Netanyahu said he would attend the United Nations General Assembly despite Mamdani’s threats.
Anyone with a brain cell knew Mamdani couldn’t arrest Netanyahu. Mamdani knew he couldn’t, but we know politicians will say anything to get elected.
Mamdani released a video explaining he couldn’t arrest Netanyahu. Instead, he encouraged people to protest the prime minister. He filled the video with antisemitism, using language to easily disguise what he truly pushed: swarm the streets and take action.
A video from September 2023 shows Mamdani saying, “We have to make clear that when the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, it’s been laced by the IDF.”
Mamdani somehow managed to fill his judiciary advisory panel without any Jewish lawyers. It’s weird because Jewish attorneys make up about 30% to 50% of the lawyers in New York City.

IOW the Israelis are hella competent and we’d know if they were really conducting a ‘genocide’ b/c by this point they’d have not just completed it but successfully completed it if they really were attempting it. They ain’t.

Where did you get the 74,000 numbers?
Certainly it is difficult to get figures on this.
However, Statista (which is generally non-political) shows the figure at 74,439 casualties from Oct 7, 2023 until Oct 1, 2026.
How Statista gets the number (and that number seems to be consistent from many sources.) Given the past “casualties” from pro-Palestinian sources, skepticism is warranted.
However, the Times of Israel, has an article from January 29, 2026 quoting a source within the IDF saying the number of deaths in Gaza is approximately 70,000.

I have no idea how left or right leaning this paper is, and there is some caution because the number is from an unnamed source.
If Hamas, the UN, and other sources that may not be biased toward Palestine are all quoting the 74k number, someone needs to give a sourced number that refutes that claim.
The Times of Israel is moderately left-wing. Not in comparison to Haaretz, which I generally call “al-Ard”, because it reliably represents the enemy’s view, but it is left of center and very anti-Netanyahu.

You get my point, exactly. It’s a Rhetorical Fallacy(tm)(*). Two numbers presented side by side implies somehow comperable ,just by that use. That implied equivalence is on whoever made the numbers. I’m pointing out how they may not be comparable.
(*) Rhetorical Fallacy -= term seems worth having for notion of rhetoric that embeds a fallacy on the sly. One day tally vs. three year tally is example.
(In)famous Motte and Bailey “argument” is another example. Implicit is notion that one scope of claim is same as the other. The point is not noticing the varying claims, the fallacy, in the flurry of rhetoric. Israel attacked back at Gaza and many people were killed and hurt. If the original attack was not done on Israel then there would not be an attack on Gaza.

I wish people would understand the reason for the claim, namely to knock Israel off of its moral high ground from having been a victim of this or that, and replace that moral high ground with their own moral high ground for the same thing.

In addition, even if they were accurate, these numbers (including the numbers of “children”) include many thousands of terrorists, whose deaths are a good thing. Killing the enemy is the whole point of war.
But even if that weren’t true, even if these were the numbers of innocent noncombatants killed, not only would they be legitimate collateral damage and not a war crime at all, let alone a genocide, but they’d be far fewer than the number of truly innocent German civilians we killed in WW2 — not to mention the number of truly innocent French civilians we killed in Normandy.
