I have documented some of Hillary’s brand renovation exercises over the past year as she seeks to distance herself from Obama, whose “hope and change” polish has tarnished quite quickly over the past few months. It seems the more his brand falters, the more we see of Hillary.
At the swearing-in ceremony for Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, Michael Hammer, Hillary took the opportunity to break out her now-signature recipe for cool: self-deprecation, zany fun, and sunglasses (see Texts from Hillary). Watch for yourself:

Clinton then turned to Hammer’s wife and daughters and said that since they were all in purple, she needed to be “appropriately attired” as well. The secretary of state proceeded to put on purple mardi gras beads and what she called her “piece de resistance,” wing-tipped purple and green sunglasses.
As Obama’s recent assertion of Executive Privilege, brilliantly captured by Jon Stewart, hammers one more nail in the ho-hum “just like all the rest after all” coffin, Hillary continues to break out of the establishment mold. Where is she headed?

The conspiracy hunter in me has Obama being such an absolute screw-up that Hillary will come off as some sort of little old lady in an ugly pantsuit that means well. Plus, folks will assume that when you elect a Hillary, you get a Bubba, free.
Come on and be honest. How many times since Obama’s election have you thought, Hillary could not have been,this damn bad? So…maybe Obama lays the groundwork, and Hillary finishes it.

He is just slicker than Obama, and he lies just like Obama. Hillary lacks the charm Obama is supposed to have, but I don’t know for sure cuz I’ve never thought of Obama as charming. Cold, yes, charming never. Plus, Hillary is an underachieving lawyer and a harridan on a good day. I felt some sympathy for her in the last election cycle cuz I didn’t like Obama’s theft of the Democrat nomination, but then I got over that cuz stealing elections is part of the Democrat history. Moreover, like Obama, Hillary’s record is nothing to crow about. In conjunction with him, she’s handed the ME to terrorists and blamed Israel for everything every step of the way. She is an anti-Semite. Remember her kissing Suha Arafat? Gag!

Hillary would be quite comfortable surrounded by such types. Lest it slip from memory it was Hillary and Democrats who first tried to cram the medical mandate down our throats back in 1993. She’s through and through a Big Govt type, all for your own good you understand, whether you like it or not. She supports an enlarged and more active UN.

I hear there’s a new Hooters and a remodeled IHOP up near where the Clintons live. Additionally, with all the shakeups and reassignments at the Secret Service, there are now some real players on his security detail. Word around the campfire also has Bill claiming diplomatic immunity at IHOP.
Madame Secretary should watch her posterior. There’s evidence that State was also involved in F and F. Hillary’s a bigger gun grabber than Barry, so I will not pass out in shock if her name surfaces after the EP claim is thrown out. This of course assumes that Barry’s not destroying documents faster than an SS officer in Berlin on August 22, 1945.

Clintons, Bushes… how did we get these political families as such fixtures in our lives? Who are they anyway? All I see is mediocrity at best and total corruptibility at worst. This woman is wretched , lying, power-scrabbling horror show of a human being. I mean, did anyone read the Congressional report on Travelgate? I read all 300 or so pages. This woman is grotesque. Or her healthcare hearings. Or about Jonny Chung. Or the Rose Law firm documents. Or Christopher Hitchens “No one Left to Lie to.” This woman should be in jail. And she’s our Secretary of State? Something is seriously wrong in this country.
Given all thats true ,shes still the best the dems have. l felt with Wisc. , a possible tipping point had been crossed. Given present trends continue ,l’m not sure Obama has the character to continue to absorb the abuse. lt probably will only get worse especially if we go double dip. He’s always been the golden boy able to lie his way out of any difficulty. His path cleared by enablers. Granted this is a long shot but l can see inside kingmakers putting pressure on the man “for the good of the party” etc. Hillary may be earlier than we think.
The Jon Stewart take on F&F is, sadly, much more comprehensive and in-depth than NBC, ABC, MSNBC…
Let’s hope the Romney campaign is capable of pivoting to run against Hillary, too – after the Democrat convention.

I was indifferent to the video clip until the swearing-in. Clinton, wearing those sunglasses, administered the appointee’s oath to support the Constitution.
This is the kind of gesture that a privileged 1960s Boomer would have considered hip and transgressive—while the sons of the working class were being drafted to fight in Vietnam.
As the consequences of her tenure come home to roost, we may realize that Clinton ran State in the spirit of those sunglasses.

I concur with Jim above. The State Department has to provide a waiver to permit the administration to walk, er, “export” firearms to another country, e.g., Mexico. Hillary’s name will surface in the DOJ/DEA/ATFE records when Issa gets hold of them and Hillary better hope the records showed she denied the waiver. F&F has enough megatonnage that it might well devastate the Democrats for years.
