk that?
The re-election of Donald Trump is by no means a done deal. Yes, President Trump has done great things with the judiciary, the economy, jobs, foreign trade, public confidence, etc. etc. But to a leftist, none of that means anything. “Orange Man Bad” is still the ruling dictum to them.

If she runs, she’ll win. All the Blacks and Democrats will vote for her. Those who think it’s time for a woman will vote for her. Barry was a guy, I guess, and he’s only half-Black. She’ll get the votes from all of those who think it’s time for a woman. To me, she’s even less appealing than Hillary but that won’t matter to all those others.
If she does win in such a scenario, the only good part would be that her winning would frost Hillary’s ass down to Absolute Zero. And to put the cherry on top, perhaps Moochelle could offer Hillary a place in the Obama Administration… again.
