Failed Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris has been reaching out to socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and prominent anti-Israel activists, according to Axios.
Is she seriously considering running again? Harris has hinted numerous times she might run in 2028.
Remember, this is the woman who barely made a mark in the 2020 Democrat presidential primary and became the 2024 candidate behind closed doors.
It also sounds like Harris has accepted that the Democrat Party has fully embraced socialism and anti-Israel movements:
Driving the news: Harris called Mamdani last Thursday to talk about the party’s future and plan a longer conversation, a person familiar with the call told Axios.
- Harris, who occasionally has texted with Mamdani in the past few months, called him two days after the mayor’s handpicked candidates swept three congressional races in New York City, ousting a pair of incumbents.
- In April, Harris met with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) in Chicago on the sidelines of the “Power Rising” conference, a summit for Black women empowerment.
Then there’s the anti-Israel activists. I refuse to call them pro-Palestinian activists because we all know they want to eliminate Israel.
This isn’t a surprise either. Harris’s team included numerous Jewish anti-Israel activists in an attempt to appease both sides.
Harris met with Abbas Alawieh, founder of the Uncommitted Movement, in Detroit. He’s also running for a Michigan state senate seat.
The Uncommitted Movement grew from uncommitted delegates in 2024, mainly due to President Joe Biden’s support for Israel.
Alawieh confirmed the meeting with Harris:
Alawieh told Axios that Harris requested the meeting after months of private conversations she initiated.
- During their talks, he said, he “reiterated my longstanding position that American tax dollars should never be used to target civilians or destroy entire communities.”
- Alawieh, who stressed he wasn’t speaking for the Uncommitted Movement, added that he “shared with her that members of the community that I’m seeking to represent have recently lost family members in Israeli air strikes that have been supported by the U.S.”
Harris secretly reached out to these people in 2024, including the mayor of Dearborn, MI.
I guess it didn’t work because uncommitted Michigan voters blasted Harris after DNC speech.
I doubt the outreach will work now because anti-Israel voters doubt Harris has changed.
“Why should we trust her now?” Rania Batrice, a progressive strategist and Palestinian American, said, according to Axios. “If this change is real, she has an opportunity to prove it. Until then, skepticism isn’t just understandable, it’s warranted.”
Really? Because Harris never made it a secret how she feels like Israel. Harris didn’t choose Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro as her running mate because he’s Jewish. The governor admitted as much, revealing she asked if he had been “a double agent for Israel during the vetting process.
However, considering the socialist primary wins in 2025, will Harris be far enough left for the new Democrat Party? Or is too late for Harris to unleash what we already know: she is far-left and doesn’t like Israel.
