Clean Sweep: A Very Good Night for Mamdani in New York Primaries

Clean Sweep: A Very Good Night for Mamdani in New York Primaries

“We have to reset the U.S. relationship with Israel.”

Democratic socialist candidates backed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani dominated Democratic congressional primary races across the city on Tuesday. All three of his picks were projected to win their respective races by the Associated Press and NY1 on Tuesday night.

With 94% of the vote counted, former city Comptroller Brad Lander holds a commanding 65.9% to 34.1% lead over incumbent Rep. Dan Goldman — a staggering 31.8-point margin — in NY-10. Lander, you may recall, was a candidate in the 2025 Democratic New York City mayoral primary. After losing to Mamdani and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, he endorsed Mamdani, and according to Politico, the two have “since formed a close alliance, as evinced by the fact that the mayor introduced Lander at his election night party at a brewery in Brooklyn.”

Among his many extremist positions, Lander supports the abolishment of ICE and the expansion of the Supreme Court. He also believes that all student loan debt should be forgiven.

After he was projected the winner on Tuesday night, the antisemitic candidate told CNN it was time for the U.S. to reset its relationship with Israel. He said, “We shouldn’t be taking corporate PAC money from Wall Street and crypto and AI and AIPAC. … We’ve got to fight harder for working families and have people see us fighting for them, and we have to reset the U.S. relationship with Israel.”

In his victory speech, Lander told supporters, “We ran this campaign like a team sport, because that’s what it takes to stand up to billionaires and bullies. And that’s what I intend to do in Congress. Our team of progressive champions has been winning across the country, and our ranks will keep growing, tonight and in the months ahead.”

With no serious Republican opposition in the general election, Lander is widely expected to represent New York’s 10th Congressional District in Congress next year.

Far-left activist Darializa Avila Chevalier, perhaps the most radical of Mamdani’s endorsees, is projected to unseat incumbent Rep. Adriano Espaillat. She currently leads 49.6% to 46.1%.

How radical is she? Her now-deleted X account tells the story. She has called for the abolishment of ICE, the police, U.S. borders, and prisons. Fox News’ Bill Melugin reported she believes that all deportations, including those of violent criminals, are wrong, she has called the U.S. an ‘effing disgrace,’ and said in a prior social media post ‘I forgot to get napkins so I just wiped my hand on the American flag behind me.'”

The New York Post noted that Avila Chevalier’s projected win “echoed the stunning 2018 victory by her fellow DSA diehard Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over Democratic fixture Joe Crowley.”

One outraged Avila-Chevalier critic appeared to express the sentiments of many on X:

NYC Democrats just unseated the chair of the House Hispanic Caucus for a DEI hire woman who said she wants to use the American flag as a napkin! She is unemployed 32 year old on her way to Congress, who was recently rioting with pro-Hamas activist Mahmoud Khalil in the Columbia University encampment on a college campus while asking for “basic humanitarian aid! Darializa Avila Chevalier, who just won the NY-13 Democrat primary, says “Inshallah” if she makes it to Congress, she wants to make sure to reflect her Muslim faith “in the halls of power”. She wants to abolish police, prisons (even for murderers), and says all deportation is wrong! This is a fkn nightmare! Wake Up! The Democratic Party is Dead! This is Insane!

Meanwhile, in the race for the open seat in NY-07, Mamdani-backed state Assemblymember Claire Valdez routed Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, prevailing by a margin of 56.1% to 35.8%.

Among her many far-left policy positions, Melugin highlighted her support for granting citizenship and voting rights to illegal immigrants, using taxpayer dollars to fund all transgender medical treatments, and abolishing private health insurance.

Her congressional campaign website states that she “worked low-wage customer service jobs at Taco Bell and Trader Joe’s” before being elected to the state Assembly.

Democratic strategist and former secretary to Andrew Cuomo, Melissa DeRosa, who has always struck me as an honest broker, said of the candidates, “They are not Democrats; they are socialists, and they are parasites. They cannot win on their own by creating their own party, so they are going to latch onto the Democratic Party and feed off of it, with the overall goal of taking it over and killing it.”

Palestinian Aber Kawas, a candidate for the New York State Senate, who claims that “9/11 was America’s fault due to ‘capitalism, racism, white supremacy, and Islamophobia,’ has won her seat.”

None of these results came entirely out of the blue. Mamdani’s endorsement has become one of the most powerful forces in New York Democratic politics, and each of these candidates entered Election Day with momentum and the backing of an energized progressive base.

Still, the magnitude of the victories was remarkable. An incumbent member of Congress was trounced by more than 30 points, another appears headed for defeat at the hands of a little-known activist, and a borough president was routed in a race for an open seat. Taken together, the results underscore just how thoroughly Mamdani and the Democratic Socialists of America have reshaped the political landscape in New York City. The question now is whether the party’s increasingly radical trajectory will remain confined to deep-blue districts or become a model Democrats attempt to replicate elsewhere in the country.

Socialism is always wrapped in a nice package. The opening of the gift is when the pain starts

Islam is a theocracy with the openly stated goal of bringing the planet into submission of Sharia
How are enemies of the Republic eligible for elected office???

    Milhouse in reply to rduke007. | June 24, 2026 at 9:25 am

So are many/most forms of Christianity. So is Judaism, for that matter. This does not make someone an enemy of the republic.

“No religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.”

A member of congress is not required to pledge loyalty or allegiance or anything like that. He is required only to swear or affirm that he will support the constitution, which definitely does not mean he doesn’t want to radically amend it, it merely means he won’t support its violent overthrow.

Dimsdale in reply to Milhouse. | June 24, 2026 at 9:49 am

I believe that Islam has proven itself an enemy of the republic. Go take a tour of the twin tower memorial Christians and Jews did not do that, despite the spittle laced rantings of idiots like Rosie O’Donnell and most Dem socialists.

Time to call the party what it is: Democrat socialists. The words can no longer be separated. Commies works for me.

As Lenin once stated, “The goal of socialism is communism.” Lenin argued that socialism is the necessary transitional stage that creates the material conditions for the eventual emergence of full communism,

      Prove me wrong.

That said, I will do everything I can to avoid NYC and its environs, its products etc., because I know history and I have bought lots of popcorn.

The infestation of our government, through the Democrat socialists, with Marxism and its proven failed tactics, will be the true test of our country’s 250th anniversary.

isfoss in reply to Dimsdale. | June 24, 2026 at 10:01 am

The socialists here at home have the advantage of an undereducated, indoctrinated voting class, not to mention an aging baby boomer population still carrying the torch of the 60’s revolution. What happens in NY is already spreading across the country. Anyone who denies the seriousness of the surge of the socialist, Islamo-Marxist wave is willfully blind and ignorant. America fought against communism inside its borders decades ago, it needs to take up the fight against it once again. Now.

isfoss in reply to Milhouse. | June 24, 2026 at 9:50 am

What are some of the forms of Christianity/Judaism that compare with Islam and Sharia Law and death to the infidels? Since when has Christianity or Judaism posed a threat to the country?

BTW, certain members of Congress do support the overthrow of the Constitution, not yet violently perhaps, but that’s beside the point that they do NOT support the Constitution or any aspect of the nation’s foundation. What’s not dangerous about that?

Milhouse in reply to isfoss. | June 24, 2026 at 10:16 am

Judaism, and many or most forms of Christianity, advocate theocracy and have the openly stated goal of bringing the planet into submission to their beliefs.

“To remove idols from the world, and the false gods shall be cut down, to establish the world under the Almighty’s kingdom, and all flesh shall call in Your Name.”

Islam’s ambition to rule the world is no different. At this time in our history Islam is the only religion that poses a practical threat to the USA, but that’s irrelevant to the question. At the time of the founding the Roman Catholic Church was still actively trying to take over the world and was seen by the English in particular as a practical threat, and yet the constitution explicitly rejects any religious test for public office, which meant that if Americans wanted to elect Catholics to public office they were free to do so, so long as they swore to support the constitution’s legal authority. They could still advocate radically amending the constitution, just not violently overthrowing it.

Cutting down false idols damn autocorrect

guyjones in reply to Milhouse. | June 24, 2026 at 12:34 pm

There’s a salient theological distinction, though, that you’re conveniently omitting and glossing over, which is that Submission is the only religious/political ideology whose central text and whose core tenets explicitly command its adherents to wage war upon non-believers, to either kill them or subjugate them, as a matter of allegedly Divine command and imperative.

Judaism’s tenets don’t command that of its followers, nor do Christianity’s tenets — that is no small theological and moral distinction, however imperfect Jews and Christians may have behaved, at certain historical moments.

Among major world religions, only Submission boasts a 1,400-year-plus history of waging unrelenting warfare, conquests, invasions, enslavement and atrocities upon peoples and lands who decline to embrace its tenets and its “prophet.”

Milhouse in reply to Milhouse. | June 24, 2026 at 9:05 pm

Avi, “cutting down false gods” is all Islam demands as well. Exactly like Christianity and Judaism, it demands that the entire planet accept its beliefs. The only difference is that at this time in history (but not 250 years ago) Islam is the only religion that happens to pose a real practical threat to the USA.

(Do not tell me that Judaism allows people to adhere to other religions. It absolutely does not. Jews are commanded, whenever they have the power to do so, to suppress all false religions and demand that gentiles accept the truth of the Torah, and the theological propositions that it stands for. Gentiles are not required to join the Jewish nation and accept the obligation to obey the 613 commandments, but they are required to accept our religion.

But it’s been a very long time since we were in any position to enforce this, and it’ll take the Annointed King’s arrival to put us in such a position, at which time we can assume that all reasonable people will be convinced of the Torah’s truth anyway, and won’t need to be coerced. So it’s not a practical issue, unlike Islam which is currently a real threat.)

The % margin of victory matters but far less than the raw vote total. In 2018 AOC won the primary defeating an out of touch, complacent incumbent by 23%+. Seems impressive. Then we examine the raw vote totals. AOC got just under 17K while her opponent got just under 13K. So in a primary with less than 30K votes cast she won by just under 4K votes. Considering that 140K votes were cast in the 2018 Nov general election we can easily see how low primary vote participation can skew perception. Especially in super solid blue or red CD where the outcome of the primary is pretty much the ‘real’ election, even more so in States with party line voting option.

Dimsdale in reply to CommoChief. | June 24, 2026 at 9:50 am

Every vote does indeed count, and these ridiculously small numbers ensure that the Democrat socialists will be able to continue to cheat with ease.

CommoChief in reply to Dimsdale. | June 24, 2026 at 11:06 am

Exactly so. Had another 5K anti AOC voters showed up and voted against her in the ’18 primary she wouldn’t be elected and she’d have been, at best, a footnote. Instead they stayed home and she’s potentially a future d/prog nominee for President.

The lower turn out municipal contests or ‘non partisan’ offices held off cycle dramatically increase the punching power of organized voter groups. Since d/prog tend to be ‘joiners’ and GoP tend not to be it creates a systemic advantage for d/prog to sweep contests for School Board, city council, County Commission and so on. Local offices are very important due to power and proximity to Citizens …as some found out during the Covid Mania when their County Health Officer imposed Cray Cray mandates. Others don’t seem to have absorbed the lesson.

Just astonishing really

25 years since 9/11….

I feel like congress being even a little useful could have prevented this

Milhouse in reply to rickcheese. | June 24, 2026 at 9:28 am

How so? Congress with a Republican majority being useful would mean passing laws that support a Republican agenda, and therefore would upset these socialists even more. From their point of view the only “useful” thing the Democrats could do would be to successfully stall the Republican agenda, which is what they’ve done!

Dimsdale in reply to Milhouse. | June 24, 2026 at 9:52 am

I think that we’ve proven that party affiliation, real or perceived/stated, has little to do with the utility, functionality or patriotism of Congress.

Milhouse in reply to Dimsdale. | June 24, 2026 at 10:18 am

You’re saying that this result — NY Democrat voters choosing socialists to represent them — could have been prevented by Congress being useful. Since a Republican Congress being useful would necessarily mean advancing the Republican agenda, please explain how it could have had that effect. Why would these socialist voters be happy about Congress actually achieving Republican goals?

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | June 24, 2026 at 11:15 am

“How so? Congress with a Republican majority being useful would mean passing laws that support a Republican agenda, and therefore would upset these socialists even more.”

Congress actively working hard to increase the general prosperity in America would have defanged the lure of socialism to the have-nots, relegating them to the fringe electorate.

healthguyfsu | June 24, 2026 at 9:07 am

It’s because all of the sanity has fled the state.

Lander, you may recall, was a candidate in the 2025 Democratic New York City mayoral primary. After losing to Mamdani and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, he endorsed Mamdani,

He didn’t lose to Cuomo, only to Mamdani. There was only one winner of the Dem primary. Cuomo ran in November as an independent.

Call it the groundswell of socialism (communism in its early stage).
It does not bode well for the nation. Period.

guyjones in reply to isfoss. | June 24, 2026 at 12:27 pm

Call it “red-green” ideology, Islamo-communism, or Marxislamism; however one characterizes it, it is a force of evil, and this is the ideological path — Jew-hating, Christian-hating, nihilistic subversion and perpetual agitprop — that the vile, stupid and evil Dhimmi-crat leeches, ingrates, subversives and fifth columnists have rabidly committed to marching upon.

NY has only itself to blame, the voter turn out was exteremly low. You can say that’s true of all primaries but if you are upset that a perosn who hates this country won your congfressional seat, then maybe go out and vote? Don’t keyboard warrior it. NY wants these nut jobs in Congress who will priroitize themselves, crafting their image and their power over helping their home state. You get what you vote for and NY voted for making Israel hating their top priority versus bringing jobs, business and growth to their state. All I can say is that to NY Jews get the F out of that state, the voters, your neighbors, have definitely shown that they will support anyone who hates Jews a whole lot and blames them for everything.

Subotai Bahadur in reply to schmuul. | June 24, 2026 at 1:42 pm

You are making twin assumptions. First, that there in fact WILL be future elections, and second that the votes will be counted and reported honestly. Neither is a given as we seem to be in the end stage.

    Subotai Bahadur

I think law enforcement on stolen antiquities is shamefully underfunded now.

Milhouse in reply to Danny. | June 24, 2026 at 10:23 am

How so? And what makes an antiquity “stolen”? I do not accept the assertion that any ancient object somehow belongs to the government of the location in which it was found. What did that government do to create that object? What claim does it have on it? Someone made that object thousands of years ago, and if that person had traceable heirs perhaps they would have a claim on it; but he doesn’t, so that’s irrelevant. The government that happens to be there now is not that person’s heir. As far as I can see it, the object was ownerless until it was found, whereupon it rightly belongs to the finder.

The mystery of the recent, deliberate, accelerated destruction of the western countries is now solved. AI did not just spring up overnight. The elite knew about it years ago. They are softening up the institutions in order to gain total control. There will be only a ruling class and a underclass. There will be a huge population decline, and the first to go will be the minorities that they pretended to cherish. For some time those skilled enough to fill the gaps AI cannot yet fill will be allowed to keep their large screen TVs and their ridiculous vehicles with aggressively styled grilles.

“Can This Former Taco Bell Worker Make It All the Way to Congress?”
Why not? A former McDonald’s worker made it all the way to VP.
And she only actually showed up at her job a few times.
Either job.

You can’t vote your way out of this. The number of people who “deserve” stuff is way past 50%. It’s just a matter of time. Plan accordingly.

The Curley Effect remains undefeated:

As Communist politicians and policies drive productive citizens and industries out of deep blue sh*tholes the remaining electorate makes the Communist politicians unbeatable. It also means that economic stagnation will only get worse which will then get blamed on “billionaires” (not Bill Gates and George Soros and other Commie plutocrats), Jews, Christians, RethugiKKKans, and anyone else targeted by the Communists for genocide.

Can we start a fund to help NY state secede from the Union?

Subotai Bahadur | June 24, 2026 at 1:38 pm

When they collapse NYC internally, NO FEDERAL MONEY TO RESCUE THEM. Let them wallow in their own effluvia till they drown, then pave the place over.

Looks like our resident ‘lawyer’ is celebrating.

He’s got his ‘holier than thou’ on big time.

I blame Milhouse for this result. He obviously didn’t vote enough times.

Milhouse in reply to ztakddot. | June 24, 2026 at 9:10 pm

They know me at my polling place. And they’re honest. I can’t guarantee that that’s the case at all places, but it is at this one.

The sad thing is the democrats won’t care that these grifting unAmerican deadbeats get elected to congress. They’ll gladly, absorb them into their caucus and give them important committee positions as they did for the fleabags on the squad.

Retards elected communists, I don’t see anything to be surprised about
