Spain: 60,000 Crossed Border from Morocco, Over 30 Dead
Europe is NOT happy. Open borders doesn’t sound that great now, does it?
Juan Jesús Vivas, the head of Ceuta, said that around 60,000 people crossed the border from Morocco on Thursday. At least 34 people died during the swarm:
Most who tried to cross the border are Moroccans. Seawalls and fences separate Morocco from Ceuta and Melilla, two Spanish enclaves that sit on Morocco’s northern coast. They are the only land borders the European Union shares with Africa.
Local officials have blamed the sharp increase in crossings on a recent Spanish Supreme Court ruling, which makes it harder to turn away migrants arriving from Morocco by sea. Vivas called the ongoing situation “absolutely unsustainable.” He also criticized the government’s response, saying that “action was taken too late and insufficiently.”
Spain’s interior ministry claimed 50,000 entered Ceuta. The ministry also said that over 25,000 have since left.
I trust Vivas more since the Spanish government is far-left and wants open borders.
The videos from yesterday should terrify people. The majority are military-age men. I saw very few women and no children.

It also seems the media has eaten up the narrative that the men left Morocco because the economy “does not produce enough jobs” and has “a police state that curtails their freedoms.”
The people also told the media that Moroccan authorities encouraged them to cross the border:
We’ve now spoken to several Moroccans who say they were encouraged to cross into Ceuta by the Moroccan authorities. Youssef Alaoui, 26, said that as his group approached the border on Thursday, Moroccan police officers pointed them in right direction. “They just kept saying, ‘Go that way, go that way,’” Mr. Alaoui said. He ultimately swam across the maritime border, he said, encountering several dead bodies in the water.
Mohammed Ahmidho, 37, said he had heard about the influx to Spain yesterday on social media, and that as he neared the border, Moroccan police officers “said, ‘Come to Spain.’” We met Mr. Ahmidho as he was returning back across the border to Morocco. There wasn’t anything to eat or drink, or any place to sleep, he said, so he was going home.

I admit, I laughed when I read that Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, a Socialist, described the invasion as “an attack” and “a violation of Spain’s territorial integrity.”
Yeah, says the guy who lashes out at President Donald Trump’s immigration plans and celebrated Spain’s initiative to give the illegals in the country amnesty. He hailed it as “an act of justice and a necessity.”
The Supreme Court “ruled migrants arriving by sea could not be summarily deported, unlike those who cross by land or climb the border fence.”
Instead, Sánchez blamed “human trafficking mafias,” claiming they exploited Spain’s amnesty laws.
“It appears that this interpretation of the Supreme Court’s ruling spread like wildfire over the past few hours through the networks of human trafficking organizations, triggering the kind of mass surge we witnessed yesterday,” according to Sánchez.
Uh, because absolutely no one told you something like this would happen, right? We all know Trump hasn’t said anything! (That’s sarcasm.)
Europe Responds
Spain has jeopardized the Schengen Area, an open-borders system among 29 European countries.
Europe is not happy.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who wants controlled borders, said her government is ready “to intervene with extraordinary measures to defend the borders and the safety of citizens, including the suspension of the Schengen Area with Spain.”
“Spain has completely failed to protect the Schengen Area’s external border from infiltration, agreed Finnish Interior Minister Mari Rantanen. “This cannot continue.”
Rantanen insisted those who “do not fulfill their obligation to protect the external border cannot be members of Schengen.”
Denmark, Austria, and Sweden also support excluding Spain from the area.
France will “strengthen border checks with Spain.”

Why would Morocco do this?
Because Morocco wants Ceuta and Melilla. They’ve wanted both enclaves for a long time, and for some time now have used the threat of swamping the enclaves as a way of pressuring the Spanish government.
It’s also a way for Morocco to empty its prisons, similar to what Castro did in Cuba during the Mariel boat lift.
Spain, for its part, believe that both enclaves are forever part of sovereign Spain, but Gibraltar can’t ever be British even though it’s been British for over 300 years. Yes, it’s hypocritical.
Prime Minister Sanchez has no problem taking in a few hundred thousand Moroccans so long as he can move most of them to the rest of Europe. Note that Ms. Meloni, who herself is perfectly capable of being hypocritical, wants no part of this.

The Spanish PM is a traitor. It will take more than 34 dead to turn back this invasion. Islam took over the Iberian Peninsula centuries ago by force. They stayed by force and were finally driven out by force. When the Islams marched on Rome and Vienna they did so by force. They were repelled and driven out by force and have been kept out by force. I think there is a pattern here. Maybe the West is too civilized to survive.

Meh. Pedro “Nuke Israel” Sánchez is only upset because the invaders came in huge numbers all at once and forced him to publicly butch up – even if it will only be all talk and no action. Had they stuck to the usual pattern of 100 sneaking here and 500 there he would have no trouble looking the other way.
